In this Comparison Video I show several models of Glock Replica Airguns distributed under the Umarex/Glock license. Umarex has brought to market several Glock Replica Airguns to date including BB, Pellet, Airsoft and even Paintball versions in a variety of models. I showcase only a few of these models in this video but it is a good selection to give most people an idea of what is available from our Replica Airguns website in terms of Glock Pistols.
Type: Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:Glock 17 Gen 5. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.6 pounds (725 grams). Barrel: 4.5 inches metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, DOA trigger. Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets. Ammunition Capacity: 21 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 370.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is what I would describe as closer to a DOA (Double Action Only) trigger. The blowback action does retract the internal hammer/striker which does relieve some of the trigger pull but the trigger is also used to rotate the belt magazine which gives the trigger a kind of friction feel especially right at the end of the pull where the rotation occurs. That said it is not a terrible trigger like some other belt fed Airguns but it is certainly nutlike a standard SAO type Glock trigger.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is 370. That sounds a bit high for a pellet Airgun but they may be claiming this velocity using a light weight pellets perhaps made out of an alloy rather than lead? I guess we will find out the real world fps using lead pellets and also how accurate it will be when I do my Full Field Test Shooting Video.
Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol like most of the Umarex Glocks is very well made. I am thinking that Glock to allow Umarex to license Glock Pistols hammy have a quality control as part of this license agreement? Either way the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is a solid and well built Airgun all around with quality material and very good fit and finish.
Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol in terms of realism as compared to a real steel Glock 19 Gen 5 for sure hits the mark in most categories. It is a bit lighter and you can not field strip it easily, there is also the not so much recessed barrel that is a bit of a giveaway but in terms of most other attributes the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 replicates a real Glock… Including the basic looks and feel, the metal slide and polymer frame, the full size drop out metal magazine, the blowback action and most of the working parts including the slide catch release, magazine release and trigger safety.
Pros:
Good weight and feel to it, build quality and fit and finish seem very good.
Really nice looking and full featured replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 5.
Fully Glock licensed via Umarex.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Working trigger safety.
Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and .177 caliber pellets.
Nice high 21 round capacity.
Slide spring feels nice and heavy provide a decent blowback recoil effect.
Safety built into the serial number plate area keeps it well hidden.
Can see through ejection port when magazine is out.
Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard.
370 claimed fps is good for a CO2 blowback pellet pistol.
Cons:
Barrel is not really all that recessed.
No way to easily field strip it.
Don’t like the clam shell packaging.
Trigger is a bit on the heavy side.
Comments:
I think many of us having been waiting for a pellet shooting version of the Glock from Umarex. I am a bit surprised they went with a belt fed version as belt fed magazines tend to be a bit on the heavy trigger pull side. Yes the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol has a stronger trigger pull as compared to a 4.5mm BB or 6mm Airsoft version of the same Umarex gun, as most of these Umarex based Glocks utilize a SAO trigger which is more comparable to a real steel Glock. On the plus side the Pellet version should be a bit more accurate, but we will see how this pans out when I do my comprehensive Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 5 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol.
Type:Paintball Gun. Manufacturer:Umarex - T4E. Model:Glock 17 Gen5 Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 726 grams (1.6 pounds). Barrel: Smooth bore. Power Source: 1x12 gram CO2. Action: Semi-Automatic with blowback action. Ammo Type: .43 Caliber Paintball or Rubber Ball. Ammo Capacity: 8 Rounds. FPS: 350-400.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol feels a lot like a double action trigger mainly because when you pull the trigger the inner barrel travels backwards into the magazine placing a paintball round in the barrel which seals the barrel with the magazine so less CO2 is wasted. This does make the trigger a little bit longer and heavier than a single action trigger. The internal hammer/striker is engaged from the blowback action reducing the friction on the trigger. In terms of it being similar to a Glock trigger pull it will be a bit heavier and longer but not bad overall.
Accuracy: So far I have not had the opportunity to test the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol out so stay posted for my future Field Test Shooting Video where I will see what kind of velocity and accuracy we can expect from it. For now you can watch my Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex T4E Walther PPQ M2 .43 Caliber Paintball Pistol as it is very similar in design and should for the most part perform about the same.
Build Quality: The build quality of the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is really very good, metal parts are where you would expect them, the slide, slide catch, barrel, magazine and most internal parts giving the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol a solid 1.6 pound overall weight with the magazine in. The fit and finish is also very good with virtually no slide wiggle to be found.
Realism: The Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is a licensed Glock Replica via Umarex which owns the licensing so you will find Glock licensing and branding throughout this Paintball Pistol. Just looking at the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol you would find it hard to tell the difference between it and the real steel Glock 17 Gen5 but there are some notable differences as in the length of the slide travel which is about half of what you would expect from a real Glock. This is to account for the obvious internal differences to allow for CO2 and paintballs to be used. Overall the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol would make a great training pistol if you are a Glock owner and want to use the closest gun to it.
Pros:
Really great weight and solid feeling gun.
Full Metal slide that locks back on the last shot.
All metal heavy full size drop out magazine adds some additional weight to the gun.
Good for Glock shooters looking for a training weapon.
Everything works pretty much like the real gun so again great as a training tool.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Working trigger safety.
Fit and finish is excellent.
Magazine spring release really shoots the magazine out so be warned!
.43 caliber barrel opening, adds to realism.
Fully Glock licensed via Umarex.
Comes in a ice hard shell case.
Cons:
Trigger is a bit heavy, not as light as a real Glock, more of a double action trigger in function.
Magazine only holds 8 rounds, so you are going to need extra magazines for sure.
Blowback action is not full blowback, more like a typical half blowback BB gun.
Comments:
The Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is another great addition to the Replica Paintball Pistol options out there and if you are a Glock owner looking for a training gun you can use for some additional trigger time outside of a gun range or want to perform realistic training exercises with live players then the Umarex T4E Glock 17 Gen5 CO2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol will fill this need. I am looking forward to testing it out when I make My Field Test Shooting Video as Umarex claims it to have significantly higher fps (350-400) then some of the other replica T4E Paintball guns I have reviewed so far. I guess we will see soon!
In this Vimeo Comparison Review Video I take a look at a selection of Glock CO2 4.5mm Steel BB Pistols, four from Umarex and 1 from KWC. I go over some of the similarities and differences of each of them and ultimately decide which one is my personal favorite out of the bunch based on what I generally look for in an Airgun.
UPDATE: All Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols now ship with the Shorter Barrels!!
In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sean Airgun Shooting range. This product now comes with the longer sticking out barrel to increase the FPS for import into Canada to get it up and over the 360 FPS requirement using a .20 gram Airsoft BB. In my previous video I test out the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistol but swapped out the longer barrel for the shorter barrel to see how much the sorter barrel reduces velocity and also if there is an impact on accuracy? Make sure to watch that video to get the scoop on the shorter barrel with both the Umarex Glock 17 dam Glock 19 GBB Airsoft Pistols
For the velocity portion of this test I placed several .25 gram Airsoft BB’s through my Chronograph and was please to get a very consistent 355 average FPS reading which is very close to the claimed 360 FPS when using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s so if I had been using a lighter BB I would have for sure seen velocity up and over the 360 FPS.
In terms of accuracy the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol also performed really well, maybe not as well as the short barrel Glock 19 Gen 3 I tested just last week that seemed to group just a little bit tighter and was a little bit more well vented on the target. Both the Glock 17 and Glock 19 shot a bit low but I am sure a slight hop-up tweak could rectify that. I did however manage to get around a 2 - 2.5 inch 10 shot grouping.
So in summary both the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols at least for now come with the longer barrels only and so you options are to either cut down the existing barrel or buy a shorter barrel and replace it, that is unless you like the look of the long sticking out barrel ;) You will get a velocity drop of around 75 FPS with the shorter barrel installed but I would say accuracy should be about the same at the end of the day.
UPDATE: All Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols now ship with the Shorter Barrels!!
In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistol in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sean Airgun Shooting range. This product now comes with the longer sticking out barrel to increase the FPS for import into Canada to get it up and over the 360 FPS cut off using a .20 gram Airsoft BB. I wanted to see how much of a difference the shorter barrel would make so I will be comparing the short barrel with the long barrel to find out the FPS and accuracy differences. In the Video I only shoot the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistol with the short barrel but in my next video I Shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol with its included long barrel for comparison.
For the velocity portion of this test I placed 5 .25 gram Airsoft BB’s through my Chronograph and was please to get a very consistent 276 average FPS reading with the slowest shot hitting 274 FPS and the fastest shot hitting 278 FPS so really close. Keep in mind I was using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s rather than .20 gram Airsoft BB’s so I would imagine the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistol even using the shorter barrel should hit closer to 300 FPS with the lighter Airsoft BB’s.
In terms of accuracy the Umarex Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistol also performed really well, I did not make any adjustments to the gun after installing the shorter barrel not even to the hopup. I was pleased to see a fairly well centered 10 shot grouping mostly within a 2 inch grouping with perhaps one flyer extending that group to about 2.5 inches. All shots where well centered left to right but just a light bit under the target, a quick hopup adjustment should rectify that.
My next Vimeo Video will be focusing on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol with its included long barrel to see what kind of velocity gains we get for it and if the longer barrel helps with accuracy at all so look for that video early next week!
UPDATE: All Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols now ship with the Shorter Barrels!!
Type: Blowback GBB Airsoft Pistols. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:Glock 17 Gen 4 & Glock 19 Gen 3. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.66 Pounds (642 grams) / 1.64 Pounds (634 grams). Barrel: Smooth bore 10.8 inch barrels. Propulsion: Green Gas or Propane. Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 22 / 19 round drop out full size metal magazines. FPS: Claimed 410 with .20 gram Airsoft BB’s.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols is fairly short with only a little bit of take up, the release is light and crips. The blowback action resets the internal Hammer / Striker with each shot for that true single action trigger and it’s also nice that the trigger does have a working trigger safety like the real steel versions.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot either of the long barrel Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FPS which is around 410 using Green Gas or Propane. These longer barreled versions should shoot fairly hot compared to the much shorter barreled versions and since i do have a short barrel Glock 17 Gen 4 I may also compare it at the same time to see what the actual barrel length does in terms of fps velocity. Of course my Field test Shooting video will also focus on accuracy add see what can be accomplished shooting a 10 shot grouping at 30 feet down range.
Build Quality: TheUmarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols seems well made overall. It does seem a little bit underweight but still feels solid enough in the hand, Glocks are not known for being all that hefty. The Slide is metal but has a bit of an unusual finish that makes it look a lot like the plastic frame rather than a more shiny metal look. All the parts seem to fit nicely, maybe even a bit snug at first as I noticed the side had a bit of friction to it but seems to be working in nicely now.
Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 and Glock 19 Gen 3 GBB Airsoft Pistols look the part of these Glocks all day long. Other then the slightly lighter weight it would be hard to tell off hand until you remove the magazine and take a closer look. All the parts work as you would expect them to, similar to the real steel version and you can even fully field strip the them which makes getting to and adjusting the hop-up easy enough to do. Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.
Pros:
Decent weight and feel to them, build quality seems good.
Really nice looking replicas of the original Glock 17 Gen 4 / Glock 19 Gen 3.
Fully Glock licensed via Umarex.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back with rear sight adjustable for windage.
Recessed barrel for added realism when cut down.
Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.
Full size drop out metal magazines that holds the Green Gas and 6mm Airsoft BB’s.
Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard.
Nice light SAO trigger as the blowback action pre-cocks the internal hammer/striker.
Working trigger safeties.
No red tips and more realistic outer barrel size.
Cons:
Only comes with the longer barrel so you need to either cut it down or replace it with a shorter barrel.
No way to put a mock suppressor on it to keep extended barrel.
Comments:
Getting the Umarex BB versions of the Glock 17 and Glock 19 has for sure been a bit easier since fps velocity is not a factor. So it’s great that we at least have a way to import these two Umarex Glock GBB Airsoft Pistols into Canada! Yes some home modifications may be required to cut down the inner barrel as the long extended barrels are certainly not practical for every day shooting. That said with the extended long barrels I did get out and shoot a few rounds through them and the added barrel length really does allow for a much faster velocity Airsoft BB making these Umarex GBB Airsoft Glocks more like snipper pistols :)
If you are interested more in the specifications and details fo reach of these Umarex Glock Licensed Air Pistols you can watch my Table Top Comparison Video where I go into the details and explain the differences of these Glock CO2 BB Pistols.
In Part 2 I test out how accurate each of these Umarex Glock Licensed Air Pistols is side by side to see if Non-blowback versus Partial-blowback versus Full-blowback makes much of a difference? The results may surprise you a little bit so make sure to watch the entire video to see how which Umarex Glock CO2 BB Pistol performs shooting at a paper target from 30 feet away using a rested and seated shooting position for best results.
Here again are the Umarex Glock Licensed CO2 BB Pistols I test out in this Review:
In this Vimeo Shootout Comparison Video I test head to head four Umarex CO2 BB GLock Air Pistols to see what the real world FPS is for each of them and I also give a little bit of my feedback on them at the end of the video. If you are wondering about their accuracy that will be covered in my next video coming out really soon…
And by the way I you want a little more info on these four Umarex Glock Air Pistols then Checkout my Table Top Comparison Video I made earlier for them.
Here are the Umarex Glock CO2 BB Pistols I test out in this Video Review:
Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:Glock 17 Gen 4. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.7 pounds (771 grams). Barrel: 3.6 inches metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 300.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is single action only so you will need to rack the slide first to not only chamber a 4.5mm Steel BB in the breach area but to also cock the internal striker. There is a working trigger safety on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol and you’ll also find the Glock 17 Gen 4 has a nice short and light trigger as you would expect similar to the real steel Glock. Perfect for fast action shooting!
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is 300. That sounds reasonable based on other Airguns like this that have that full blowback action since much of the CO2 gas is used to work the action of the slide. This not only reduces how many shots you can expect o get out of a single 12 gram CO2 cartridge but a reduction in power over non-blowback or even partial blowback CO2 Airguns.
Build Quality: TheUmarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol looks to be well made overall with metal and plastic parts where you would find them on a real steel Glock 17 Gen 4. Fit and finish are nice and the slide wiggle is next to zero. The slide spring is very heavy and the sound of the slide when racked and released does not have that cheap metallic sound some blowback Airguns have. I am expecting some pretty decent blowback action recoil from the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol when I do my Field Test Shooting Review!
Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol 100% looks the part of a Glock 17 4th Generation, sitting on the table and even holding it in your hand you are going to think it's the real deal until of course you drop the magazine and see that it is a BB/CO2 mag. Mostly everything operates like a real Glock 17 including the slide catch release, trigger safety, magazine release and even the take down switches for quick field stripping and access to the adjustable hop-up, yes it is adjustable. Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.
Pros:
Good weight and feel to it, build quality seems very good.
Really nice looking and full featured replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 4.
Fully Glock licensed through Umarex.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Recessed barrel for added realism.
Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 18 4.5mm steel BB’s.
Slide spring feels heavier than most full blowback Airguns, should have a heavy blowback recoil effect.
Safety built into the serial number plate area keeps it well hidden.
Comes with additional Backstraps for different sized hands.
Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard.
Great feeling single action only trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.
300 fps is decent for a full blowback BB gun.
Cons:
FPS could be higher but fairly inline with other full blowback CO2 air pistols.
Sight are non-adjustable which is common with low cost Airguns like this one.
Would have liked to have seen more pristine packaging from Glock..
Comments:
I know everyone has been waiting for Umarex to release the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol and here it is finally, does it live up to all the hype and excitement? So far without shooting it I have to say yes, I am very pleased with how the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol looks and feels. There is not too much more you can ask for in a replica Airgun of any kind… it looks like the real steel version, it feels like there real steel version, it functions like there real steel version. Hopefully it shoots just as well! If you haven’t bought one of the Umarex Glocks so far then this one is the one to have, but I say why not have them all :)
Type: Blowback GBB Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:Glock 17 Gen 4. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.45 pounds (658 grams). Barrel: 3.75 inches metal non-rifled. Propulsion: Green Gas or Propane. Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 20 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 300+.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol is fairly short with only a little bit of take up, the release is light and crips. The blowback action resets the internal Hammer / Striker with each shot for that true single action trigger and it’s also nice that the trigger does have a working trigger safety.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is around 300 using Green Ga or Propane. This is fine for playing Airsoft games but for Canada import it can get a bit sticky. Luckily we where able to get a bunch into Canada so hopefully we can get some more in our Canada Replica Airguns Store in the future… US supply will be less of a problem.
Build Quality: TheUmarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol seems well made overall. It does seem a little bit underweight but still feels solid enough in the hand. The Slide is metal but has a bit of an unusual finish that makes it look a lot like the plastic frame rather than a more shiny metal look. All the parts seem to fit nicely, maybe even a bit snug at first as I noticed the side had a bit of friction to it but seems to be working in nicely now.
Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol looks the part of a Glock 17 4th Generation all day long. Other then the slightly lighter weight it would be hard to tell off hand until you remove the magazine and take a closer look. All the parts work as you would expect them to, similar to the real steel version and you can even fully field strip the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol which makes getting to and adjusting the hop-up easy enough to do. Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.
Pros:
Decent weight and feel to it, build quality seems good.
Really nice looking replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 4.
Fully Glock licensed.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Recessed barrel for added realism.
Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 20 6mm Airsoft BB’s.
Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard
Nice light SAO trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.
Working trigger safety.
Cons:
May or may not come with an orange tip but can be fairly remissly removed.
Sight are non-adjustable which is common with low cost airguns like this one.
FPS is a bit low making Canada import difficult.
Comments:
Getting the Umarex BB versions of the Glock 17 and Glock 19 has for sure been a bit easier since fps velocity is not a factor. So it was great that we where able to import at least some of these Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistols into Canada. I hope we will be able to continue supplying the Glock Airsoft versions in our Canada Replica Airguns Store but I can not promise anything… So if you see some in stock then grab one while you still can!
Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:Glock 17 Gen 3. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.6 pounds (726 grams). Barrel: 4 inches metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto blowback, double action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 365.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is in a way a single action trigger since the blowback action pre-cocks the internal hammer allowing for a much lighter single action type trigger pull. I call it a a double action trigger mainly because there is an indexing of a BB from the magazine into the breach area every time you pull the trigger which means the take up is long and there is a little bit of friction from the mechanical mechanism that indexes a BB.
Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is 365. That's sounds reasonable based on other similar guns like this that have that parcial blowback action and BB indexing system to allow for a more sealed system. We will find out when I perform my Field Test Shooting video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol shortly.
Build Quality: TheUmarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol seems well made overall, Fit and finish are nice and slide wiggle is minimal. There is a bit of a clanky sound when the slide cycles but since pretty much all of these types of airguns are made out of pot metal with a high con ten of zinc alloy this is kind of expected.
Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol absolutely looks the part of a Glock 17 3rd Generation, sitting on the table and even holding it in your hand you are going to think it's the real deal until of course you drop the magazine and see that it is a Co2 mag. Mostly everything operates like a real Glock 17 but the slide is not a full blowback meaning it only goes back about 3/4 as much as a real Glock 17 slide would. One other noticeable difference is the ability to quickly field strip the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, you will need to remove a pin since the take down tabs are non functioning and moulded into the frame. Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.
Pros:
Great weight and feel to it, build quality seems good.
Really nice looking replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 3.
Fully Glock licensed.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Recessed barrel for added realism.
Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 18 4.5mm steel BB’s.
Safety built into the serial number plate area keeps it well hidden.
Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard
Not bad feeling double action only trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.
365 fps is decent for a blowback BB gun.
Cons:
Does have blowback action but not full blowback.
Slide sound is a bit clanky.
Sight are non-adjustable which is common with low cost airguns like this one.
Would have liked to have seen more pristine packaging from Glock.
Comments:
Since there release of the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol we have all been waiting for a blowback version and now we have it in the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol! Defiantly another step in the right direction when it comes to a Licensed Glock. Am I looking forward to the Glock 17 Gen 4 Blowback BB Pistol, sure but if you’re a Glock fan why not have them all and this version will get you a bit higher fps and more shots per CO2 while still offering blowback action with a decent trigger!
In this Vimeo Preview Video I show off three new Glock and Glock-like Air Pistols. Two of them are from Umarex and are Glock Licensed, one being a GGB Airsoft Pistol and the other is a CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I also show an unlicensed Glock-like CO2 Blowback BB Pistol from KWC that kind of looks like a glock but has several key differences that do make it deviate a fair amount from that of a true Glock pistol.
Starting with the KWC 17. At first glance you may think it looks a lot like a Glock but on closer inspection it has the following differences: Notched out trigger guard, extended thumb guard or beaver tail, straight pistol grip with no finger indents, cut out on slide, slide serration on front. The KWC 17 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a full blowback Airgun with a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 17 rods of 4.5mm steel BB’s. You can expect to get around 330 fps for it.
Another Blowback CO2 BB Glock is the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol which is fully Glock licensed and also features a full size drop out metal magazine that hold 18 4.5mm steel BB’s. The Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a partial blowback Airgun so you can expect a little bit higher velocity of around 365 fps and additional shots per CO2.
Lastly I show you the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol, another fully Glock Licensed airgun with full blowback operation and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds 20 6mm plastic Airsfot BB’s and the either Green Gas or Propane Gas. Velocity will be around 300 fps on this one.
Pickup one of these Glock and Glock-like Airguns form either our Canada or US online Replica Airgun stores!
