RAP4 - RAP5 4.5mm BB MP5 Machine Gun Just Arrived

It has been a hell of a past week but I will continue my pursuit of my passion for airguns and blank guns. And to be honest, nobody has really tried to stop me. The events of the past week did dim my spirits a bit but I am feeling a bit more like myself these days partly do to the arrival of a new toy - The RAP4 - RAP5 4.5mm BB shooting semi and full auto PDW.

This RAP5 (made by Real Action Paintball) is a very well made MP5 replica that started life out as a .43 caliber paintball gun, I purchased mine already converted to the 4.5mm steel BB version. If you have the .43 caliber paintball version you can purchase a 4.5mm BB or a 6mm Airsoft barrel conversion kit separately from RAP4. The standard magazine works with either conversion kit but you will need to purchase the shell ejecting plastic adaptors that you place the BB's into and then into the magazine.

The RAP5 I ordered came with a refillable 60 gram CO2 tank that fits on the back and is perfectly concealed by the rear stock. You can also remove the stock and attach a larger HPA or CO2 bottle directly to the RAP5. I did just that today to try it out and the gun worked flawlessly in both semi and full auto mode using my HPA bottle.

I of course will be doing a full review of this very cool shell ejecting BB machine gun shortly and I will show you my custom made shell casing catcher!

Crosman - Kimar CK92 CO2 Beretta 92FS Pellet Pistol Review

Type: Pellet air pistol.

Manufacturer:Crosman & Kimar.

Model:CK92.

Materials: Mostly metal.

Weight: 2.6 pounds.

Barrel: 4.25 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, single and double action.

Ammunition Type: .177 cal. pellets.

Ammunition Capacity: 8 round rotary magazine.

FPS: 394.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman - Kimar CK92 is absolutely excellent! Single action is very light and smooth and double action is almost exactly the same. The CK92 has one of the lightest and smoothest double action trigers out of all my airguns and that's saying a lot!

Accuracy: I shot the Crosman - Kimar CK92 air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting about a two inch grouping right close to the center, just to the right. Most of the rounds stayed in a one inch group while two rounds strayed away a bit. I had a very awkward grip due to my camera mount so I know this guns should get closer to a one inch grouping with some getting used to it and using a standard grip. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and elevation so hitting the bullseye would not take much work. My Chronograph testing started out a bit rough due to the 10 year absence of shooting this gun but once I blew out some of the cobwebs it settled in at around the 350 fps mark and I was also able to get 10 magazines worth of shots before I noticed a drop in performance.

Build Quality: The Crosman- Kimar CK92 is built like a tank, it is probably one of my heaviest pellet pistols weighing in at 2.6 pounds! The build quality and craftsmanship is very nice with most of the gun being made out of metal and only a couple parts made from plastic like the grips and part of the rear sight. You can really feel the quality of this gun when you pick it up and squeeze the trigger a few times.

Realism: The CK92 pellet air pistol is a very nice copy of the real steel Beretta 92FS and considering it was made some 10 years ago when most replica air guns still looked mostly like air guns. You really have to give Crosman and Kimar credit for making this gun so close to the actual Beretta 92FS. Everything is exactly where it would normally be on the real Beretta and most of the mechanical part are functional, even if they serve a different purpose as it is an airgun after all.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • The price is right, especially for this condition of collectors item!

  • All metal very heavy and well made gun.

  • Pellet shooting with a rifled barrel.

  • Fully adjustable rear sight with windage and elevation.

  • Decent accuracy and power and CO2 usage.

  • CO2 screw and tab are hidden in the handle.

  • Excellent trigger pull in both single and double action.

  • Very good Beretta 92FS replica.

  • Comes in a plastic case.

  • Rare collectors opportunity.

  • Made in Italy

Cons:

  • Have to use narrow headed CO2, can be a bit tricky to load until you get used to it

  • This is a 10 year old gun and hard to tell how reliable it will be because of its age?

  • When they are gone, they are gone! No more in this kind of shape.

Comments:

This was a very different review for me to do, a part of me wanted to just put my two CK92's away in a safe place and just keep them as collectors guns but I was also very curious to see if the CK92 performed as well as it looked and felt. Curiosity got the best of me as you can see and I am glad I ended up testing at least my Chrome CK92 because it was a real joy to shoot and it didn't let me down in any way. I am not going to recommend the CK92 airgun for anyone who plans to shot it regularly because I really believe that 10 year old valves and seals have a lot more potential to fail then a new airgun and getting replacement part will not be easy for this very fine air pistol. That said, you may get lucky because it's a very well made air gun. Personally I am going to put both my Chrome and Black Crosman - Kimar CK92's in a nice safe place and treasure them like you would anything rare and valuable. I think these guns are selling at a steel of a price right now and when they are all gone I just know people will be offering me several times the price I paid for my personal Chrome and Black Crosman - Kimar CK92's, and I will tell you my answer right now... Sorry, these guns are not for sale.

Crosman - Kimar CK92 Chrome Pellet Pistol Arrives

I received my black Crosman - Kimar CK92 Beretta styled pellet pistol last week and I got my Chrome CK92 today, and wow does it ever look nice! I was kind of shocked by how nice this collector piece looked, my black CK92 looks nice but the chrome version is something else. I'd almost say it looks more like polished metal then a chrome plating and there is a difference. I like the more mechanical look of polished metal personally!

The Chrome CK92 also comes with a really nice hard shell case with cut-outs for the gun which is a bit nicer hard case then the one that comes with the Black CK92. So for the extra $20 it may be worth it for some of you.

The Chrome version is selling as a refurbished unit for $119 and when it's gone that's it. I'm not planning on using this gun all that often, I bought it mainly as a collectors airgun. I will be reviewing both of my Crosman - Kimar CK92's this week so stay tuned for my full video review...

Guns for use in TV - Movie - Stage - Internet - Photo

I get a fair bit of interest and questions from people in the TV, Movie, Stage, Internet and Photo business looking for guns they can use in their productions, so I thought I would put together an informative video to show them some options available to them at least here in Canada.

The problem is a lot of times a "Gun Handler" is required, as in many cases real firearms are used and very strict guidelines need to be in place for obvious safety reasons. This is most likely the best option in the case of a Matrix styled movie and an extensive amount of guns are required in the production. What if you only need a few guns and you want to keep your budget and complications to a minimum? Well there are other options and that's where I come in.

Watch this short Promotional Video for more information if you are looking for a simplified and easy solution for your realistic gun use in Movie, Stage, Internet and Photo productions.

Crosman Kimar CK92 .177 Caliber Pellet Pistols Now Available

Well it took a long time but the Crosman Kimar CK92 .177 caliber pellet pistols finally arrived from the Kimar factory and they are now on sale. The reason it took so long is because each and every one of them was inspected prior to the entire shipment being released. Guess that's a good thing at the end of the day and worth waiting for!

Originally we thought they where going to be brand spanking new but when they arrived the years sitting around in the Kimar factory has aged them just a bit but not like the age of a used gun for sure.

Because of this we have decided to sell them as Refurbished units and as a refurbished unit we have dropped the price just a bit on them and they are now $99 for the black and $119 for the Chrome. We also got less then we expected, I guess some did not pass the tests so we won't have these forever and they may go up near the end.

Just to summaries what the CK92 is:

  • A Crosman and Kimar joint production
  • Originally made from 2000-2001
  • .177 cal. Pellets
  • 8 Round magazine
  • CO2 Powered
  • 394 fps
  • 8.4 Inches long
  • Single and double action
  • Fully adjustable rear sight
  • All metal design
  • 2.6 Pounds (Heavy!)
  • Made in Italy
  • Beretta 92FS Replica
  • Available in Black and Chrome
  • A real collectors item!

Cybergun IWI Jericho 941 Metal Slide CO2 BB Gun Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Manufacturer: Cybergun.

Model:IWI Jericho 941.

Materials: Metal & polymer build.

Weight: 2 pounds.

Barrel: 4.62 inches, brass, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x1.

Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only.

Ammunition Type: Steel BBs 4.5mm.

Ammunition Capacity: 22 rounds

FPS: 443

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IWI Jericho 941 was about medium to hard but defiantly not the worst air gun I have tested. After you quickly shoot off a full CO2 cartridge you may need a bit of a break to rest your trigger finger but the actual shooting experience is just fine.

Accuracy: Accuracy was pretty good for a double action shooter, I got around a 1.5 inch grouping from a 20 foot away free standing position, shooting just a hair to the left but a bit on the high side. It is a bit unfortunately that the Jericho 941 does not have sight elevation adjustments as it would make a very accurate airgun otherwise. I also put the Cybergun IWI Jericho 941 through my Chrony Chronograph and got very impressive FPS results, actually starting off and staying well above the claimed manufacturers FPS. My 8 shot average on a new CO2 was a very high 488 FPS, again well above Cybergun's claimed 443 FPS.

Build Quality: Very good, the Jericho 941 weights in at about 2 pounds which is a very hefty weight for a medium sized pistol. The build quality and fit and finish is good all around with decent usage of metal in the slide, magazine, outer barrel and trigger.

Realism: The Cybergun IWI Jericho 941 is very close to the look, weight, and feel of the real Israel Weapons Industries Jericho 941! Even though it doesn't have a working slide it definitely looks the part with the Licensed trade marks, cut out ejection port, full size drop out metal magazine and recessed metal barrel.

Available From: The Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Very good weight and solid feeling gun.

  • Metal Slide and metal outer barrel.

  • All metal full size drop out magazine holds CO2 and BB's.

  • Very accurate IWI Jericho 941 replica with licensing and tradmarks.

  • Excellent FPS, well above claimed!

  • Lots of shots per CO2 - close to 100.

  • Good accuracy for a double action BB shooter.

  • Very affordable.

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

Cons:

  • Non-blowback and the slide is non-functioning.

  • The hammer is only for show and does not cock back for single action shots.

  • Non adjustable rear sights, a bit of a pity with this rather accurate pistol.

  • Trigger action is bit on the heavy side and gets a bit tiring after lots of shooting.

Comments:

I ordered my Cybergun IWI Jericho 941 with two other Cybergun pistols (The Sigarms GSR and Sig Sauer SP2022), all of them in the lower and more affordable price point, the Jericho 941 is definitely the hardest shooting out of the bunch. For a relatively inexpensive BB gun you get good value for your money, most importantly a very accurate reproduction of the real IWI Jericho 941 firearm! If you want to purchase an air pistol replica that's very hard hitting, accurate, get's lots of shots per CO2, has excellent weight and realism then the Jericho 941 may be the airgun for you?

Baikal (IZH) MP-655K CO2 Pellet and BB Gun Review

Type: Pellet & BB air pistol.

Manufacturer: Baikal.

Model:MP-655K.

Materials: Weapons grade metal slide & polymer frame.

Weight: 1.5 pounds.

Barrel: 4.4 inches, metal-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, double and single action.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber lead pellets & 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 8 rounds rotary pellet magazine & 100 round BB hopper.

FPS: 360.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the MP-655K is in the medium range with the single action being a bit lighter due to less cocking effort required. There is some force required to rotate the rotary magazines when shooting both pellets and BB's. It's important to make sure you use pellets that fit the rotary magazine correctly or they may move around and cause the magazine to bind up requiring additional trigger force.

Accuracy: I found the Baikal MP-655K to be a good shooter, this airgun took me some time to get used to however, so make sure to give it some time and also make sure to try an assortment of pellets as they do effect the trigger pull and the trigger pull ultimately effects accuracy. I did get about a 2 inch 8 shot grouping from an unrested 20 foot out position but I know this gun is capable of much better results. BB's also did fairly well in my test results. My Chronograph testing also confirmed that you can expect to get feet per second rating in-between 300 and 360 fps when using both pellets and BB's.

Build Quality: Excellent, like just about all the Baikal products, these guns are built to very high standards. the designs are sometimes unusual but you can count on the quality to be top notch and in most cases there is little to no difference between the materials used in Baikal's real guns and their air guns.

Realism: The Baikal IZH MP-655K is closely based on the real steel Baikal Viking 9mm semi auto pistol, or (Yarygin pistol) the latest Russian standard military-issue side arm. As far is looking and feeling like a real gun, it sure plays the part. Both the air gun version and 9mm version have steel slides and polymer frames.

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Very high quality materials.

  • Tuff looking gun, looks and feels more like a real gun then an airgun

  • Unique design, only 100 round BB pistol that I know of.

  • Easy to load BB's, just dump them in and shoot.

  • Can shoot Pellets and BB's.

  • Shoots both in single and double action.

  • Fully adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Magazine is easy to load CO2, also has storage for extra BB's.

  • Good for lefties too, ambidextrous safety and magazine release.

  • Made in Russia!

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

Cons:

  • You wWill have to read manual and get used to this guns operation.

  • A bit hard to load the pellet magazine at first.

  • Trigger is kind of funny and a bit hard on fingers.

Comments:

The Baikal MP-655K Pellet and BB Air pistol is another excellent product from Baikal, it is an extremely unique air gun in that it shoots both pellets with an 8 shot rotary magazine but can also shoot up to 100 BB's with its integrated 100 round BB hopper and special adapted magnetized rotary BB magazine! The quality of this gun is outstanding and there are tons of great features like the rifled barrel, fully adjustable sights, single and double action trigger, moving slide with slide catch, weapons grade materials and of course the ability to shoot both pellets and BB's. You are going to need to take some extra time to fully understand how to best use this air gun but the extra effort is well worth it in the end!

Added the Umarex SA177 Blowback BB Pistol to the Store

After what seemed like an eternity, I finally caved in to popular demand and brought the very Glock-like Umarex SA177 Blowback BB Pistol to the Replica Airguns Store!

I stepped it up a notch and have included not just one but two magazines with every SA177 so you can practice your quick magazine changes and just keep on shooting :) After all, isn't that what you really want to do?

Here 's some more info on the SA177 from Umarex:

The Umarex SA177 BB Repeater is modeled after the popular Glock carry pistol widely used by governmental agencies, and it uses blowback action to simulate a real firearm. The metal slide and integrated accessory rail add to the overall realism of this gun. A drop-out metal magazine houses the CO2 and 19 BBs for the air pistol. The fiber optic sights and ergonomic grips allow for accurate and comfortable shooting at up to 400 fps velocity which is very high for a gun in this price range and with blowback functionality.

  • 4.5mm BB
  • CO2 Powered
  • 19 round metal magazine
  • 400 fps
  • 1.5 pounds
  • 4.1 inch steel non-rifled barrel
  • Double action
  • Blowback
  • Metal slide - polymer frame
  • Tactical Rail Mount
  • Fiber optic sights
  • Comes with two magazines

Cybergun Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms All Metal CO2 BB Gun Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Manufacturer: Cybergun.

Model: GSR SIGARMS.

Materials: Mostly metal build.

Weight: 2.4 pounds.

Barrel: 5.2 inches, brass, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x1.

Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only.

Ammunition Type: Steel BBs 4.5mm.

Ammunition Capacity: 21 rounds

FPS: 397

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms was about medium to hard but I have definitely experienced heavier trigger pulls on some guns. It is nice that the trigger is in the style of a 1911 and not your typical lever styled trigger. This may be one reason why the pull is a bit heavier on the GSR.

Accuracy: Accuracy was decent but not outstanding, I got around a 2.5 inch grouping from a 20 foot away free standing position, shooting just to the left and high on the target. I did find that I was able to zone in a bit better with the Cybergun GSR as I got used to the trigger. I also put the Cybergun Sig Sauer GSR through my Chrony Chronograph and got very close the manufacturers 397 claimed feet per second, actually starting off well above it and settling down to around the 370 FPS mark. My 8 shot average on a new CO2 was actually 422 FPS.

Build Quality: Very good, this is an almost all metal gun with a few exceptions like the hammer, trigger. magazine release, slide catch and the outer barrel. Pretty much everything else is metal including the slide, frame, magazine, and even the grips. The finish is very good and the Cybergun GSR worked flawlessly for me.

Realism: The Cybergun Sig Sauer GSR is very close to the look, weight, and feel of the real GSR Sigarms! Even the 1911 style trigger was used and licensed trademarks on the slide. It would have been nice to have a single action trigger and a working slide to finish off the illusion but overall the GSR is a really nice copy of the real steel Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms firearm.

Available From: The Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Excellent weight and very solid feeling gun.

  • Mostly Metal design.

  • Very Accurate Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms with licensing.

  • Nice high fps results close to manufacturers specifications.

  • Very affordable and good value for the money.

  • Lots of shots per CO2.

  • Nice sights with white dots front and back.

  • Magazine holds both the CO2 and BB's - always nice.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • True 1911 style trigger even though it is double action only.

Cons:

  • Non-blowback and the slide does not move either.

  • The hammer is only for show and does not cock for single action shots.

  • Non adjustable rear sights.

  • Trigger action is bit on the heavy side.

Comments:

I ordered my Cybergun Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms with two other Cybergun pistols (The Jericho 941 and Sig Sauer SP2022), all of them in the lower and more affordable price point, the GSR is the heaviest out of the bunch, most likely because of the metal frame. For a relatively inexpensive BB gun you get a lot for your money, most importantly a very accurate reproduction of the real GSR Sigarms firearm! If you're a 1911 fan and want to pick up an airgun that won't set you back too much, then the Cybergun GSR would make a great choice with it's heavy weight, full size drop out metal magazine, and true 1911 styled trigger.

Cybergun Sig Sauer SP2022 Metal Slide CO2 BB Gun Review

Type: BB air pistol.
Manufacturer: Cybergun.
Model: Sig Sauer SP2022.
Materials: Metal and polymer build.
Weight: 1.7 pounds.
Barrel: 4 inches, brass, non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x1.
Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only.
Ammunition Type: Steel BBs 4.5mm.
Ammunition Capacity: 23 rounds
FPS: 328 (Tested way higher!)
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Sig Sauer SP2028 was much lighter then I expected! As the SP2022 is a double action only pistol, the trigger must first cock the hammer before the hammer can be released, usually requiring additional force. The trigger was a bit long but smooth and light.

Accuracy: Very decent for a low cost short barreled BB shooter, I got just over a 2 inch grouping from a 20 foot away free standing position, shooting just to the left and a bit high. I also put the Cybergun Sig Sauer SP2022 Metal Slide version through my Chrony Chronograph and even though the box has a 328 fps rating on it, I got an incredible 8 shot average velocity of 478 fps and no my Chronograph was not broken! I really don't know what to say abut this? Perhaps my gun was an exception or maybe I accidentally got the "powered Version" as one does exist from Cybegun with a higher 426 fps claimed velocity. Or maybe they are all just this way?
Build Quality: Very good, I was extremely pleased with the fit and finish of my Cybergun Sig Sauer SP2022 Sig Pro! The metal slide and polymer frame along with the all metal full size drop out magazine gave this air pistol a really nice balance and weight to it, I would expect it to be very similar to the real steel as they are both constructed similarly.

Realism: The Cybergun Sig Pro SP2022 is very close to the look, weight, and feel of the real Sig Sauer SP2022 Sig Pro! For a lower cost airgun, I was very impressed with all the detail that it had including the licensing and trademarks throughout the pistol and amazing attention to detail.
Available From: The Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Good weight and very solid feeling gun.
  • Metal slide and all metal full size drop out magazine.
  • Very Accurate licensed Sig Sauer SP2022 replica.
  • Crazy high fps results!
  • Very affordable.
  • Fairly light double action trigger.
  • Magazine holds both the CO2 and BB's - always nice.
  • Recessed barrel for added realism.
  • Good overall accuracy and shots per CO2.

Cons:

  • Non-blowback and the slide does not move either.
  • The hammer is only for show and does not move when firing.
  • Non adjustable rear sights.

Comments:
I ordered my Cybergun Sig Sauer SP2022 Sig Pro with two other Cybergun pistols (The Jericho 941 and Sigarms GSR), all of them in the lower and more affordable price point, out of all three of them so far I am really liking the SP2022 for a lot of reasons: It just looks really good, it has good weight and feel, for an air pistol in this price range to have a metal slide and full metal drop out magazine is also a welcome change. But most of all mine shot so much harder then expected that I was almost afraid to publish my test results! Even if it shot closer to the claimed fps this gun is well worth it and I would still be very happy and quick to recommend the Cybergun Sig Sauer SP2022 Sig Pro.

Lastly we have the Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms:

By far the heaviest gun out of the trio, the GSR comes in at 2.4 pounds and is made almost entirely out of metal, even including the grips so if your looking for a gun that feels the part this is the one for you. The Sig Sauer GSR also has the full size drop out metal magazine like the rest of them and can hold 21 4.5mm steel BB's along with the CO2 in it. Baikal Drozd Classic IZH MP-661K BB Machine Gun Review

Type: BB Machine gun.

Manufacturer:Baikal.

Model:IZH MP-661K.

Materials: Metal & Polymer.

Weight: 3.5 pounds.

Barrel: 8 inches, metal-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 or (Bulk air with adaptor).

Action: Electronic trigger with 1-3-6 round burst & 300-340-600 Rounds Per Minute.

Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.

Ammunition Capacity: 30 rounds.

FPS: 360-500.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH Drozd is nice and light due to the fact that the trigger is not mechanical but is instead an electronic on-off switch that operates a solenoid. The solenoid pulsates in turn hitting the CO2 valve release. This is how the single fire and burst fire rates are achieved.

Accuracy: When I was sighting the Baikal Drozd in I got several 5 shot groups well within 1 inch 30 feet out from the target. But when I did my actual video accuracy test, the Drozd did not perform as well, getting more like a 2 inch group, still very reasonable for a gun that can shoot 600 rounds per minute out of the box and 1200 rounds per minute when modified. With metal streaming out the barrel like that you are pretty much going to hit what ever you point it at, the odds are in your favor!

Build Quality: This is a typical Russian made gun, all business and less importance put on looks but even so it is visually appealing, at least to me! Everything works exactly as it should and even though the main shell is plastic it is really a weapons grade polymer so there is no cause for concern here. There are a fair amount of metal components like the factory barrel, most of the magazine and many internal parts.

Realism: Again, the Baikal Drozd IZH MP-661K is not a replica, but it does look like a sub machine gun in many ways, I'm really just not sure exactly what it looks like but when you are shooting this gun you really don't think much about this point because you are too busy grinning!

Purchased From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Very well made BB machine gun.

  • Excellent power.

  • Good accuracy in all shooting modes.

  • Uses the 12 gram CO2 - a bit cheaper! (Can also convert to bulk air)

  • Stock version can shoot up to 600 rounds per minute.

  • Multiple stock lengths.

  • Rifled barrel.

  • Adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

  • Removable magazine hold BB's and CO2.

  • Many mods for this gun.

  • Great for pest control, especially the ones that don't stay still.

  • Made in Russia.

Cons:

  • 12 Gram CO2 - you need to change it often!

  • Top Accessory rail is a bit short and low.

  • Rear stock can get lose sometimes (just add some tape to tighten it up a bit).

Comments:

The Baikal IZH MP-661K is one of the most fun BB machine guns out there and well worth the extra cost to get such a quality product that not only is great out of the box but can also be modified in so many ways to improve it's performance and looks dramatically. Sure the Baikal IZH MP-661K now has a big brother, the Drozd Blackbird, but the Blackbird may be just a bit of overkill for some, I kind of like the Drozd Classics more compact size and if you can't nail what your shooting at with 30 rounds then your doing something very wrong! The Drozd is really the epitome of extreme BB gun weaponry!

Crosman 1377 American Classic .177 Pellet Pistol Review

Type: Pellet Air Pistol.

Manufacturer: Crosman.

Model: 1377 American Classic.

Materials: Metal & plastic.

Weight: 2 pounds.

Barrel: 10.25 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: Multi-pump pneumatic.

Action: Bolt-action single shot, single action only.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellet.

Ammunition Capacity: 1 round.

FPS: 495.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman 1377 American Classic is non-adjustable but is short and light with virtually no creep at all, it's just right there! It makes for very accurate shot placement.

Accuracy: I found the Crosman 1377 to be an amazing target pistol, getting about a 1/2 inch grouping from 30 feet out in a semi-rested position. And I performed my accuracy test twice with the same result each time. I also put the America Classic through the Chrony Chronograph test using increasingly more pumps each time and got it up into the 460+ fps range with 15 pumps using 6.9 grain RWS lead pellets. Keep in mind this is the Canadianized version that has been release valve limited to under 500 fps, so over-pumping should not hurt this gun too much, but either way do so at your own risk as Crosman says it's a 10 pump gun...

Build Quality: The Crosman 1377 American Classic is not a fancy looking gun but it gets the job done with a mostly metal design and build. Remember this gun has been around for 40 years and has pretty much stayed the same so Crosman must be doing something right with it.

Realism: The Crosman 1377 pellet pistol is not a replica, it is a target airgun, so it looks like a target air pistol and for that we'll give it high marks ;)

Available at: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Very inexpensive target pistol at $59.

  • Amazing accuracy!

  • Ability to regulate power with the amount of pumps.

  • Mostly metal construction.

  • Rifled barrel.

  • Adjustable sights for windage and elevation.

  • Light and short single action trigger.

  • Would be good for small pest control because of its decent FPS and excellent accuracy for precise shot placement ability.

  • Lots of mods and upgrades available for this gun!

  • It has been around for 40 years!

Cons:

  • Trigger is a bit thin (but can be upgraded)

  • Sights are fully adjustable but a bit hard to adjust.

Comments:

The Crosman 1377 America Classic .177 caliber pellet pistol is a must have target air pistol, even though I own the much more full featured (and pricey!) Webley Alecto .22 caliber multi-pump pneumatic target air pistol, the Crosman 1377 is still great to own and shoot. I think one day I will pass my 1377 down to my son when he is ready to learn the art of accurate pistol target shooting. The fact that you can head out for the day with the 1377 America Classic in one hand and a tin of .177 caliber pellets in the other and shoot till you can't shoot any more, with no CO2 required makes it very inviting - and pretty much everything you point it at will get nocked down or nailed dead on.
