We had a lot of great new Airguns that I reviewed this year at Replica Airguns. Some of them really stood out to me and so I made a video showing my Favorite Replica Airgun Picks of 2019. Of course there where many other Airguns that could has just as easily made this video but I had to draw the line somewhere and pick the ones that in my opinion where the best of 2019. Make sure to watch my Vimeo video where I go into some more details on why I liked each Airgun.

Below is a list of the top Replica Airgun Picks of 2019:

Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: GBB AIrsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: Made by Tokyo Marui.
Model: Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R.
Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components.
Weight: 1.85 pounds (839 grams).
Barrel: 4.4 inches (112mm) metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green gas.
Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 31 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 365.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol is extremely nice, there is virtually zero take-up with a light and easy release. You can really hammer out quick shots with this Airsoft pistol. Other than the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911, one of the best 1911 triggers I have tested so far.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol so I have no idea what the actual fps is and how accurate it will be but based on the reputation of Tokyo Marui Airsoft guns I have high expectations from the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol when I perform my Field Test Shooting Video.

Build Quality: The Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol on the outside it is mostly all plastic (Slide and portion of the frame). That said the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group, magazine and many more internal parts.

Realism: The Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol is built on the Colt 45 1911 design but is obviously a more modernized and tacticle version of the classic 1911. The only factor that separates the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol from that of a traditional 1911 in design is the lack of a barrel bushing which kind of makes field stripping and access to the Airsoft guns intervals a little bit easier. You still get that 1911 feel and awesome Single Action Only Trigger with your thumb safety and slide catch release in all the familiar places. Of course the Grip safety works as you would expect on a 1911.

Pros:

  • Light and crips flat faced SAO trigger feels great.

  • Fit and finish is excellent, next to zero slide wiggle.

  • Very cool looking tactical modernized 1911.

  • Direct Optic Ready removable rear sight to accommodate for included red dot mounting plates.

  • Optional under-rail plate included.

  • Full size high capacity 31 round double stack metal magazine.

  • Ambidextrous thumb safeties.

  • Working grip safety as you would expect on a 1911 based gun.

  • Most mechanical parts work just like a real steel 1911 and can be easily field stripped to access the hop-up.

  • Super fast blowback action, great for quick action shooting.

  • Decent 1.85 pounds weight considering much of the Airsoft gun is plastic.

Cons:

  • Mostly all plastic build.

  • Does not have the barrel bushing found on traditional 1911’s.

  • No white dots on rear sight.

Comments:

So far I have reviewed three of the Tokyo Marui Airsoft pistols and all three have impressed me. Even with a mostly plastic build at least externally in the slide and frames, these Airsoft Pistols still feel and shoot great even if they are a little on the light side. That may be a plus for some people who want a nice light weight side arm that is not weighing them down on the field. The plastic slides really cycle fast and are super snappy, when combined with short and light tirggers you can pop off rounds amazingly fast and on target. For the price I really think any of the Tokyo Marui Airsoft Guns would be a great choice. I do however have a soft spot for 1911’s and so for me the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol would be my choice out of the three I have reviewed so far.

Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol TableTop Review

Type: GBB Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: Made by Tokyo Marui.
Model: FNX-45 Tactical.
Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components.
Weight: 1.8 pounds (830 grams).
Barrel: 4.4 inches metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green gas.
Action: Semi auto blowback, singled double action trigger.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 29 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 366.

Trigger Pull: The single action trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is light and smooth with just a bit of take-up and a crisp release. You can also shoot in double action, as expected the trigger pull in double action will be longer and heavier but it’s still pretty smooth and not at all heavy.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol so I have no idea what the actual fps is and how accurate it may be but I can say I like the feel of how it dry fires so if that’s any indication as to how well it performs then I have high hopes for the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol.

Build Quality: The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol even though on the outside it’s all plastic (Slide and frame), the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group and many more internal parts.

Realism: The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is virtually an exact replica of a Real Steel FNX-45 Tactical, looking at photos online of the powder burning version it is nearly impossible to tell them apart. You will find FN licensing in all the right places but keep in mind Tokyo Marui does not actually hold an FN license so yours will come with black stickers over the FN markings. Easy enough to take off :) In terms of functionality the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol operated pretty much exactly like the real steel version including the ability to field strip it for easy Hop-up adjustments.

Pros:

  • Ultra realistic Replica of the FNX-45 with authentic markings.

  • Removable slide cover allows mounting of red dot sight.

  • 16mm CW threaded barrel is mock suppressor-ready.

  • Multiple grip backstraps for a custom fit to your hand size.

  • Overall quality, fit and finish is excellent.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Full size full metal magazine.

  • Ambidextrous safety, slide catch and magazine release.

  • Can easily put a mock suppressor on it.

  • Comes with additional internal barrel lengths for a mock suppressor or no meat tenderizer setup.

  • All mechanical parts work just like a steel FNX-45.

  • Super fast blowback action, great for action shooting.

Cons:

  • Mostly all plastic build.

  • Not actually licensed by Tokyo Marui.

Comments:

I am really liking the Tokyo Marui product line and welcome it to our Canada Replica Airguns Store. The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is one the nicest quality Airsoft guns I have reviewed so far, it really is a work of art. The only thing that would be nice is a metal slide but I can live without it since everything else about the gun is nearly perfect! The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is really built for everyone, left hand or right handed, large or small hands, the full set of ambidextrous controls and interchangeable back-straps will take care of you.

Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components.
Weight: 1.8 pounds (816 grams).
Barrel: 3.9 inches metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green gas.
Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 28 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 366.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is extremely nice, there is virtually zero take-up with a light and easy release. You can really hammer out quick shots with this Airsoft pistol. One of the best 1911 triggers I have tested so far.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol so I have no idea what the actual fps is and how accurate it may be but I can say I like the feel of how it dry fires so if that’s any indication as to how well it performs then I have high hopes for the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol.

Build Quality: The Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol even though on the outside it’s all plastic (Slide and frame), the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group and many more internal parts.

Realism: The Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is built on the Colt 45 1911 design but as you can see it comes in a compact version with a very tactical and aggressive look. You can tone it down a bit by removing the “Meat Tenderize” from the front basically turning it into a straight forward Tactical 1911 Compact version.

Pros:

  • Custom Detonics style slide and outer barrel.

  • Meat tenderizer-like Strike Face muzzle gives gun aggressive appearance.

  • 20mm underside rail for laser or flashlight attachment.

  • Squared-off SAO trigger guard with short-stroke trigger pull.

  • Fit and finish is excellent.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Full size full metal magazine.

  • Very cool looking tactical compact 1911.

  • Ambidextrous safety.

  • Comes with additional internal barrel lengths for a Mock suppressor or no Meat tenderizer setup.

  • Working grip safety as you would expect.

  • All mechanical parts work just like a real steel 1911.

  • Super fast blowback action, great for action shooting.

Cons:

  • Mostly all plastic build.

  • Can not field strip easily and get to the hop-up adjustment with the Meat tenderizer on it.

Comments:

This is my first real experience with a Tokyo Marui product and I have to say I am very impressed with their build quality and design. Even though the slide and frame are plastic, there is enough metal going on in this Airsoft pistol to give it decent enough weight and feel. I really like what Tokyo Marui did with the styling of the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol with the Meat tenderizer-like Strike Face muzzle, squared-off trigger guard and overall tactical look and feel. A great addition to the Replica Airguns Canada Online Store!

TokyoMaruiLogo.jpg

I though I would feature the fact that we recently added some of the Tokyo Marui product line to our Canada Replica Airguns Store. G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

I’m going to start off by saying this Field Test Shooting Review for the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol did not go all that well as I had some complications with this Airgun when chambering rounds. I am pretty sure it is magazine related and hope to try a different magazine with it soon. I say this because I am following through with my review regardless of my initial results to demonstrate that not all Airguns perform as expected during my reviews and sometimes you get a lemon even with a good quality brand like G&G.

I am fairly certain the defect in this case for the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol was the magazine tip being too tight and not allowing an Airsoft BB to position all the way to the top of the magazine which means when the slide cycled and the nozzle was in position to push an Airsoft BB into the breach, it simple was hitting the top of the BB and pushing it even further into the magazine. All said and done I was able to test the fps and accuracy on target so let’s get on with my review.

Using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s with a fully filled propane gas magazine in my G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol, I was able to get 6 recoreded shots through my Chronograph averaging 319 fps. The slowest shot being 313 fps and the fastest shot hitting 330 fps. The temperature was right around room temperature so around 22 degrees Celsius or 72 degrees Fahrenheit.

As I was having issues with with the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol chambering rounds with the .20 gram Airsoft BB’s. I was hoping that when I switched to a different .32 gram Airsoft BB for my target portion of this review that perhaps the different Airsoft BB’s would chamber better but they did not. To get through the target portion of my test, with each shot I had to drop the magazine, make sure the Airsoft BB’s was at the top of the magazine, rack the slide, insert the magazine and then release the slide. So as you can see I was resetting completely for each shot which does not always make for the tightest groupings. Surprisingly I was still able to get about a 1.5 inch grouping on my paper target setup 30 feet downrange using a rested and seated shooting position.

Not all reviews go as planned but you still have to make the best of it. I really feel the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is a good gun overall even though mine did not perform that well for me. When I was able to chamber a round it shot a consistent fps and placed Airsoft BB’s downrange accurately and very close to the bullseye. Perhaps simply by swapping out the magazine I will have a much more reliable Airsoft gun? I will have to get back to you on that one.

G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: G&G
Model: GPM1911
Materials: Metal slide, frame & Magazine.
Weight: 2.25 pounds (1020 grams).
Length: 8.66 inches (22.0 cm) total.
Barrel: 4.58 inches (11.7 cm), Metal non-rifled smooth bore.
Propulsion: Green gas or propane.
Action: Blowback, single action only.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 25 rounds.
FPS: 300-330 fps.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect from a traditional single action only 1911 trigger, a very short take-up and a crips and light release. Great for getting a lot fo shoots off quickly and accurately down range without making your trigger finger do a lot of work.

Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol so I can into comment just yet but I will be making a Field Test Shooting Video for it as soon as I can and will post that here on the website and of course over on the Replica Airguns YouTube channel when I have it ready.

Build Quality: The G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is in my opinion one for the nicer looking finishes wise and I would have to say it seems to also be one of the better quality 1911 Airguns out there, for sure a step up from a KWC blowback 1911’s and in line with what KWA and KJWorks is making these days which is good quality. The G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is one of the heavier Airsoft 1911 Blowback Pistols which makes me think the metal is a bit higher quality where it needs to be. Tolerances are nice and tight and the blowbacks action is very heavy.

Realism: The G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol like most of these full blowback 1911 Airguns, Steel BB or Airsoft BB, is super realistic with an all metal build. All the real steel working parts like the slide catch release, back strap safety and pretty much everything else function as they should. The G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol even field strips like a traditional 1911 pistol. Not sure what you could do to make it more authentic for an Airgun?

Available in the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Nice high capacity magazine compared to other GBB 1911 Airsoft pistols.

  • Heavier than most Airsoft 1911’s.

  • All parts fit nice and tight, tolerances are very good.

  • Working back-strap safety.

  • No ugly red tip.

  • Finish is really nice, gun looks really good.

  • Expect to get decent amount of shots per gas fill.

  • Micro Gas Filter and Whirl Cylinder Valve help to manage gas efficiency and reduced frost buildup.

  • Traditional adjustable Hop-up.

  • Full Size Dropout metal magazine pretty standard on Airsoft pistols.

  • Comes with high quality hard shell case and speed loader.

Cons:

  • Sights are pretty basic, no white dots and non-adjustable as you would expect on a 1911 A1.

  • Very simple Airsoft gun, no modern bits and pieces on it.

  • FPS could be a bit higher but fine for close quarters.

Comments:

The G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is for sure one of the nicer 1911 A1 styled Airsoft pistols, inline with KWC and KJWorks. It does come in a little bit heavier and seems to have more blowback recoil action which is nice. All I need to do now is find out how well it shoots! If it’s not half bad then it is for sure worth the price which by the way is a little bit cheaper than a KWA or KJWorks 1911 and about the same price as a KWC 1911. So many choices I know but that’s a good thing :)

Webley Nemesis and G&G GPM1911 Unboxing Preview Video

I keep getting more and more really cool airguns to review and it’s been hard to keep up with them all and get out Table Top and Field Test videos for each new product. I at least want to be able to get the word out so to speak for some of the new Airguns that come across my tassel even if I may not be able to get to their full reviews right away.

That said I have two new Airguns that we have in our Replica Airguns Stores to show everyone, the Webley Nemesis in .177 Caliber Pellet and the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol. Both could not be any more different for sure but I really like each of them for their own reasons.

The Webley Nemesis is a very unique CO2 powered pistols since it is bolt action like many of the corpsman pistols but the Webley Nemesis .177 Caliber Pellet Pistol comes with a duel sided rotary magazine that holds 7 rounds on each side, the .22 caliber version holds 6 rounds on each side. The .177 caliber version can shoot up to 450 fps while the .22 caliber version has a claimed fps of up to 370. I look forward to testing and reviewing the Webley Nemesis .177 Caliber Pellet Pistol as soon as I can.

I also showcase the G&G GPM1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol which is a well priced basic A1 styled 1911 that is really well built and about one of the heaviest full metal 1911’s I have come across to date hitting the scale at nearly 2 pounds and 4 ounces. Another Replica Airgun I look forward to treating out!

Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM BB vs Airsoft Pistol Comparison

For more of a traditional Table Top Features and Specifications video for the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM Air Pistol, then watch my Table Top Review for the Airsoft Springfield Armory XDM here.

Since both the 6mm Airsoft and 4.5mm Steel BB Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM’s are nearly identical with only a few exceptions, I didn’t feel it was necessary to make another almost identical Table Top Video for the Steel BB firing Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM. Instead I want to focus mainly on the differences in this comparison video.

Watch my Video for all the main differences but in short here they are for those reading this post:

  • Steel BB version uses CO2 while the Airsoft version uses Green Gas or Propane.

  • There is no orange tip on the Steel BB version while Airsoft versions come with orange tips installed.

  • Steel BB versions have 20 round full length magazines for both the 3.8 and 4.5 inch versions, while the Airsoft 3.8 compact comes with the shorter 14 round magazine and the Airsoft 4.5 comes with a longer 25 round magazine.

  • FPS for the Steel BB versions are 270fps for the 3.8 and 325fps for the 4.5, comparably the Airsoft 3.8 is claimed to have 280fps with the 4.5 version a bit higher at 330fps. (Keep in mind that steel BB’s weigh more at around .33 grams compared to the .20 gram plastic Airsoft BB’s used for testing).

  • I did notice that on the sliver slide version, my earlier Airsoft 4.5 had more of a parkerized metallic finish while my same Steel BB version I received at a later time had more of brushed stainless look to it. Air Venturi has since informed me that all silver slide version will now have the brushed stainless finish.

Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: Air Venturi
Model: Springfield Armory XDM 3.8 & 4.5 Inch
Materials: Metal slide & Mag with Polymer frame.
Weight: 1.75 & 1.9 pounds  (794 & 861 grams).
Length: 7.25 & 8.25 inches total length
Barrel: 3.8 & 4.5 inch Metal non-rifled smooth bore.
Propulsion: Green gas or propane.
Action: Blowback, single action only.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 14 & 25 rounds.
FPS: 280-330 fps.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol is pretty much what you would expect on a striker fired SAO pistol. There is very little take up with a light release which should make for great action shooting and help with accuracy when slowing things down a bit.

Accuracy: This time I actually have done my Field Test Shooting video for the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol and it did pretty good, getting a 2 inch 10 round grouping from 30 feet away shooting just a bit low on the target, nothing a bit of hop-up adjustment shouldn’t be able to account for. The claimed fps is 330 for the 4.5 inch version and I was able to average right around 300.

Build Quality: At SHOT Show this year I commented on the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM Pistols and how great they looked and felt. Nothing really different now that I have them in my hands for review. I did notice that my AIrsoft version with the Silver Slide had a kind of metallic parkerized finish while my BB Silver Slide version has a more stainless steel look. I prefer the Stainless Steel look a lot more and feel it makes the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM Pistols look higher quality. Hopefully Air Venturi sticks with the Stainless Steel finish? Build quality and finish are good thought the gun.

Realism: The Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol is really one of the best 1 to 1 copies I have seen out there. It looks pretty much identical including all the licensing and markings in all the right places. It also is full blowback with a full size drop out metal magazine and all the mechanical working parts work the same as the real steel version including the trigger safety, grip safety, slide catch release, take down leaver and magazine release. Field striping is done just like the 9mm big brother allowing for easy hop-up adjustments.

Available in the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Excellent construction, great fit and finish.

  • Full heavy Blowback operation.

  • Lots of metal parts where the real steel version would also have them.

  • Fully Field Strippable.

  • Adjustable Hop-up.

  • Easy to use sights, fiber optic up front and white dot on the back.

  • Springfield Armory fully Licensed.

  • Working serial number, trigger and backstop safeties.

  • Comes with different sized back straps for small to large hands.

  • Rail for adding accessories.

  • Warning instructions are nice and discreet!

  • Your choice of compact or full size versions also in all black or silver slide.

  • Performed well in my Field Test Shooting Review getting a 2 inch 10 shot grouping and close to the claimed fps.

Cons:

  • Comes with the orange tip we all love but should be pretty easy to remove.

  • Sights are non-adjustable. Can use Hop-up to bring shots up or down.

  • Silver Slide Airsoft version finish is not my favorite.

Comments:

Like I said at SHOT Show this year I was super impressed with the entire Springfield Armory lineup and now that I have them in my hands I am still just as impressed with the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistols. You are getting pretty much what everyone looks for in a Replica Airgun: 1 to 1 size and similar weight, full blowback action, full size drop out metal magazine, fully licensed, adjustable hop-up, filed strippable and similar build materials you would find as compared to the real steel 9mm version. I also like that you have a ton of choice offered by Air Venturi: Airsoft or BB, 3.8 inch compact or 4.5 inch full size, silver or black slide and even short lower capacity or longer high capacity magazines for the 3.8 inch version.

Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol in the Indoor Airgun Shooting Range to see what the real world velocity is and just how accurate it will be at 30 feet. I don't have my Table Top Video for the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol just yet but will get to it shortly.

Using .20 gram BB’s I loaded up the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol with propane gas and placed several rounds through my Chronograph to see what the feet per second average would be. The last 5 shots I took where actual the fastest averaging 290 fps, a little bit slower than I was expecting but just about right for close quarters Airsoft games.

I then switched over to .32 gram Airsoft BB’s since they tend to be a bit more accurate out at longer ranges. Using a fresh paper target and shooting from a rested and seated position 30 feet away, I took 10 shots with the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol. The result was a 10 round grouping of about 2 inches with one straggler just outside the main group. The Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol did shoot a little bit low at 30 feet but I am sure the hop-up can be adjusted for this. It was well centered left to right which is a good thing since the sights are non-adjustable.

I really like the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Airsoft Pistol, it looks and feels very solid with a nice balance in the hand. The Single Action Only Trigger is short and light making follow up shots quick and responsive. The blowback action is crisp with good simulated recoil. I look forward to trying out the Steel BB version of the Air Venturi Springfield Armory XDM GBB Pistol as soon as I get my hands on one which should be pretty soon. Take your pick, Airsoft or Steel BB, either is a great choice!

June Update with New Products from Sig Sauer - Crosman - KWC - Air Venturi - Pocket Shot

Again I have some new products to show everyone. Some we got a bit of a preview of when I was at SHOT Show 2019 earlier this year but now I have them in my hands to show off and of course will be doing full Table Top and Filed Test for anything new as soon as I can get to them.

Starting with Sig Sauer, they sent me their brand new Sig Sauer P365 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. This was probably one of my favorite new Air Pistols at SHOT Show simply because it is so small and somehow Sig was able to find a way to put a full size drop out metal magazine that holds both the CO2 and BB’s in it. This is one I am really looking forward to testing out in the Indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range.

Another fantastic product is Crosman’s DPMS Full Auto CO2 BB Rifle which was pretty much perfect the first time around. Well at SHOT Show this year Crosman updated it a bit mainly with some cosmetic changes and now is offering the Crosman MPW, a slightly shorter version of the DPMS and now with an AR Compatible Stock for customizing your Crosman’s MPW Full Auto CO2 BB Rifle.

Yet one more item I was drooling over at SHOT Show 2019 where the Air Venturi Springfield Arms XDM Air Pistols being offered in GBB Airsoft and CO2 BB models along with 3.8 and 4.5 inch versions. It looks like the GBB Airsoft venisons where first out of the factory and I was able to get them in two styles, the Air Venturi Springfield Arms XDM 3.8 GBB Airsoft and Air Venturi Springfield Arms XDM 4.5 GBB Airsoft.

So maybe not as exciting… I also take a look at a NBB CO2 BB Makarov from KWC that is pretty basic but is much less expensive and will offer higher FPS and more shots per CO2 being that it is Non-blowback Airgun. It will be interesting to see how it compares performance wise to the KWC Full Blowback CO2 BB version.

Last but also super cool and I know it’s not really as Airgun related but still something I think everyone will be interested in is the Pocket Shot Pro Arrow Pouch with D-Loop. I reviewed the Pocket Shot “Slingshot” a while back, this new product allows you to use standard Arrows with their new Arrow Pouch getting around 40 pounds of pull and it comes with a trigger release. By the way the Pocket Shot Pro Arrow system is legals to hunt deer with in most US States, I’m not sure about Canada but perhaps here too?

G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol Field Test Review

Make sure to checkout my Table Top Review for the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol where I show you around the G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol nice and close and perform a Field Strip of it.

In the Field Test Shooting Video I perform my standard Chronograph and accuracy tests on the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol. I put 5 rounds ( At least I try to…) through my Chrony Chronograph using slightly heavier than usual .32 gram plastic Airsoft BB's with a full propane filled magazine. My Sea Can Indoor Airgun Range was warmed up sufficiently for a gas gun test (Around 22 degrees Celsius or 70 degrees Fahrenheit) but perhaps because I was using the heavier .32 gram Airsoft BB’s I only managed to get around 230fps for the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol.

Moving onto my accuracy test I placed 10 shots on target 30 feet down range using a rested shooting position, sitting in the back and sand bag up front. I was impressed with how tight of a 10 shot grouping I got! I was able to get the bulk of the shots all within about an inch with only two shots hitting just a little outside of this. The G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol did shoot a little bit low and just a tad to the left but you shoudl be able to raise it up as needed using the built in Hop-up adjustment.

You will notice in my Filed Test Shooting Youtube Video that I did has some initial problems with the G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol misfiring some rounds. This seemed to only happen when I switched to a brand new propane tank and topped up the magazine all the way. My first 4-5 shots seemed to vent a lot of gas and for some reason the G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol would misfire. Once I got through the initial rounds the G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol shot just fine. Not the most powerful Airsoft gun I have tested but for indoor close quarter Airgun battles the G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol would perform just fine.

G&G Armament GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer:  G&G
Model: GTP9
Materials: Polymer slide & frame.
Weight: 1.5 pounds (680 grams).
Length: 8.85 inches (22.5 cm) total
Barrel: 4.4 inches (11.2 cm), Metal non-rifled smooth bore.
Propulsion: Green gas or propane.
Action: Blowback, single action only.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 23 rounds.
FPS: 350-400 fps.

Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol is light with just a little bit of take-up. Since there is a built in trigger safety you will need to make sure your finger is firmly on the trigger or you may notice the trigger safety binding a little bit. Other than that the trigger pull is smooth.

Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol but I did get the chance to shot it quickly in my Sea Can indoor shooting range. Blowback felt pretty decent considering the slide is polymer and I was able to get most of my shots on or near the bullseye from about 25 feet out free standing. I did really like the more open sight setup as it allowed me to see over and under my target giving me a bigger picture of what I am lined up with.

Build Quality: Like pretty much all G&G Airsoft guns, the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol build quality is very high quality all around. Fit and finish where excellent and even though the slide is polymer the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol felt solid in the hadn't and had a decent overall weigth to it. I know plastic slides are not always everyones first choice but the slide on the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol did have good weight to it allowing for decent blowback feel and in many cases plastic will be more durable than pot metal or zinc metal slides and stand up to abuse and wear and tear better.

Realism: The G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistolis not a replica of any specific real steel gun in production but it is designed to look like your common modern pistol and it seems many of these modern pistols have some Glock like tributes, that square shaped slide, square trigger guard and shallow thumb rest. That all said the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol has all of the right stuff we look for in a replica pistol like a full size drop out metal magazine, full blowback operation and of course the ability to field strip the gun juts for fun or for occasional cleaning.

Available in the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • Most external parts on gun are polymer so you will not get finish wear or noticeable scratches on it. Also keeps the weight down.

  • Threaded barrel for adding a mock suppressor.

  • Comes with two different sized Grip Back-straps to accommodate small and larger hands.

  • Expect to get decent amount of shots per gas fill (around 3-4 magazines).

  • Adjustable Hop-up that is super easy to access with no gun disassembly required.

  • Micro Gas Filter and Whirl Cylinder Valve help to manage gas efficiency.

  • Full Size Dropout metal magazine pretty standard on Airsoft pistols these days.

  • Rail for accessories if you choose.

  • Open white dot sights make it super easy to see your target.

  • Dual safety system, cross bolt on frame and trigger safety.

  • Narrow and light, would make a great lightweight side arm for Airsoft battles.

Cons:

  • Some people may not like the polymer slide?

  • Sights is non adjustable but mine got bullseyes from 25 out.

Comments:

Normally I am not a big fan of all plastic or polymer guns but in the case of the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol I think it makes sense, G&G has done a great job of making the plastic slide feel solid and have good overall weigth to it so you still get that weighty feeling int he hand and enough blowback to feel the recoil with each shot. I also think the G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol will be more durable long term and look better even if it gets knocked around since you won’t see the scratches and dings that you would see on a metal gun. The G&G GTP9 GBB Airsoft Pistol also has a ton of stuff going on that I have not seen on other guns to date like the open rear sights for better sight framing and that super cool easy to access hop-up adjustment system.

Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback GBB Airsoft Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex.
Model: Glock 17 Gen 4.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.45 pounds (658 grams).
Barrel: 3.75 inches metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: Green Gas or Propane.
Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 20 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 300+.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol is fairly short with only a little bit of take up, the release is light and crips. The blowback action resets the internal Hammer / Striker with each shot for that true single action trigger and it’s also nice that the trigger does have a working trigger safety.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is around 300 using Green Ga or Propane. This is fine for playing Airsoft games but for Canada import it can get a bit sticky. Luckily we where able to get a bunch into Canada so hopefully we can get some more in our Canada Replica Airguns Store in the future… US supply will be less of a problem.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol seems well made overall. It does seem a little bit underweight but still feels solid enough in the hand. The Slide is metal but has a bit of an unusual finish that makes it look a lot like the plastic frame rather than a more shiny metal look. All the parts seem to fit nicely, maybe even a bit snug at first as I noticed the side had a bit of friction to it but seems to be working in nicely now.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol  looks the part of a Glock 17 4th Generation all day long. Other then the slightly lighter weight it would be hard to tell off hand until you remove the magazine and take a closer look. All the parts work as you would expect them to, similar to the real steel version and you can even fully field strip the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistol which makes getting to and adjusting the hop-up easy enough to do.
Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Decent weight and feel to it, build quality seems good.

  • Really nice looking replica of the original Glock 17 Gen 4.

  • Fully Glock licensed.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.

  • Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 20 6mm Airsoft BB’s.

  • Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard

  • Nice light SAO trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.

  • Working trigger safety.

Cons:

  • May or may not come with an orange tip but can be fairly remissly removed.

  • Sight are non-adjustable which is common with low cost airguns like this one.

  • FPS is a bit low making Canada import difficult.

Comments:

Getting the Umarex BB versions of the Glock 17 and Glock 19 has for sure been a bit easier since fps velocity is not a factor. So it was great that we where able to import at least some of these Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen GBB Airsoft Pistols into Canada. I hope we will be able to continue supplying the Glock Airsoft versions in our Canada Replica Airguns Store but I can not promise anything… So if you see some in stock then grab one while you still can!

Glock BB and Airsoft Pistol Preview

In this Vimeo Preview Video I show off three new Glock and Glock-like Air Pistols. Two of them are from Umarex and are Glock Licensed, one being a GGB Airsoft Pistol and the other is a CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I also show an unlicensed Glock-like CO2 Blowback BB Pistol from KWC that kind of looks like a glock but has several key differences that do make it deviate a fair amount from that of a true Glock pistol.

Starting with the KWC 17. At first glance you may think it looks a lot like a Glock but on closer inspection it has the following differences: Notched out trigger guard, extended thumb guard or beaver tail, straight pistol grip with no finger indents, cut out on slide, slide serration on front. The KWC 17 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a full blowback Airgun with a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 17 rods of 4.5mm steel BB’s. You can expect to get around 330 fps for it.

Another Blowback CO2 BB Glock is the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol which is fully Glock licensed and also features a full size drop out metal magazine that hold 18 4.5mm steel BB’s. The Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is a partial blowback Airgun so you can expect a little bit higher velocity of around 365 fps and additional shots per CO2.

Lastly I show you the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 4 GBB Airsoft Pistol, another fully Glock Licensed airgun with full blowback operation and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds 20 6mm plastic Airsfot BB’s and the either Green Gas or Propane Gas. Velocity will be around 300 fps on this one.

Pickup one of these Glock and Glock-like Airguns form either our Canada or US online Replica Airgun stores!

ASG SHOT Show 2019 Interview

This year at SHOW Show 2019 Bob from ASG had a lot to show me so make sure to watch the full Interview Video for all the details and information.

Bob and I first go over a new ASG CZ Airsoft Pistol called the Shadow 2 kind of like a modernized SP-01 Shadow. The ASG CZ Shadow 2 is a competition stile pistol with adjustable sights and trigger and will come in both CO2 and Green Gas magazine options.

Next up Bob showed me the CZ75 SP01 ACCU Shadow with some special edition features like: Ergonomic anodized aluminum grips with grip tape, match style high sights, oversized slide release and ambidextrous safety and a tunable anodized aluminum trigger.

ASG being the exclusive partner with ICS had some new ICS Pistols to show us. First up was the Airsoft ICS XPD, a compact Gas Blowback System that will come with shorter compact magazines and extended magazines that will hold more green gas. Both Gas magazines will feature a new valve system called the Revo system.

If you like the feel of a 1911 but perhaps want something a bit more modern then checkout the New ASG Korth PRS Airsoft Pistol, you can even put real 1911 grips on it!

Not new to ASG this year is the CZ Scorpion Evo 3 A1 but ASG has enhanced this Airsoft rifle by working with a designer to adding an M-Lok Handguard, Magwell Grip and Fore Grip that will be a three part system you can customize.

Last Bob showed me around the CQR Hera Arms Airsoft Rifle that is a collaboration of ASG, Hara Arms, ICS. It will come in standard Mosfet and Triple-S (Smart Shooting System).

Looking forward to getting my hands-on some of these new ASG

Air Venturi SHOT Show 2019 Interview

Air Venturi announced their new Springfield Armory lien of BB and Airsoft guns at SHOT Show 2019 and of course I stopped by to talk with Scott and see what these new products where all about!

First off we have the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine Rifle. You will be able to get it in either 4.5mm Steel BB or 6mm Airsoft versions. Both will have full drop out metal magazines that hold the 12 gram CO2 and either 15 BB or Airsoft rounds. You can expect around 40-60 shots per CO2 since the Springfield Armory M1 Carbine is a full blowback Airgun. The standard version will come with a synthetic wood stock that is very believable but for around $100 more you will have the option of a real wood stock which does add a bit to more weight to the rifle.

Continuing on with some more Springfield Armory Airguns. Air Venturi will be distributing the XDM pistol in a compact and full size configuration, again both 4.5mm Steel BB and Airsoft versions. There will be a solid black version and a two tone silver slide version so lots of options to pick from. The 4.5mm Steel BB version will use a 12 gram CO2 while the Airsoft version will allow for Green Gas or CO2 mags.

I wanted to mention one more product Scott showed me that is still in production, a reactive target system called the Bata-Bang that connects to your phone via Bluetooth allowing you to time your shooting and play shooting games with it and others even online. Hopefully we see this product soon from Air Venturi!
