I am showcasing here on the Replica Airguns website and over on the Replica Airguns YouTube channel a series of videos I am making for the purpose of selling some guns out of my personal collection. I simply have no more room for the new guns and in some cases I either have duplicate guns or very similar versions so there is no need to have both. Some guns I am less attached to and as I already stated I need to make room for some of the new stuff I will be reviewing and or buying for myself.
In this third Mike's Personal Guns For Sale video I am offering four BB rifles, three of which have full auto or at least burst mode ability and the fourth BB rifles is more of a Shotguns with the ability to shoot three BB's at once. Most of these BB rifles are really hard to get here in Canada now since one is not made anymore and the two are simply not currently being imported into Canada.

While the weather is still nice, I decided to setup some clay pigeon targets at varying further out ranges than the typically 30 feet I shoot on my deck. So I figured 40-60-80-100 foot ranges would be a good test to see if a 4.5mm Steel BB rifle could effectively hit targets at any of these ranges.
I did do a similar test earlier on using my Umarex Steel Force but I think the Steel Force may have been a bit underpowered for the 80-100 foot shots.
So today I brought out my Drozd Blackbird since it has a bit of power and what it may lack in accuracy it for sure makes up in volume! As with many of my shooting videos I captured all the fun using a bunch of different cameras and camera angles and today I even wore a dedicated lapel mic which I have a min-review for coming up shortly!

Full Auto Fun video number three this week and this one is perhaps the craziest one! When you take a Drozd Blackbird that already has a 800-1000 round BB magazine, convert it to 1200 rounds of full auto, add a custom JimC Barrel to it, some bulk CO2 and a bunch of other cosmetic accessories... Well you get the most ridiculous full auto BB gun you can ask for.
Since I had an extra 800-900 BB's more than I am used to when making these full auto videos, I decided to add a few additional targets over and above the clay pigeons I have been using so far. I picked up a nice fairly heavy gauge Santa tin and a rather solid hard wax candle from the dollar store that proved to add some drama to this Full Auto Fun video!

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH Drozd Blackbird is nice and light due to the fact that the trigger is not mechanical but is instead an electronic on-off switch that operates a solenoid. The solenoid pulsates in turn hitting the CO2 valve release. This is how the single fire and burst fire rates are achieved, by means of electronics.
Accuracy: The Drozd Blackbird is designed to be a machine gun and so testing it in single shot mode for accuracy is kind of taking it out of its element. Even so it did reasonably well, but when when I flicked it over to full auto it actually seemed to tighten up and start grouping even more centered and closer together considering the vast amount of rounds coming out of the barrel all at once :)
Build Quality: This is a typical Russian made gun, all business and less importance put on looks but even so it is visually appealing, at least to me! Everything works exactly as it should and even though the main shell is made out of plastic, it's really more of a weapons grade polymer so there is no cause for concern here. There are a fair amount of metal components like the factory barrel, much of the magazine and many internal parts. This air gun is very durable!
Realism: The Baikal Drozd Blackbird IZH MP-661K is not a replica, but it does look like a sub machine gun of sorts, I'm really just not sure exactly what it looks like as it kind of has its own look. When you start shooting it, looks just don't seem to matter anymore, all you can think about is how much damage is happening down range.
A bit more accuracy in semi auto mode would have been nice.

The Baikal Drozd Blackbird IZH MP-661K takes all the fun you get with the Classic Drozd and gives you even more fun. It may be one of the more pricy BB machine guns on the market but it is well worth the extra cost to get such a quality product that not only is great out of the box but can also be modified in so many ways to improve its performance and looks dramatically. If you are looking for the absolute top player in the BB Machine gun category then the Drozd Blackbird is the top contender with its excellent build quality and performance along with the nearly unlimited modifications available to make the Blackbird perform up to anyones standards.

I'm kind of doing this one backwards this time around. I was going to do the table top review of the Baikal Drozd Blackbird first but the weather was just too nice to pass up today to not get outside and give this gun a thorough testing.

I had a lot of fun shooting this gun, it lays down a lot of steel in a very short amount of time and has a virtually endless 900 round BB hopper that just keeps on going. During my testing I shot close to 400 rounds or more using one 88 gram CO2 cartridge and even near the end the Baikal Drozd Blackbird had pretty good feet per second performance.
My Baikal Blackbird does have some upgrades: (JimC Barrel, Full Auto-High RPM Mod Chip, Added Accessory Rails, Red Dot Scope, Tactical Light, Laser and Bulk Air kit) but the stock version is "almost" as fun :)
Why have just one Baikal Drozd when you can have two! So now I sell them both!
This is the latest edition to the Drozd BB Machine gun line - the Baikal Drozd Blackbird! This gun means business and is based on the standard Drozd but with a few extras to make this updated version even better. First off you get a motorized 400 round BB hopper (more like a 900 round hopper) and your choice of using either standard 12 gram or 88 gram CO2 cartridges. The Blackbird also has an updated stock and a higer and longer scope mount. This Russian made Full Auto BB Gun is capable of firing (in stock form) up to 600 rounds per minute and 6 round bursts. Keep in mind that modification chips for this BB shooter are easy to get and make it a 1200 round per minute true full auto shredder.
The Drozd Blackbird CO2 4.5mm BB air gun uses a very durable polymer and metal design and takes advantage of an electrically activated trigger for precise aim and consistency.

I just noticed that you can get Bulk Air-CO2 Adaptors on Amazon via a company called "Air Venturi". They have them for the Steel Storm, the Drozd and the Blackbird. The Blackbird one actually doubles as a stock mount for your CO2 or Bulk Air Tank.
