John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver FIeld Test Review

In this performance Field Test Shooting Video for the John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver, I test out what the fps velocity is using a fresh standard 12 gram CO2 cartridge and shooting 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph. I then setup a paper target 30 feet down range and shoot 10 rounds into it using the Single Action Only Trigger to see how tight of a grouping I can get out of the box. If you have not already watched my Table Top Video Review for the John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver, then make sure to do so for details and specifications along with some nice close up video.

First up for my velocity fps test of the John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver, I shot 5 rounds through my Chronograph. The slowest fps was 354 and the fastest shot hit an fps of 368, this result averaged 358 fps which was a somewhat under the claimed “up to” 420 fps from AirVenturi, still an OK velocity for shooting pop cans and the likes up to 30-40 feet away. The temperature in the Sea Can was about 20 degrees Celsius which is around 68 degrees Fahrenheit, so a good temperature to get middle of the road performance from a CO2 Airgun like the John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver. In warmer temperatures you can expect higher velocities…

I then placed my paper target on my pellet trap 30 feet downrange and using my standard semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back), I proceeded to shoot 10 rounds into the target with the John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver and I was able to get about a 4 inch grouping well centered up and down but pushed to the left about 3 inches. I am not sure why this shot grouping spread out so much for me as my Crosman Forty Filed Test Review gave me a much better grouping and these guns are literally the same gun with different branding being the only real differences. Maybe I was just off on this day? Hey it happens sometimes!

The John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver is a lower cost mostly plastic Single Action Army Revolver with a fair amount of plastic in the build, but it does feel fairly well built and fairly solid other than being a bit lighter weight. It should produce close to 400 fps velocities in warmer conditions which is more than enough for plinking and pop can shooting which is really what it is built for. I do have to mention that this John Wayne Marshal CO2 BB Revolver for whatever reason is double the price of the Crosman Fortify CO2 BB Revolver I reviewed earlier, so if you don’t care about the John Wayne Licensing, than maybe consider the Crosman version for a lower priced option.

Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver Field Test Review

In this performance Field Test Shooting Video of the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver, I find out what the velocity in fps is using a brand new standard 12 gram CO2 cartridge shooting 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Shooting Range. I then setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and shoot 10 rounds into it shooting in Single Action to see how tight of a grouping I can get out of the box. If you have not already watched my Table Top Video Review for the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver then make sure to check that one out for details and specifications along with some more close up video.

First up for my velocity or fps test of the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver, I shot 6 4.5mm Steel BB’s through my Chronograph. The slowest velocity was 327 fps and the fastest shot hit an fps of 351, this result averaged 345 fps which was a bit under the claimed “up to” 400 fps from Barra, still a usable velocity for shooting pop cans and the likes at 30-40 feet down range. The temperature in the Sea Can was I would say around 20 degrees Celsius which is 68-69 degrees Fahrenheit, so a decent temperature to get middle of the road performance from a CO2 Airgun like the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver. In warmer temperature you can expect closer to the claimed 400 fps.

I then placed my fresh paper target on the pellet trap 30 feet downrange and using my standard semi rested shooting position (hands rested on a sandbag up front and sitting on a stool in the back), I shot 10 rounds into the target and was able to get a respective 2.5 inch shot grouping shooting in Single Action of course. I did notice the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver liked to shoot a bit high, almost 4-5 inches higher than I was aiming but it did center left to right fairly well.

The Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver is a lower cost and almost all plastic Single Action Revolver with only a few internal meat parts in the build, that said it does feel well built and fairly solid in the hand. It may produce that claimed 400 fps velocity by Barra in warmer conditions which is more than enough for plinking and pop can shooting which is really what the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver is designed to do. I found it to be accurate enough for it’s intended purpose but it did push a little high on the target out of the box, at least my demo unit would require me to aim a little under my intended target by about 4-5 inches at 30 feet away for near bullseye shots as there is no way to adjust the sights manually. The Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver will provide lots of shots per CO2 and has a much higher capacity magazine holding 18 rounds as compared to other shell loading revolvers that only hold 6 rounds. If you’re OK with a bit less realism, then the Barra Cowboy Series 1858 CO2 BB Revolver may even outperform the more expensive and more realistic Single Action Army Revolvers on the market at a less expensive price point.

Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver Table Top Review

TypeBB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Crosman.
Model: Fortify.
Materials: Mostly plastic, some internal metal parts.
Weight:1 pound (455 grams).
Total Length: 10.5 inches (26.6cm).
Barrel: 5.55 inches 14cm) metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2.
Action: Revolver SAO.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm Steel BB’s.
Ammunition Capacity: 18 round internal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 420.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver is a single action only trigger, so you will have to cock the hammer back before each shot which does take away most of the trigger pull length and weight, making it short and light and easy to shoot. Perfect for slowed down accurate shot placement, but less effective as an action shooter.

Accuracy: I have not tested out the Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver any capacity, nor do I have any experience with it as the design is new from Crosman and I have not seen it before with any other Airgun on the market. So for now all we can go on is what Crosman claims, which is around 420fps and when it comes to accuracy your guess will be as good as mine so keep checking back for my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video for the Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver were I will test the velocity and accuracy out in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Shooting Range.

Build Quality: When it comes to the build for the Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver, there is not a lot to write home about. It is basically a mostly plastic gun with some metal parts internally like the barrel, trigger, hammer and CO2 area. The Crosman Fortify has that lower cost Airgun, two halves, screwed together build which generally looks better on the side without the screws showing. As it is mostly plastic it is very light in the hand at around a pound or so. Overal there are not a lot of moving parts so it should be reliable enough just because of this. All the mechanical components do what they need to do and feel solid enough.

Realism: The Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver at a glance looks a lot like a Colt Single Action Army Revolver, it has the same shape and size but the weight is very slight. The lack of actual bullet holes in the cylinder looking from the front of the revolver also takes away from the realism. I guess I am really used to the new generation revolvers with working cylinders and real loadable shells but these guns are more expensive and hold less ammo as they are genuine to the 6 shooter capacity.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive revolver as compared to other shell loading styled revolvers out there.

  • A decent looking replica of a Colt Single Action Army revolver.

  • Single action only trigger is short and light and well suited to careful shot placement shooting.

  • 420 claimed fps is about perfect for plinking at ranges up 30-40 feet.

  • 18 round magazine has a nice high capacity and easy to load when empty

  • Safety is well thought out and built into an already existing part of the gun rather than simply adding a switch afterwards.

  • I like the look with the all back frame and bone white grips.

  • CO2 Allen key is built into grip so always have it on hadn’t and will not lose it.

Cons:

  • Mostly plastic builds makes it a bit light in the hand.

  • No fake shell holes in the front of the cylinder, could have added this for a more genuine look.

  • Safety is rather on the the firm side.

Comments:
The Crosman Fortify Single Action Army CO2 BB Revolver is a completely new concept in design over what we have become use to in todays Single Action Army Revolvers. I want to hold my opinion on it till I actually shoot it as that could make or break this one for me. Maybe if it is a really fun shooter then I can excuse some of the shortcomings it has as a Replica Revolver but I guess we will see in a little bit when I get to my Field Test Shooting Review for it. For under $100 it may be worth it to some to try out especially if you don't already own a Single Action Army Revolver in your Airgun collection.

Top Most Popular Replica Airgun Pistol Design Types

This is not exclusive to Airguns since trends of Airguns are highly influenced by what type of Real Steel Pistols are popular to people. This is often based on what people see portrayed in movies and TV Series, and also promoted online. There is for sure an overlap in what is popular and it is hard to say what is influencing what? Is it the popularity of Pistols out in the real world that influences what we see being used in the movies and on TV? Or is it what we see in Movies and TV that influences our choices of pistols out in the real world? Perhaps it is a combination of both?

My list is based on my own personal experience and does not represent the entirety of types of Pistol designs available.

  • Glock

  • Sig Sauer

  • 1911

  • Beretta 92 / 84

  • S&W M&P

  • Makarov / Walther PPK

  • 357 / 44 Magnum / Colt Single Action Army

  • Desert Eagle

KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Pellet Air Pistol.
Distributer: KWC.
Model: PM Makarov Pellet.
Materials: Metal and polymer build.
Weight: 1.7 pounds (754 grams).
Barrel: Rifled steel.
Propulsion: CO2 x1.
Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only.
Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets.
Ammunition Capacity: 12 rounds (2x6).
FPS: 344-370.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol is not going to make for the best action shooter out there as it is a double action only shooter when compared to a single action only trigger or a single and double action trigger. That said it works fairly well as long as you make sure to fully release it after each shot, short releases may result in the hammer not going back all the way and a misfire. As with most double action triggers it is a bit long and slightly heavy but not unusable, just be prepared to get a little bit of a finger workout.

Accuracy: I have not shot the KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol just yet but will be doing so shortly so stay posted for my Full Field Test Shooting Video for the KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol. I expect it to do fairly well in terms of accuracy and power since there is no blowback, it is a pellet shooter after all and the barrel is rifled. We will see shortly…

Build Quality: The KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol is built just like all the other KWC Airguns, it’s not going to be the best quality but it is decent and KWC has been making Airguns for a while not just for themselves but for other companies like Umarex, Gletcher, ASG, Crosman and even Sig Sauer. You will find metal on this gun where it matter. The slide, the full size drop out metal magazine and of course lots of internal parts. The frame, trigger, fake hammer and safety are all plastic. Fit and finish is good overall and the fact that this is a fairly simple Airgun design with no blowback, so less moving parts means there is less chance for something to go wrong so it should last a while even with lots of use.

Realism: The KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol really does look and feel like a real steel Makarov PM semi auto pistol with the exception of the ejection port which is not cut out. everything is really believable even though not all the parts work like the slide, slide catch release and fake hammer. On a real Makarov PM the frame would also be metal adding to the overall weight but the KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol comes in at 1.7 pounds which is actually very close to the weight of a non-loaded real steel Makarov PM which weighs around 1.6 pounds but will be a lot heavier fully loaded.

Available at the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Good weight and solid feeling gun. Lots of metal where you need it in the slide, magazine and other internals.

  • All metal full size drop out magazine holds CO2 and 12 pellets.

  • Decent looking replica of a Makarov PM.

  • Not a lot of writing on the gun, very clean looking (Non Ranger version).

  • Recessed barrel helps with look of realism.

  • Rifled barrel will help with accuracy.

  • Non-blowback operation with increased fps and CO2 efficiency.

  • Working safety in same position as real steel version.

  • Double action trigger is a bit long but not overly heavy so should be decent for action shooting.

Cons:

  • No blowback, slide is fixed and does not move either.

  • Hammer moves but does not cock back for single action shooting and is made out of plastic.

  • Sights are not adjustable and are all black so shooting at darker objects will be a bit more challenging.

  • Hard to tell when out of ammo, have to listen to the sound or count shots.

Comments:

It is nice to see more full size drop out metal magazine Replica Pellet Pistols coming out in the Airgun market. Generally speaking most are going to be non-blowback but there are a few blowback options. That said a Non-blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol like the KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol will typically give you a high velocity and more shots per CO2 and can even be a little bit better in the accuracy department since there is virtually no recoil from them. The KWC PM Makarov Non-Blowback CO2 Pellet Pistol is a nice little Replica Airgun that looks the part, feels the part and hopefully turns out to be a fun and accurate Pellet Plinker at the end of the day.

BB Versus Airsoft Full Auto Fun Video 3 Top Pick

I have another Full Auto Fun Video this one focusing on 4.5mm Steel BB Versus 6mm Plastic and which one is better in terms of accuracy and shredding power. I perform this super scientific test by shooting obviously in full auto two comparable Steel BB and Plastic Airsoft Rifles at a paper target setup 20 feet away with a magazine as a backer so I can see what the accuracy is like and how much of the paper magazine gets shredded by each ammo being tested.

I have split this video into three separate videos, in video one I compare two similar AR styled rifles, a CO2 powered Blowback 4.5mm BB Rifle to a Gas Blowback 6mm Airsoft Rifle. In video two I compare two AK type Blowback Rifles to each otters, again a CO2 4.5mm Steel BB along with a Gas 6mm Airsoft.

And lastly in Video three I compare my top picks for each category which include a non-Blowback CO2 4.5mm BB Machine gun to an AEG 6mm Airsoft Rifle.

In this video (Video Three) the Airguns being used are the Original Baikal Drozd CO2 BB Machine Gun and the Tokyo Marui CQBR Block1 AEG Airsoft Rifle.

Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver Field Test Review

Before I get into this Field Test Shooting Review for the Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver I did want to mention again that we do have a Contest Giveaway going on till the end of this month where we will be giving away an Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver to a Canada or US Winner. Sorry we can not ship outside of Canada or the US due to airgun and import regulations. Make sure to scroll to the bottom of this review to enter the contest.

Back to the Field Test Shooting Review! Rather than just testing the 3.5 inch barreled Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver by itself, I also compare it to two other Umarex SAA Revolvers, in 5.5 and 7.5 inches version. I wanted to see how the barrel length effected power and accuracy and I was kind of surprised at the results.

I shot three rounds from each Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver through my Chrony Chronograph and averaged them out for each gun. Umarex claims the Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver to get around 340 fps and it shot an average of 323fps with a brand new CO2 and using 8.2 gram lead pellets, not bad at all considering the pellet weight and colder temperature of around 15 degrees Celsius. next I shot the 5.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver in the same manner and averaged 347fps which is kind of what I was expecting die to the anger barrel. SO when I came to the 7.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver I was expecting even higher results but was surprised by my results which where exactly the same as the 3.5 inch version coming in at 323fps? Perhaps the valve was a bit detuned on the 7.5 inches version, I am not sure?

Moving on to the accuracy performance for the Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver. Again I sued the same 8.2 grain RWS flathead pellets and emptied a full cylinder into my paper target positioned 30 feet downrange. My accuracy result for the Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver where decent with my 6 shoot group getting around a 2 inches and well centered on the target, just a lad high but not by much. I am pretty sure I pulled one of the shots so I think I should of gotten closer to 1.5 inches. Next I Shot the 5.5 inch UmarexSAA Pellet Revolver but seemed to struggle a bit with it. I found the 5.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver shot to the left and my 6 shot grouping was a lot more spread out exceeding 2 inches by a bit. Lastly I tested out the 7.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver and it was the clear winner placing all 6 rounds wishing the black bullseye getting close to a 1 inch grouping. I love it when that happens :)

So in the end the 5.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver had the most power, the 7.5 inch Umarex SAA Pellet Revolver was the most accurate and that leaves us with the Umarex Legends Ace in the Hole SAA Pellet Revolver which had the best compromise of power and accuracy at the end of the day.

Baikal MP-53M Break Barrel .177 Pellet Air Pistol Sea Can Shooting Review

Yet another retest for an airgun I have already reviewed. But some airguns need another "shot"! Today I just kind of felt like shooting a springer and the Baikal MP-53M Break Barrel .177 Pellet Air Pistol came to mind. I'm not the best at shooting spring pistons airguns since they take a more softer relaxed grip and I tend to hold guns with a bit of a firmer grip.

If you're interested you can watch my previous Field Test Shooting Video for the Baikal MP-53M I performed a couple years back outside on my deck.

As always in my new Sea Can Shipping Container I perform a Chronograph velocity test to see what the real world feet per second is and  then I perform a followup accuracy test shooting 10 rounds at a paper target 30 feet down range using a rested seated position. During the velocity Chrony test for the Baikal MP-53M Break Barrel .177 Pellet Air Pistol I was able to get an average of 405 fps which was much higher than my previous testing where I averaged 319 fps. I was using different 7 grain lead pellets but I don't think they where that much different in weigth since the Diabolo pellets should have been around 6-7 grain.

Moving onto the accuracy portion of my Field Test review, this time around my shots stayed a little tighter than last time stretching out to about 2 inches but most of the 10 shots where all within 1 to 1.5 inches. The trigger on the Baikal MP-53M Break Barrel .177 Pellet Air Pistol is really great, super light with just a little take-up and virtually a hair trigger after that with zero friction.

I also wanted to mention that cocking the Baikal MP-53M Break Barrel .177 Pellet Air Pistol is fairly easy and that I did find I needed to set the rear sigh to the all the way down position to get my shots to hit close to the bullseye as this gun seemed to like to shoot rather high out of the box.

Shooting Airguns in the Finished Shipping Container

Well the Shipping Container Office and Airgun Shooting Range is finally all ready to use and so for this first ever airguns shooting video in it,  I simply wanted to try out a couple of airguns and see how this new setup worked. I also wanted to play around with some camera position setup to see how it all looked and if there will be any additional lighting or placement considerations.

In this video I do a walk around to show off the new completed Shipping Container setup and then I shoot my 6.75 inch barreled Umarex Colt Single Action Army SAA Pellet Revolver followed by my ASG X9 Classic Beretta M9 CO2 Blowback 4.5mm BB Pistol.

Umarex Colt Single Action Army SAA Pellet Revolver Table Top Review

Type: Pellet air revolver.

Distributed by:UmarexUSA.

Model:Single Action Army Revolver with Colt licensing

Materials: Mostly metal with plastic grips.

Weight: 2.35 pounds (1070  grams).

Barrel: 6.75 inches rifled.

Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.

Action: Revolver, single action only.

Ammunition Type: .177 cal. pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: 380.

Trigger Pull: Trigger pull on all the Umarex Single Action Army BB and Pellet Revolver is really great. Being that these Single Action Army Revolvers are single action only, most of the work is done while you pre-cock the hammer with your thumb. The trigger single action pull is under 2 pounds and has virtually no take up with a crisp release. I love the ratcheting sound of the cylinder as you pull back the hammer just like using a real SAA Revolver!

Accuracy: I have not yet tested the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Nickel & Gold Pellet Revolver so far but expect it to perform very similarly to the 4.5 inch barreled pellet shooting version I tested a while back. On that Field Test Shooting review I was abel to get pretty close to the claimed fps with an average of 378 fps. During my accuracy portion shooting from 30 feet back onto a paper target I got a very respectable .75 inch 6 shot grouping using a semi rested position. I do expect the slightly longer barrel on the Nickel and Gold version to perhaps improve fps slightly.

Build Quality: All of the Colt Single Action Army BB and Pellet Revolvers have a mostly all metal construction other than the plastic grips and any seals. The fit and finish is excellent with a great overall weight in the hand. The mechanical action of the hammer and trigger feels just like it would on a real single action army revolver. I really like the two tone nickel and Gold finish on this longer barreled SAA revolver.

Realism: In terms of replicating a real steel Colt Single Action Army Revolver, again these Umarex old west 6 shooters are absolutely amazing replicas. It's really hard to tell the airgun version apart from the real steel version, with the exception of the smaller diameter shells and the discreet safety switch located under the frame. Even the barrel is nicely recessed and has some fake rifling twists in it to give the appearance of a large caliber barrel opening. The CO2 is well hidden with the Allen key built into the handle so no ugly CO2 screw tab hanging down.

Available in the:Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Still the best airgun reproduction of the Single Action Army Revolver, a very accurate replica of the real steel old west version.

  • Nice large caliber Recessed barrel.

  • Great weight and feel in the hand.

  • Shell loading design that loads from the back so no need to remove shells if you wish not to.

  • Hammer and trigger action is about perfect, no take-up, very crisp and super light (under 2 pounds).

  • Nickel and Gold finish looks really great!

  • Colt licensing via Umarex.

  • Very well concealed CO2 with built in Allen key.

  • Discreet safety location under the frame.

  • Longer barrel is unique and should get a bit higher fps than the standard  shorter barreled versions.

Cons:

  • A lot more expensive than the standard barrel length in standard finishes.

  • Real version would shoot 45 caliber, dummy shells are actual closer to 357 so a bit smallish.

  • The safety in all of these ghost is really firm and hard to change.

Comments:

We have pretty much established that these Umarex Colt Single Action Army pistols are fantastic airgun copies of the old west real steel 6 shooters in pretty much every way. For this reason they have been super popular! The Umarex Colt Single Action Army Nickel & Gold Pellet Revolver is yet another rendition of this same airgun but with a longer barrel and the tow tone Gold and Nickel finish. You will pay a bunch more for the longer barrel and two tone finish, is it worth it? If your on a budget perhaps not but if you want something that really stands out and may even perform just a little better than pony up the extra bucks and pick one of these beauties up.

Which Shells Work in Which Shell Loading Revolvers?

I have often been asked which of the Shells for the Shell Loading Revolvers work in which Shell Loading Revolvers? After all many of them look a lot alike so can you mix and match Shells for the various types of Shell Loading Revolvers?

In this Vimeo Instructional Video I test out a bunch of Shells to see which ones actually will work or not work in several of the most popular Shell Loading Revolvers.

Some of the Shell Loading Revovers Tested in this Instructional Video are:

Umarex Colt Single Action Army CO2 Pellet Revolver Field Test Review

Make sure to checkout some of my other Colt Single Action Army Videos as I have done some Table Top and shooting videos for the BB shooting version of this pistol.

This Field Test Shooting Video Review focuses on the performance results of the Umarex Colt Single Action Army CO2 Pellet Revolver. I put it through its paces to see what kind of feet per second performance it can achieve using .7 grain RWS lead pellets. I also perform my standard 6 shot Revolver accuracy test from a 30 foot back semi rested shooting position to see how this classic cowboy 6 shooter groups on a paper target.

In my first portion of the fps velocity test, I used my somewhat temperamental Chronograph shooting several RWS 7 grain lead pellets using a brand new CO2. I really did not have much luck with my Chronograph today, it did not seem to like the lead pellets I was using? I went through 12 shots and only got 3 decent readings which where rather spread apart. 318, 484 and 333 fps for an average of 378 fps. I can say that when shooting the Umarex Colt Single Action Army CO2 Pellet Revolver the pellets do seem to get to the target pretty quickly and my gut estimate is that they are moving somewhere in the high 300 to low 400 fps range.

Next on my Field Test Shooting list was the accuracy portion of this review where I did not have to worry about my tech gear working properly! I performed my standard 30 foot back paper target shooting test using a semi-rested position, standing in the back with a sandbag up front to rest my hands on for stability. This position is nice and steady but not perfect so there is always some human factor to consider and I know at least one of the 6 shots went a bit high on the account of me pulling that one shot just a little bit. Removing that one shot I kind of blew, I was able to get a very tight .75 inch grouping with the Umarex Colt Single Action Army CO2 Pellet Revolver. And looking back at the video my hold was a little on the jittery side, perhaps one too many espresso this morning...

I am a huge fan of these Umarex distributed Colt Single Action Army CO2 Pellet Revolvers, they now come in 4.5mm Steel BB, .177 caliber lead pellet and even Airsoft versions so you can take your pick depending on your intended use. If you want the best accuracy then definitely go for the pellet shooting version with its rifled barrel as you should be able to hit a quarter at 30 feet with it all day long.

Mike's Personal Guns for Sale - BB Rifles

I am showcasing here on the Replica Airguns website and over on the Replica Airguns YouTube channel a series of videos I am making for the purpose of selling some guns out of my personal collection. I simply have no more room for the new guns and in some cases I either have duplicate guns or very similar versions so there is no need to have both. Some guns I am less attached to and as I already stated I need to make room for some of the new stuff I will be reviewing and or buying for myself.

In this third Mike's Personal Guns For Sale video I am offering four BB rifles, three of which have full auto or at least burst mode ability and the fourth BB rifles is more of a Shotguns with the ability to shoot three BB's at once. Most of these BB rifles are really hard to get here in Canada now since one is not made anymore and the two are simply not currently being imported into Canada.

Make sure to watch my above YouTube video to see these four BB rifles I am selling and instructions on how you can take part in the sale and purchase of them. By the way I am only selling to Canadian residents since shipping cross borders is a little sketchy.

Here is a list of the BB Rifles I am selling from my personal gun collection:

Umarex EBOS 4.5mm Steel BB Machine Gun $225

John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolver Table Top Review

John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolver Table Top Review

Type: BB or Pellet air revolver.

Distributed by:UmarexUSA and Air Venturi.

Model: Single Action Army Revolver with Colt John Wayne Duke licensing

Materials: Mostly metal with plastic grips.

Weight: 2.1 pounds (953  grams).

Barrel: 4.5 inches, (BB non-rifled) (Pellet rifled)

Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.

Action: Revolver, single action only.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. or .177 cal. pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.

FPS: (BB 410) (Pellet 380).

Trigger Pull: Trigger pull on the John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolver is the best I have ever come across in an airgun. Being that these Single Action Army Revolvers are single action only, most of the work is done while you pre-cock the hammer. The trigger pull is under 2 pounds and has virtually no take up with a crisp release. I love the ratcheting sound as you pull back the hammer just like using a real SAA Revolver!

Accuracy: I have not yet tested these John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolvers so far but expect the BB version to perform for the most part just like the Umarex only versions I tested previously. Here are my notes from my previous testing:

"I tested both 4.5mm steel BB's and 4.7mm Lead ball BB's in the Umarex Colt Single Action Army Shell Loading BB Revolver. With the Steel 4.5mm BB's I shot just under a 2 inch 6 shot grouping when shooting from a 30 foot distance using a semi rested position (Sand bag up front, standing in the back). The shots where pretty well center hitting the paper target just a little bit high, they did seem to stray a little more left and right rather then up and down. When I switch ammo to the 4.7mm Lead BB's I got a similar 2 inch grouping but they hit the target a bit lower and tended to shoot tighter from side to side with more variation up and down, perhaps because the lead BB's did not seem to shoot at a vary consistent velocity. My Chronograph testing for the Steel BB's was right around 400 fps while the Lead BB's being heavier shot a bit slower at just under 300 fps."

Build Quality: The John Wayne Duke Colt SAA BB and Pellet Revolvers have a mostly all metal construction other than the plastic grips and any seals. The fit and finish is excellent with a great overall weight in the hand. Whether you get the Nickel or Weathered version. The mechanical action of the hammer and trigger feels just like it would on a real single action army revolver.

Realism: In terms of replicating a real steel Colt Single Action Army Revolver, these guns are absolutely amazing replicas. It's really hard to tell the airgun version from the real steel version, except for the smaller in diameter shells and the discreet safety switch located under the frame. Even the barrel is nicely recessed and has some fake rifling twists in it to give the appearance of a large caliber round.

  • Recessed barrel has the look of a large caliber bullet.

  • Great weight and feel in the hand.

  • Shell loading design that loads from the back so no need to remove shells if you wish not to.

  • Hammer and trigger action is about perfect, no take-up, very crisp and super light (under 2 pounds).

  • Finish on both the Nickel and Blued is very nice.

  • Colt and John Wayne Duke licensing.

  • Very well concealed CO2 with built in Allen key.

  • Discreet safety location.

  • If you prefer pellets over steel BB, now you have the option.

Cons:

  • Still has the warming instruction on the right side of the barrel but not super obvious especially on the Nickel version.

  • Real version would shoot 45 caliber, dummy shells are actual closer to 357 so a bit smallish.

  • Wood grips to me look a little fake up close but the John Wayne emblem kind of makes up for it.

Comments:

Shell loading BB and Pellet revolvers have been out for a while now and have changed the way many of us feel about airgun revolvers. Airgun revolvers used to be kind of overlooked because they where not the most exciting replica airguns out there but now we have not only the new Dan Wesson 715 shell loading revolvers but also these Colt Single Action Revolvers with Colt and John Wayne Duke licensing on them available in both BB and pellet shooting versions! There is something special about these old cowboy day classic revolver that makes them so elegant and just a real work of art you can not only own and look at but also take out and shoot whenever the spirit moves you to do so!
