Long Awaited Item Mystery Box Unboxing - November 2024

This was a really fun Unboxing Video for me as I received something I feel a lot of Canadians might be really interested in protecting yourself in Canada is not a right especially if you use lethal force. So having a less lethal option is a really good idea.

Let’s get into what I found in this most recent Mystery Box in order of appearance…

The first item I unboxed was the KWC SP2022 CO2 NBB 4.5mm Steel BB Pistol. A pretty basic 4.5mm CO2 BB Pistol mostly made out of plastic but with a full size 21 round drop out metal magazine that does help a lot to add some much needed weight to this Airgun. It uses standard 12 gram CO2 with a claimed velocity of 450 fps.

Probably the most exciting item I pulled out of this months Mystery Box was the Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 Rubber Ball purpose built Less-lethal solution for personal and family protection. Most of the similar Rubber ball Less-lethal Airguns I have tested generally do not pack enough punch to really be much of a deterrent in my opinion but the Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 has a claimed 495 fps and when I tested it out after making this video it defiantly has some power. I would not want to be at the receiving end of this product especially in close proximity. The Gen2 Umarex P2P HDP 50 uses a traditional 12 gram CO2 and holds 6 rounds of rubber ball or powder ball, it does come with 10 of each to get you started.

Next I took a look at three KJWORKS Airsoft Pistols all of which came with CO2 Magazines, extension barrels and thread on tips. The KJWORKS KP-19, the KJWORKS M9A1 TBC, and the KJWORKS KP-13 TBC. As expected with KJWORKS Airsoft Guns, they looked really good and will be a joy to review and test out.

Last out of the Mystery Box was a new product from Umarex, a full sized Marlin Cowboy Lever Action BB Rifle in the style of the classic Red Ryder BB Gun but as mentioned in a larger size more suitable for an adult. Hey why do the kids get to have all the fun? The Umarex Marlin BB Rifle holds 650 rounds in its BB hopper and has a claimed fps pf 300. It also has an adjustable for elevation peep sight in the back with a metal lever and a Classic Faux Wood Finish.

KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol does look a bit like a Glock but don’t be fooled, it is fore sure not a Glock at all. That said it might just make a great training Airsoft pistol if you own a real steel Glock or plan on owning one in the future as it is about the same size and shape and operates similarly to a real Glock. In this video I put it through its paces using my Chronograph to find out the real world velocity and I also place 10 shots on a paper target to see what kind of accuracy I can get from 30 feet away.

Starting with my power or velocity test I put 5 rounds through my Chronograph using standard .20 gram Airsoft Plastic BB’s. I was using a brand new CO2 and the temperature being around 21 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit, so not too hot or cold. I did only test using the preinstalled internal non-extended barrel so if you do plan on using the longer extend barrel that the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol comes with, you will more than likely get another 30-40 fps out of this Airsoft Pistol. That said I was able to get an average of 348 fps with my slowest shoot hitting 329 fps and my fastest shot hitting 363 fps. As expected the fastest shot was my first shot out of the Airsoft gun and my slowest shot was my last as the Airgun cooled down.

I then moved on to my accuracy portion of the Field Test for the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. It did shoot rather high so I did have to aim at the bottom ring of the target to actually hit closer to the middle. It also shot just a tad to the left but not much so keep that in mind since the sights are not easily adjustable. Hop-up adjustments may lower the rounds a bit but it’s hard to say how much. The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol did get close to a 1 inch 9 shot grouping (first shot was really high aiming at the bullseye), so that was impressive and the blowback feels solid with a really nice Glock like short and easy trigger.

The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is a nice looking and good performing Airsoft Pistol that looks enough like a glock to perhaps appeal to Glock lovers looking for something similar but unique in its own way. After all doesn't everyone already have a Glock, so be a bit different and pick yourself up one of these KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistols and be a trend setter!

KJWorks KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback CO2 Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by KJ Works.
Model: KP-13.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.7 pounds (770 grams).
Barrel: 3.7 inches (95mm) metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto blowback, SOA trigger.
Ammunition Type: .6mm plastic Airsoft BB’s.
Ammunition Capacity: 24 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 366+.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect for a true Single Action Only Trigger which is nice and light. There is a bit of take up but you can feel the point near the back where the release kicks in which is extremely predictable with no play in it. Of course you will need to rack the slide in order to place a round in the breach and fire the first shot, after that the blowback action will do all the work for you.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the KJWorks KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol or done my Field Test Performance Video. I would expect the KJWorks KP-13 to perform like the other KJWork Airsoft Pistols I have reviewed in the past, which generally hits the claimed fps. Keep in mind the claimed fps is with the extended barrel and I more than likely will be using the preinstalled shorter non extendable barrel which will have a slower fps for sure. Accuracy should be decent but we will find out when I make my Field Test Shooting video!

Build Quality: The KJWorks line of Airsoft Guns is know for overall good quality so I expect theKJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol to be just the same. From my initial first impressions everything looks really good, fit and finish are excellent and as expected you will find metal parts and polymer parts in all the same places you would find them in a real steel modern semi auto pistol.

Realism: The KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol is not an exact replica of a specific semi auto pistol but yo could say it looks a little bit like a Glock ;) You need to be careful when it comes to Glock as they do not like it when companies copy their guns and rightly so. There is enough differences with the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol so it should not set off any alarms over at Glock. I do like the two tone tan and black color scheme KJ Works went with for the KP-13 but if you like a more traditional look you can always go with the all black version.

Pros:

  • Metal and Polymer with decent weight and good feel to it.

  • Heavy Full blowback operation.

  • Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.

  • High capacity full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 24 rounds.

  • Well hidden safety incorporated into the serial number under the barrel.

  • Working trigger safety.

  • Super easy to see in all conditions fiber optic sight up front.

  • All working components like a real steel Glock styled pistol.

  • Comes with extended barrel for higher velocity and easier import into Canada.

  • Would make a good training weapon if you are use to using Glocks.

  • Like the two tone finish, but can also get it in all black.

  • Easily field strip-able.

Cons:

  • Sights are not adjustable.

  • Would have liked the addition of white outline on the rear sight.

  • Slide spring could be slightly heavier.

Comments:

If you’re looking for a pistol that is similar to a Glock for training purposes but is unique in its own way and doesn’t have to be a Glock, then perhaps the KJ Works KP-13 CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol may be for you. I like the fact that it has its own style to it and is not just another Glock or Glock Copy. I also like that the KP-13 comes with a CO2 magazine rather than a Green Gas Magazine which will get you a bit higher velocity and more mag fills before requiring to gas up again. I personally like the two tone version but get what you like best, it’s good to have options!

Umarex HK P30 - T4E HDB - ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 - KJWorks KP13 Update Preview

In this Preview Review Video I take a look at 4 newer products now in our Replica Airguns Online Store. One is a 4.5mm Steel BB Revolver, two are 6mm Airsoft Pistols and one is a .68 caliber Paintball Shotgun.

The first item I take look at in this video is the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol, this product is pretty entry level with analyst all plastic build and is very light to hold. It does however shoot in both semi and full auto since it is an AEG Airsfto Pistol (not many of them out there). The fps is rather low at a claimed fps at just under 200, the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol also comes with two 16 round remove; plastic magazines. Who knows, maybe it will be fun?

Next I take a look at the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch 4.5mm Steel BB Gold Revolver. This is a CO2 powered shell loading BB revolver very much like similar ones I have reviewed in the past but in Gold finish. Will the gold finishes make it perform better, well I guess we better find out!

I then take a look at a “Glock Like” CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol for KJWorks called the KP13. It has a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 along with 24 rounds of 6mm Airsoft BB’s. The KJWorks KP-13 has a metal slide, metal magazine and polymer frame with a velocity over 360fps using the included barrel extension.

Last but perhaps the most interesting for me is the Umarex T4E HDB which is a lower cost Paintball/Rubber Ball Shotgun which could possibly be used for home protection? The T4E HDB is a mostly plastic constructed rifle with decent weight to it and uses an internal spring fed 16 round magazine. You will find all kinds of mounting points for accessories and for a sling on the Umarex T4E HDB and again at much lower cost than similar T4E rifle based Paintball/Rubber ball Airguns.
