In this Evolution of the Sig Sauer ASP Pellet Pistols YouTube Video I show you Sig Sauer’s full lineup of ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistols and talk about how Sig Sauer has consistently improved their ASP Airgun designs to make their ASP Pellet Pistol the new standard for other airgun companies to follow.
Sig Sauer introduced and started shipping their Sig Sauer APS P250 and P226 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistols in 2015. Both of these Pellet firing Air Pistols used a similar styled double sided rotary magazine as the Umarex PX4 which is common in many blowback pellet Airguns today. The Sig Sauer ASP P226 did include a new lever styled CO2 piercing system that did not require manual tab based tightening of the CO2. Both the Sig Sauer APS P250 and P226 included full Sig Licensing and one to one scale accuracy in a very high quality build.
In 2017 Sig Sauer introduced the Sig Sauer ASP P320 which included their first Belt Fed Rotary Magazine similar to the Belt Fed Rotary Magazines in their ASP Rifle line. The Sig Sauer ASP P320 stick styled belt magazine held a whopping 30 rounds!
In the spring of 2018 Sig started shipping their Sig Sauer ASP X-Five which featured a Belt Fed Rotary Magazine along with Sig’s Lever CO2 Loading System. The Sig Sauer ASP X-Five is also one of the rare action shooting CO2 blowback Airguns with a fully adjustable rear sight.
In the Fall of 2018 Sig brought out their latest ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Air Pistol, the Sig Sauer ASP M17. The Sig Sauer ASP M17 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol nailed everything us Airgun enthusiast are looking for in an Airgun which can be hard to achieve when pellets are involved! The Sig Sauer ASP M17 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol not only featured a Belt Fed Rotary Magazine and Lever Style CO2 System but put all of this into a full size drop out magazine. The Sig Sauer ASP M17 CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol brought even more features we where looking for like a Cut Out Ejection Port, Recessed Barrel Opening and the ability to be Filed Striped for easy access to a removable barrel just incase a pellet managed to get jammed.
So as you can see Sig Sauer is pushing the boundaries of Airgun Designs and always trying to make even better and better products to bring to us each year. I look forward to seeing What Sig Sauer is going to show me this year at SHOT Show 2019!
Type: Air Pistol. Manufacturer: Sig Sauer ASP Model:Sig Sauer ASP M17. Materials: Metal and plastic build. Weight: 2.21 pounds (1002 Grams). Barrel: 4.6 inches - Rifled steel. Propulsion: 12 gram CO2. Action: Blowback double action only. Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets. Ammunition Capacity: 20 round belt fed magazine. Max FPS: 430.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is actually very good considering the trigger not only cocks the hammer with each shot but it also has to index the 20 round belt fed magazine. All of this is done only using around 6 pounds of trigger pull. You will find the trigger pull to be a bit long because of this but overall it feels pretty good and will allow for fairly fast rapid fire action shooting.
Accuracy: So far I have not done my official Field Test Shooting Video for the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol but plan on making it shortly. I did hover get a chance to load some CO2 and Sig Sauer Led Pellets into my Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol and so far fired two fully loaded magazines which is 40 rounds. So far so good, no misfires or jams and power can accuracy seemed nice and consistent. The blowback action is scrips and snappy!
Build Quality: As with all the Sig Sauer ASP Airguns, the qualify is very good. Sig does not actually make these guns but has full control over the design and manufacturing of them. The actual airguns are made in Japan for Sig Sauer but this OK since Sig is not really an Airgun manufacturer and so levying that part to a company that is is not a bad idea. The fit and finish on the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is top notch. There is lots of metal in the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol similar to where you would find it in the real steel version.
Realism: The Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is a very close replica of the real steel Sig Sauer M17. Even the slight difference in color between the slide and frame has been recreated on the Airgun version as compared to the real steel Military version. Sig has made this new ASP Airgun even more realistic by giving it an open ejection port, a recessed barrel, a full size drop out magazine that holds the CO2 and belt magazine, and Sig even made the M17 ASP field strippable!
Very good overall replica of the real steel Sig Sauer M17.
Designed by Sig and made in Japan, fully Sig Sauer licensed.
Has nice heavy blowback operation.
Has accurate weight to it at just over 2 pounds, will be similar to a loaded real steel M17.
White dot sights and accessory rail.
High capacity 20 round belt feed magazine that fits into the full size drop out magazine.
Easy loading CO2 with Sigs lever system, CO2 also combined with the full size drop out magazine.
Decent feel to the trigger not heavy or as sticky even though the trigger action rotates the 20 round belt fed magazine.
First Sig Sauer ASP pistol that is Field Strippable.
Open ejection port and reassessed barrel that help with believability.
Cons:
Slide does not lock back after last shot.
Sights are non adjustable.
Only magazine option is the longer high capacity magazine that does extend the pistol grip.
Comments: I really like what Sig Sauer is doing for airgun community. What I mean by this is that rather than simply slapping their License on an already existing airgun like many other companies tend to do, Sig instead has decided to create something new and fresh. Sig Sauer has in brought new advancements and deigns to their APS Airgun line that nobody els so far has been able to do and with each new ASP Airgun Sig Sauer has improved upon their designs always staving to be better than the previous version. That’s exactly what the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol is to me, Sigs best ASP Air Pistol to date!
My Table Top Review of the Sig Sauer M17 ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol:
Here we go again with another Favorite Airgun Video of 2018, this time I show you my Air Rifle Favorites! There are usually a lot less Air Rifles that come out than Air Pistols but this year was’t too bad for new and interesting Ari Rifles. As per usually there where more 4.5mm Steel BB Rifles and I am sorry to say nothing really came out at least in the Replica Air Rifle department but of course there where 6mm Airsoft rifles too.
I do mainly focus on the 4.5mm BB rifles but throw in the group a very well made and ultra realistic Airsoft Rifle that was for sure in this years Top Five!
Next in this video I take a look at what I can say was my number one pick this year, the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle! When Crosman announced the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle at SHOT Show I was a bit surprised since Crosman is not known best for their Replica Airguns. Not only did Crosman decide to come out with an M4 Replica Air Rifle but they in fact made what I believe is the best one out there at least in 4.5mm Steel BB. It covers all the check boxes I am looking for. It’s very well made, shoots in semi and full auto with a working internal blowback bolt. All the mechanical parts work in the same way as a real M4 including being able to take apart the upper and lower receivers. I really hope Crosman took note of how popular this style of Airgun is and keeps making more product like the Crosman DPMS SBR Steel BB Rifle.
Another 4.5mm Steel BB M4 Replica that came out in 2018 is the Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle. The HellBoy may not be as full featured as the Crosman DPMS SBR but it is worthy of this years Top Five. The Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle is similar to how the Cybergun AK 47 BB rifles are built, using a magazine design that is basically the bulk of the working mechanism, it hold the CO2, CO2 Valve, BB’s, and even part of the trigger mechanism. The Air Venturi HellBoy CO2 BB M4 Air Rifle may not be as ultra realistic as the Crosman DPMS SBR but it’s an excellent full metal M4 Replica with decent shooting performance.
My only Airsoft contribution to this years list is the KWA LM4 RIS PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifle. I just love this Airsoft Rifle, It may not be the cheapest M4 GBB Airsoft Rifle out there but it sure is worth it. When you pick it up it just feels like quality and when you shoot it you know it’s quality, the shooting performance is awesome for a GBB Rifle. I barely noticed any cool down even when shooting off the entire magazine in full auto. If you want the most realistic M4 Air Rfile out there than the KWA LM4 RIS PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifle is going to be the one.
Last up to showcase in this years Favorite Air Rifles is the Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Weathered Submachine Gun. I know the Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun kinda came out last year but I did not get my hands on the Weathered version till only recently so I decided to put it in this years Top Five pick. The Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun is another fine 4.5mm Steel BB Rifle in this case it’s more of a Submachine Gun. The Umarex Legends MP40 CO2 BB Submachine Gun also offers semi and full auto select fire and is a very close replace to the real steel MP40 in almost every way. The Weathered Finish and included Leather Sling really finish it off to make it super believable.
2018 was another great year for Airguns and so I wanted to take a look at some of my favorite Air Pistols from 2018. There where many to choose for and perhaps some of them could just as easily been in my top five list but at some point I have to narrow it down and make a video for you all.
Here they are in no particular order, you may notice that most of them are from Umarex, and no I am not trying to promote Umarex over the other Airgun companies. Umarex simply brought out a lot of new products this year! I will be making a similar Favorite Air Rifle Video for 2018 so we’ll see if some of the other companies get more of a highlight…
First up we have the Umarex HK USP CO2 Blowback BB Pistol which is another full blowback full size drop out metal magazine BB Pistol that is an outstanding replica of the real steel HK USP in not only looks but also in function.
Next is the Umarex Glock 19 CO2 BB Pistol. Now it may seem that the Umarex Glock 19 is a fairly basic BB pistol in that it does not have blowback operation and uses a standard stick magazine. Not always what we are looking for in a replica airgun. What the Umarex Glock 19 CO2 BB Pistol offers that no other airguns has been able to accomplish so far is to bring a Glock approved license to an Airgun. Yes there are other “Glock Replicas” out there but Glock did not approve or license them so these imposters are made without Glock’s golden seal of approval. Counterfeits if you may… This Umarex breakthrough with Glock will allow for many more new Glock licensed Airguns in the future so if you want a full blowback full size mag Glock Airgun then just wait a bit and you will have one.
A nice compact CO2 Blowback BB Pistol that came out this year is the Umarex Walther PPS M2 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. It’s basically the new version to the Standard Walther PPS. I simply just like the look and size of this Air Pistol and appreciate the engineering that went into such a small compact airgun with limited space for airgun components like a 12 gram CO2 and the CO2 valve mechanism.
One last Umarex product in my top five lineup is the Umarex SA10 CO2 Blowback BB and Pellet Air Pistol. The Umarex SA10 is very different than most other Air Pistols out there. First off it’s a blowback Airguns that shoots both BB’s and Pellets which may not be totally unusual, but it has a very unique full size magazine that stores extra rotary magazines that you can preload for easy and quick reloading. The Umarex SA10 is an all metal Airgun with a heavy construction and during my Field Test Shooting Review it performed rather well especially in the accuracy department.
Last and would you believe not an Umarex product is the Sig Sauer X-Five ASP CO2 Blowback Pellet Pistol. The Sig X-Five Pellet Pistol like the Umarex SA10 is full metal, has blowback operation and shoots Pellets, but the Sig Sauer X-Five ASP has a 20 round belt fed magazine which is something that Sig Sauer has been utilizing in their Pellet Airguns. Sure there are some other companies that have attempted to make Airguns with belt fed magazine but usually these Airguns have very heavy triggers making them almost painful to shoot. I like the fact that Sig Sauer is breaking new ground and trying to bring unique concepts and ideas to the Airgun Market.
In this video I do get in nice and close with the camera so you can see how awesome the Weathered finish and Leather Sling look. Just keep in mind you will pay a bit more of a premium for the Umarex Legends MP 40 Weathered version.
You may be asking why a Airgun channel is doing a review of a hand-held microphone. Well part of making good video is also making sure you also record great sounding audio! It doesn't matter how Hi-Def the video is, if you can't hear what I'm saying because the audio is all muffled or drowned out by background sounds then you aren't getting much out of the video.
I have done some other audio product reviews before for similar reasons, I figure some of my viewers and followers may also be interested in making their videos sound better even if it's only a home video. When FiFine approached me a second time to review a product for them I quickly asked if I could review their FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone for those time when I do an interview styled video like at SHOT Show!
In this video review for the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone I show you what comes in the box and also test out the audio quality while making the video. You will hear various samples of audio from three different recording sources in this video. I start the video out using my Sure Lapel mic while I'm showing you around the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone, then I briefly switch over to my camera audio and then I finish with the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone to see how it sounds.
Here are some of the key features and specification for the FiFine KO26 Wireless Hand-held Microphone:
2 YEAR NO QUESTIONS ASKED WARRANTY.
Dynamic Mic with Cardioid pickup pattern. Uni-directional pattern & fine-tuned integrated circuit ensure optimal background noise rejection.
Frequency response 50-18KHz guarantees clarity of your vocals.
Metal construction.
USB 2.0 receiver with headphone jack serves as an external sound card for audio output and monitor.
Works on Mac, PC, Chromebook, (iOS and Android devices - Require adaptor).
UHF (Ultra High Frequency 565-584 MHz) gets longer range and more powerful signal than Bluetooth up to 80 feet away even with obstacles.
20 selectable frequency channels ensures no problems with interference.
Easy-to-read LCD screen to indicate battery life and frequency channel.
In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I test out the performance of the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol to find out exactly what kind of power to expect and to see what kind of accuracy we can get shooting at a paper target 30 feet down range. if you are interested in some more closeup shots and perhaps information and features than checkout my KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review Video.
Starting off with the feet per second performance, I placed 6 shots through my Chronograph using a full propane filled magazine with .20 gram Plastic Airsoft BB’s. They all shot between 343 and 346 fps which was extremely consistent for a gas blowback Airsoft pistol. The average was 345 fps which was pretty decent for just below room temperature shooting.
Moving onto the Target accuracy portion of my Filed Test Shooting Video I first setup a brand new paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to place 10 well placed shots into it. I did not adjust the hop-up since I wanted to get an out of the box shooting experience. I was abel to get a fairly tight 10 shot grouping of right around 3 inches. I did shoot just a bit to the left and slightly low to the the bullseye but not too far off. There are no sight adjustment on this Airsoft Pistol so windage adjustments are going to have to be made using aim point. I could adjust the hop-up to accommodate for elevation and bring the accuracy up as needed.
Overall I was very pleased with the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol, it shot pretty hard for a non-CO2 GBB Airsoft pistol and also did not let me down in the accuracy department either. I did notice that the slide was not locking back for me when the magazine was out of ammo, this may be due to the fact that the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol has such tight slide and frame tolerances. Perhaps a little more break in time is required or a touch of lubricant on the slide raise will make the slide cycle a bit more freely. Even so the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a really nice 1911 A1 Airsoft gun that just feels great to shoot.
Type: 6mm Plastic BB Airsoft Pistols. Manufacturer: KWA. Model: KWA M1911A1 Materials: Metal slide, metal frame. Weight: 2.14 pounds (970 grams). Barrel: Metal non-rifled smooth bore. Propulsion: Green gas, Propane. Action: Blowback, Single action only. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 21 rounds. FPS: Up to 360fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is right on par with what you would get from a quality 1911 single action only trigger, it has very little take up with a smooth crisp and very light light release. The grip safety si functional like a real 1911 also so it will needed to be engaged with your hand in order for the trigger to function.
Accuracy: I have not shot the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol so far but plan to do so this week so I can have my Full Field Test Shooting Video Review for you ASAP. Keep posted as I this is next on my list!
Build Quality: KWA in my opinion makes some of the highest quality Airsoft guns in the industry in their given price range which I would say is about mid point. The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is an all metal (Alloy) Airsoft gun with nice finishing and extremely tight fit. The slide has virtually no wiggle and was needed just a little bit of work in to get it operating properly, perhaps the is why a small bottle of lubricant comes with the KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol. After a few shots everything worked nice and smoothly.
Realism: The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a replica of a standard 1911 A1 Military 45 Auto and is a great looking and functioning replica. You will not find actual Colt or other manufacturer licensing other than the wording “M1911A1 Autoloading Pistol” own the left side of the slide. The version I received did have a slightly elongated barrel to allow for the addition of a red painted tip, Future orders may not have this I am hoping but even if yours is the same as mine you can easily cut down the barrel and or paint over the red portion of the tip. We also offer replacement barrels in our online Canada and US Replica Airguns Store.
All metal magazine is as close as you’re going to get to a real 1911 magazine,
Very authentic 1911 A1 design.
SAO trigger feels great, super light trigger pull.
Working grip safety as you would expect.
All mechanical parts work just like there pal steel 1911 A1 version.
Comes with barrel bushing tool.
Magazine follower locks down for easy loading.
Cons:
Has elongated barrel with orange painted markings.
Rear sight is fixed so no adjusting with this model.
Will have to top up the green gas or propane with every Airsoft BB reload.
Comments:
Out of all the 1911’s on the market I have to say I like the good old fashioned simple design of the classic M1911 A1. No real bells and whistles on it and I like it that way. The KWA M1911A1 GBB Airsoft Pistol has also got to be one of the best made 1911’s in terms of fit and finish, the slide and frame tolerances are super tight with virtually no play or wiggle at all and the trigger is so nice and light. I just need to test it out and see how well it shoots now which I will be doing very soon so keep posted.
As promised this week, here is my full Field Test Shooting Video for the KJWorks KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol. Make sure to watch my Table Top Review of the KJWorks KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol if you’re looking for more details and specifications along with closeup video.
Starting with finding out the raw real world power for the KJWorks KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol, I performed the Chronograph Test using my CaldwellBallistic Precision Chronograph and put 6 shots through it using a brand new 12 gram CO2 along with .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB’s. I was able to average 350 fps which is pretty decent considering it was only around 15 degrees Celsius (60 degrees Fahrenheit). In warmer summer conditions I am sure we would easily reach around 360-370+fps.
Next up I placed a paper target on my ammo trap 30 feet down range and shot off 10 steady paced rounds to see what kind of grouping I could get from the KJWorks KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol. There is always going to be a bit of human factor involved since my Airguns are not braced in a vice or hold of any kind other than my two handed rested grip. (Sandbag upfront, sitting on a stool in the back). I was pleased to see a roughly 3 inch grouping on the target. There was one BB that did shoot a little bit higher then the rest of the grouping otherwise it would have been closer to a 2 inch grouping. I di notice that I was shooting a bit under the bullseye but this could are easily rectified by adjusting the hope slightly to add some more backspin to the Airsoft BB.
All in all I really like the KJWorks KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol, it looks great, is well built, is not going to come in super heavy and seems to perform very well in terms of power and accuracy. I have always been a fan of the 1911 pistol and I like that KJWORKS didn’t deviate too much form the original A1 look and feel with this slightly more tactical version. It still looks and feels like a classic 1911 but is upgraded enough to keep the weight down while adding in a double stack styled magazine with more overall tactical features.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWORKS KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect from a true 1911 single action only trigger, it has very little take up with a smooth crisp and light release to it The grip safety like a real 1911 also works on the KJWORKS KP-08 so it will needed to be engage in order for the trigger to function.
Accuracy: I have not shot the KJWORKS KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol so far but plan to do so this week so I can have my Full Field Test Shooting Video Review for you ASAP. Keep posted as I this is next on my list!
Build Quality: I have always been extremely impressed with the build quality of all the KJWORKS Airsoft guns to date. The fit and finish is the best around compared with any of my airguns including my 4.5mm steel BB shooters. I would say KJWORKS and KWA Airsoft Guns are comparable in terms of build quality, fit and finish so it’s great we now offer both brands for you to choose from.
Realism: The KJWORKS KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol is a replica of a High Capacity styled tactical 1911 45 Auto and is a great looking and functioning replica. You will not find actual Colt or other manufacturer licensing other than KJWORKS on this pistol and the CO2 magazine does stick out a bit to accommodate the 12 gram CO2 but other than that this Airsoft pistol looks and works near exactly like a real 1911 tactical 45 semi auto and is fully field strip-able. I really like the updated more tactical add ons like the tactical rail, machined trigger and hammer, white dot adjustable sights, and much lighter polymer frame that helps keep the overall gun weight down to around 2 pounds.
Metal parts where you need them, polymer frame to keep it lighter weight.
Heavy Full blowback operation.
Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.
High capacity full size drop out magazine that holds 28 rounds.
Versatile magazine options, also works with Marui Hi-Capa Magazines.
Easy to see white dot sights and adjustable for windage rear sight.
All working components like the real steel 1911.
Clean looking but still has that tactical quality about it.
Field strip-able.
Cons:
Grips are wider than a typical single stack 1911, may not fit the hands of small shooters.
No ambidextrous safety, not a problem for right handed shooters but lefties would benefit from this.
Comments:
The KJWORKS KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol is KJWORKS first Airsoft pistol with a polymer frame. It’s also very versatile in that you can use KJWORKS KP-05 magazines and even High-Capa Marui Mags if you won them. The red internal gas tube allows you to use pretty much any type of magazine too which means Green gas, propane and CO2 are all good to go with the KJWORKS KP-08 CO2 Airsoft Pistol! The polymer frame really helps keep what would normally be a rather heavy Airsoft pistol a bit bit more light weigth and field friendly but you still have all the perks of a High-Capa 1911 so it’s a win win for me.
If you haven’t already watched my Table Top Comparison Review for the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols than make sure to have a look at that video if you’re interested in more of the specifications and details and some closeup shots of both Airsoft Guns.
In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I compare the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols head to head and side by side to see how these two very similar Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Replicas perform. They both cost about the same, are built with similar quality and look a lot alike but what I really wanted to know is how do they shoot!
First off I tested out the power of both Airsoft Guns shooting 5 consistent .20 gram Airsoft BB’s from each gun through my Chronograph. Keep in mind I was using a full magazine of propane gas in the KWA M226-LE and a brand new 12 gram CO2 in the KJWorks KJ1060 (KP-01). As CO2 is know to have more power than green gas I was expecting a bit more pop out of the KJWorks KJ1060 which I did get. The temperature in my indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range was 18 degree Celsius (64 degrees Fahrenheit) so not too cold or too hot. The KWA M226-LE averaged right around 320 fps while the KJWorks KJ1060 averaged 350 fps.
Moving on to my accuracy portion of the test for the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols. I placed fresh paper targets 30 feet down range for each Airsoft pistol and put 10 rounds into each target shooting from a rested seated position. I did not adjust the hop-up or sights for either Airsoft Pistol prior to this test to see how close to the bullseye they would get out of the box. First up was the KWA M226-LE and it performed nicely for me shooting close to the bullseye, just a little bit low but getting around a 3.5 inch 10 round group. I then followed up with the KJWorks KJ1060 (HP-01) and also shot fairly near the Bullseye out of the box but the grouping opened up just a bit resulting in a 4.5 inch 10 round group. Still respectable for a close Airsoft quarters sidearm.
At the end of the day, the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols came out pretty close to each other in this head to head Filed Test Shooting Comparison Review. One shot a little bit harder while the other one was a little bit more accurate but neither was a standout in either category. I guess you’re going to have to flip a coin deciding on which one of these two very well made Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols you’re going to choose but either way you will be getting a winner here.
Type: 6mm Plastic BB Airsoft Pistols. Manufacturer:KWA & KJWorks Model:KWA M226-LE - KJWorks KJ1060 (Sigt Sauer P226) Materials: Metal slide & frame. Weight: About 2.5 pounds. Barrel: Metalnon-rifled smooth bore. Propulsion: Green Gas - 12 Gram CO2. Action: Single and double action. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 24-25 rounds. FPS: 350-400 fps
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on both the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols is very similar, they both shoot in single and double action and both actions are fairly light on the finger. I found the KWA M226-LE had a bit lighter double action trigger while the KJWorks KJ1060 seemed lighter when shooting in single action. This is all based on simply dry firing both guns to see who the triggers felt in both their single and double actions.
Accuracy: So far I have not shot either Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistol but plan to get to my Field Test Shooting Review very soon. I will be testing both Airsoft Guns out head to head to see how each performs against each other for power and accuracy.
Build Quality: The build quality for the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols is excellent. Both KWA and KJWorks make exception quality Airguns so which ever one you pick will be a good choice here. Both Airsoft Sig Sauer P226 Pistols are all metal full Blowback ultra realistic Airguns It may just come down to a few small differences. Overall I liked the fit and finish on the KWA M226-LE just a little bit more but it was very close.
Realism: In terms of realism it does not get any more realistic than this. You are going to find that the KWA M226-LE and KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols mimic a real Sig Sauer P226 very closely with working parts as you would find them in the real steel version. The only tell tale sign on the KWA M226-LE is the orange tip which by they ways was not what we ordered so in future versions they will not have orange tips. The KJWorks KJ1060 comes with a CO2 magazine which is a bit elongated from the pistol grip but there are shorter Green Gas magazines for this gun available.
I like that both guns have full blowback operation, full size drop out magazines, easy to use white dot sights.
Working de-cockers and true to form single and double action triggers.
I like the finish on the KWA M226-LE, it’s smoother and has stamped in branding on the slide and frame.
I like the Grips on the KWA M226-LE, more ergonomic and comfortable.
Fit and overall quality feels just a little bit better on the KWA M226-LE.
I like the look of the flush green gas magazine on the KWA M226-LE.
I like the additional power the CO2 Magazine will give the KJWorks KJ1060.
I like that the KJWorks KJ1060 doe snot have an orange tip.
I like the the KJWorks KJ1060 comes with a speed loader.
What I dislike about each gun:
I don’t like that either gun doe snot have adjustable sights.
I don’t like the orange tip on the KWA M226-LE.
I don’t like the way the extended CO2 mag looks on the KJWorks KJ1060
Comments: No matter which of these two awesome Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols you may choose, you are going to love it. I am a big Sig Sauer fan and so it makes sense for me to own something like this so I can shoot it any time I want without having to go to the actual gun range and spend a boat load of money firing off real 9mm ammo. You really do get a very realistic experience shooting these ultra realistic Airsoft Pistols. They are the same size and weight, all the controls work the same, the triggers have the same weigth and feel to them, the blowback action simulates the recoil. The only difference is the cost to shoot, less recoil feel obviously and the fact that most people can shoot them safely and quality in the privacy of their own back yards.
My Table Top Comparison Review of the KWA M226-LE & KJWorks KJ1060 Sig Sauer P226 Airsoft Pistols:
Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex. Model:HK VPN. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.42 pounds (644 grams). Barrel: 4.13 inches, metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto single and double action trigger. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 350.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is fairly decent. When the slide cycles it sets the internal striker ready for single action shooting but there is a first stage of the trigger that moves the CO2 nozzle in the magazine forward pushing a BB into the breech area of the barrel while also sealing off the magazine into the barrel allowing for more effect CO2 usage and extra power. This movement of the magazine nozzle does add a slight bit of friction to the first stage of the trigger pull but not a lot. Keep in mind the trigger pull is a bit longer than most single action triggers to account for this.
Build Quality: TheUmarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a well made gun which we have come to expect from Umarex. The Umarex HK VP9 is made of metal and polymer similar to the real steel version with a metal slide and polymer frame. You will find more metal parts in the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol as in the slide catch release, magazine ejector, barrel, magazine and also several internal parts. Fit and finish is good, I had no issues shooting the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol when I tested it out.
Realism: The Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a very close copy of the real steel H&K VP9 9mm pistol, you will even find HK licensing throughout the gun. Some details that make the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol very believable are the blowback action, full size drop out metal magazine, the cut out ejection port with 9mm markings on it, the recessed barrel, a working slide catch release and trigger safety. One giveaway that the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is not the real deal is the safety switch on the right hand side of the frame. It is fairly small so it does not catch the eye to easily. Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.
Pros:
Nice Crisp blowback action.
Full size drop out all metal magazine.
Metal parts where where you would expect them to be: Slide, magazine, barrel, slide catch/release, magazine ejector and of course several internal parts.
Fairly accurate looking replica of the original HK VP9.
HK Licensed via Umarex.
White dot sights easy to sight in your target on most backgrounds.
Working trigger safety.
Rail for accessories like lasers and tac lights.
Warning instructions are nice and discreet!
Well priced for what you get.
Cons:
Not a fan a of the clamshell packaging, makes the gun seem cheap even before you actually hold and feel it.
Sights are none adjustable.
Did not perform great in my accuracy test, a bit spread out.
Comments:
The Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol reminds me a lot of the ISSC M22 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol in terms of how it operates, they both have that same full size dop out metal magazine that has that moving nozzle for more efficient CO2 usage. Both BB guns also both have that “half” or reduced cycle blowback operation which again probably increases CO2 efficiency and power. The Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol looks and feels great in the hand and has a nice snappy blowback operation with easy to use sights and a smooth trigger. I just wish I was able to get a little bit tighter grouping during my field test shooting video but sometimes it’s just me, sometimes it can just be that specific gun. Let me know how yours performs for you?
In this Field test Shooting Video of the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle I test out its velocity in feet per second and also what kind of accuracy I can get shooting at a paper target 30 feet away from a rested seated position with a sand bag up front.
Starting with the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle’s power I first placed 5 shots through my Chronograph using a brand new 12 gram CO2 and RWS 5.1 grain zinc coated steel BB’s. The lowest fps shot was 334 and the highest was 363 fps, averaging 344 for the 5 shots. Not all that fast for a CO2 BB rifle but keep in mind the inner barrel is the same length as the shorter barreled Gletcher M1891 which actually shot a m much higher average fps of 428. I was shooting the Gletcher M1891 on a much warmer day which will effect velocity with CO2 airguns but by nearly 100fps? Seems a little bit off?
Next I cleared my shooting bench and setup a fresh paper target 30 feet back and proceeded to see what kind of grouping I could get with the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle. I did not sight the gun in so I was only really interested in how close the BB’s would place together, not so much if I could hti bulls eyes. Perhaps I should have made sure I was close to the bulls eye since out of the box I was noticeably shooting low and to the left. It is really easy to adjust the sights to shoot higher but not so much for windage. That said I got about a 4 inch 10 shot grouping shooting the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle. Again compared to the Gletcher M1891 Sawn Off little brother version the Gletcher M1944 didn’t perform as well in this test since I was able to get closer to a 2 inch grouping with the Gletcher M1891 in my earlier testing.
So what did I learn today? Maybe bigger is not always better? There are all sorts of things to consider when performing these test. Temperature, CO2 and BB’s being used but probably a lot of times it’s just me not exactly on my game that day. For me the main reason why I would buy the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle is not as much for how it shoots but more because where else can you get a historic bolt action BB rifle like this. And for some people that may be the only version they may are able to buy where they are located or if they don’t want the hassle of getting a firearms license.
In this Field Test Shooting Review I only test out the KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle since both the RIS and KR7 are virtually identical in terms of their build and internal components, the KR7 has a a slightly shorter barrel but both KWA Airsoft AR M4 Rifles should perform very similarly.
To begin this Field Test Shooting Review of the KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle I first place 5 shots through my Chronograph using .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB’s and a full mag filled with propane gas. The rounds varied anywhere from around 330-360 fps but averaged a nice 345 fps which is perfect for most Airsoft games.
Next I placed a fresh paper target 30 feet away in my Indoor Sea Can Airgun Range. I then proceeded to shoot 10 shots in semi auto to see how accurate the KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle would perform for me. I am not a big fan of the aperture or peep sights found on most AR rifles, sure they work well for quick target acquisition but in terms of accuracy at least for me I find them hard to look through. Even so I was able to get about a 4 inch grouping with the KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle. I am pretty sure I could tighten this up with some more practice using these types of sights so user influence was involved here.
Of course I also had to place the KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle in Full Auto mode and do first a mag dump of the remaining 25 rounds and then I switched up the magazine for a fresh 40 rounder and did some shorter bursts again followed by a mag dump. The KWA LM4 RIS PTR GBB Airsoft Rifle performed flawlessly even in this somewhat cooler environment (17 degrees Celsius - 62 degrees Fahrenheit).
the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and LM4 KR7 Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles are fantastic performers, it’s hard to find consistent Gas Blowback Full Auto guns that can truly get through an entire mag without some sort of major cool down effecting their performance. In my testing even at the end of a full auto magazine the cycle rate was still high and there was no problem at all getting all 40 rounds out. If you want one of the highest quality and best performing Gas Blowback AR M4 styled Airsoft rifles then look no further!
Let’s get right into it. I placed 6 shots through my Chronograph and averaged 312 fps which was lower than what AW Custom claims at 370 fps. It was not super warm in the Sea Can since it is October and the weather is getting colder by the day, but I do keep it relatively heated and it was around 15-16 degrees Celsius or 61 degrees Fahrenheit. I was also using a brand new 12 gram CO2 cartridge along with 5.1 grain RWS zinc coated steel BB’s.
For my accuracy test I placed a brand new paper target up 30 feet down range and put 10 shots into it (well sort of) using a rested seated position with a sandbag up front. I have to be honest about the results, I was very disappointed in the accuracy of the AW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. It was literally one of the worse I have seen in terms of getting BB’s to place well in a 10 shot grouping. Most CO2 Blowback BB gun will at least get a 4 inch grouping if not even a 2 inch grouping on a good day but the AW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol just seemed to spray the ammo all over, 2 shots did not even hit the paper and the rest where literally all spread out on it. I would guess that I got around an 10-12 inch grouping which at 30 feet is not good at all?
My guess is that the barrel is perhaps too large? Everything else about the gun is really great. It’s made very well and looks awesome, fps performcaen is about what I would expect from a full blowback CO2 BB gun so that is fine. But when it comes to accuracy the AW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol just fails completely. I may try using another brand of BB’s but I am not expecting to get a much better result…
In this Field Test Shooting Video Review I test out the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol in my Sea Can Indoor Airgun Shooting Range. It’s getting a bit colder now that’s it’s mid October here in Canada BC but inside the Sea Can I keep things at least around 15-16 degrees Celsius (61 degrees Fahrenheit) while testing out my airguns. Temperature aside the Sea Can Indoor Airgun Shooting range is dry and well light, perfect for multi-camera video recording.
As always I put 5 shots through my Chronograph to see what kind of real world velocity I can get using my test airguns which in this case was the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. Now Umarex claims 350 fps and I averaged 325, this is pretty close keeping in mind the temperature was not all that warm so I expect higher velocity from the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol in warmer conditions. I did use a brand new CO2 along with RWS. 5.1 grain zinc coated steel BB’s.
In terms of accuracy I was a little bit let down by the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol getting over a 4-5 inch grouping shooting 10 shots on my paper target 30 feet away. My rested shooting position (Sand bag up front seated in the rear) usually allows for at least a 2-3 inch groupings for most CO2 BB pistols at this distance. I’m not sure why the shoots where so spread out, it was almost like I got two operate tighter groupings from my 10 shots?
Even with the somewhat poor accuracy the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a nice overall airgun, with a nice smooth Double Action Only trigger and solid blowback action recoil feel. The metal slide and all metal full size drop out metal magazine gives the Umarex HK VP9 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol a nice balance to it and good weight. Stay tuned for my Table Top Review coming soon.
Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. Manufacturer: Distributed by AW Custom. Model:Black Ace AG-HX2003. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 2.36 pounds (1070 grams). Barrel: 4.33 inches, metal non-rifled. Propulsion: CO2 x 1. Action: Semi auto single action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 26 round drop out full metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 375.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the AW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is typical of a 1911 single action only trigger, there is virtually no take-up at all and the release is supper light and crips. There really is no trigger reset to speak of making it a really fast action shooter.
Build Quality: TheAW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is rather well made with a full metal slide and upper metal receiver. It feels great in the hand with its 2.36 pound weight and beefy grips. The fit and finish is bang on and I really like the matt finish that does not seem to be earring at all in the high spots.
Out of the box already upgraded internally and externally.
Mostly metal gun, has great weight and feel to it.
Full blowback operation along with a full size drop out metal magazine.
Claimed 375 fps is good for a full blowback (Airsoft) styled BB gun.
Nice fiber optic adjustable sights and included plate for mounting a red dot sight.
Excellent fit and finish.
Flared magwell and textured grips assure a good grip.
Fairly light double action trigger.
Warning instructions on slide are very discreet!
Overall a great looking custom 1911!
Cons:
A bit hard to get right now at least here in Canada.
Have to remove slide to adjust windage on rear sig
Comments:
The AW Custom Black Ace HX2003 Hi-Capa CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a really nice gun all around and one of the few airguns that comes out of the box already upgraded and modified with enhanced features that truly improve the comfort, performance and efficiency of the gun as well as cosmetic upgrades for looks. Some key features that stand out for me are the fiber optic adjustable sights, Skeletonize trigger and hammer, textured pistol grips and flared magwell and of course the vented barrel/slide. Hopefully we can get some into our Replica Airguns Online Store in the near future…
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles is exactly what you would expect on an AR style rifle. You are required to pull the charging handle back for the first shot which draws the bolt back and chambers a round. The Single action trigger has very little take up and a light crisp release. Of course if you select full auto mode all you need to do is hold down the trigger until the magazine is empty!
Accuracy: So far I have not field tested either the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles but I did throw some green gas in one of the mags and fires off a bunch of semi and full auto shots in my Sea Can Airgun shooting range. You can expect a ton of felt blowback recoil and both semi and full auto modes performed perfectly for me with no problems unloading a full 40 rounds magazine and no slow down in the blowback action.
Build Quality: The KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles are about as good as it gets in terms of build quality. They both have pretty much the same aluminum metal receivers and reenforced steal bolts. Fit and finishes is excellent everything just looks and feels great on these high end KWA Airsoft rifles.
Realism: The PTR in the name stands for “Professional Training Rifle” and the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles not only look the part but operate as close as you are going to get to the real steal version in an Airsoft rifle. You can even interchange the stock, grips, trigger guard with MilSPec components and the same goes for the rails, all MilSpec ready. I want to mention the blowback recoil again because it is truly awesome on these rifles!
Really well built mostly aluminum and steel components.
Fully customizable MilSpec design throughout.
Amazingly realistic perfect for training.
Gas Magazine performs really well easily getting through the 40 rounds.
Type 3 Hop-up for extended range shooting.
Fully Field Strippable.
Cons:
GBB system has more limitation compared to an AEG, less rounds, not goof in cold weather.
Not the cheapest Airsoft rifles out there but worth every penny.
Hard to keep in stock.
Comments:
I know most go-to Airsoft rifles for game play are going to be an AEG since they are going to have a lot more rounds per mag and more consistent performance over a Gas Blowback Airsoft rifle. That said the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles really make you want to reconsider this choice and try and figure out if perhaps you could use a Gas Blowback Airsoft Rifle on the field? Sure you will need a lot of extra magazines but man is it ever fun feeling that blowback action on your shoulder and experiencing a more true to life experience shooting the KWA LM4 RIS PTR and KWA LM4 KR7 PTR Full Metal GBB Airsoft Rifles. If you want the most realistic training Airsoft rifles then it would be hard to find a better option out there.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant is single action only, the bolt cycle does most of the work setting up the loading of a BB into the chamber and pre-cocking the bolt spring. The take up is minimal and the release is about medium to light weight. The bolt snaps forward firmly and with a nice clanking sound, you can even feel the weight of it as it moves forward.
Accuracy: I have not shot the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle yet but have had the opportunity to shoot the M1891 Sawn Off version. I had mixed result with the Gletcher M1891 BB Rifle since you can not shoulder the gun making it a bit unsteady while it waves around out in front of you as you aim it. When shooting it rested I was able to get much better results shooting a fairly tight 1.5 inch 10 shot grouping in my Sea Can Airgun Range. By the way my velocity testing on the Gletcher M1891 BB Rifle resulted in an average of 430 fps.
Build Quality: The Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle is really well made, you can tell by it's robust weight and how solid the action feels when you draw the bolt back and release it the first time. Everything that would be metal on the real Mosin Nagant is metal on the Gletcher M1944 including the full size dropout magazine that holds both the BB's and CO2. Yes the stock is imitation wood but it looks very close to real wood and will fool most people until very close inspection. The overall finish on the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle looks great.
Realism: I've never actually put my hands on a real steel Mosin Nagant Rifle but from the photos I viewed online, the Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle really accurate in terms of being a BB replica. Of course the magazine has been adapted to fit CO2 and BB's but once placed in the gun it is nearly impossible to tell it from a real Mosin Nagant. The weight of this rifle (8.2 pounds) gives it the feeling of genuineness. I have read online that a real Mosin Nagant stock can be adapted to fit the Gletcher M1944 so that would indicate that it is fairly true in size and construction to a real Mosin Nagant Rifle.
Pros:
Very Unique BB gun.
A piece of history you can shoot in your back yard.
Mostly all metal gun.
Nice heavy 8.2 pound weight to it.
Adjustable rear sight, at least for elevation.
Nice single action trigger.
Bolt action feels great and has a firm release.
Full size drop out metal magazine that holds both the BB's and the CO2.
More fps than claimed and decent accuracy, I expect to get lots of shots out of a single CO2 because of the magazine design.
Imitation wood is very believable.
Comes with sling.
Breaks down similarly to the real steel version, so maybe able to upgrade parts like the stock with a little bit of work.
Cons:
Stock is plastic but looks good considering.
No real way to adjust windage and the rear sight does wiggle a bit from side to side which could throw off the aim.
Bayonet may scratch the stock a bit?
Price point may make it out of range for some buyers?
Comments:
The Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle is a great option for anyone looking for a historic bolt action Rifle but in a BB version. It for sure looks and acts the part but in a much quieter and backyard friendly version. Sure yo can get the Gletcher M1891 Sawn Off version ofr about half price but to really get the full Mosin Nagant experience you are going to want to have the larger full size Gletcher M1944 Mosin Nagant CO2 BB Rifle, no two ways around it. Being abel to shoulder the gun makes it way more natural and easier to shoot.
