Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH MP-61 is a nice light 1.4 pounds and the release stage is also adjustable, you actually need to be careful of accidental shots as the trigger is light enough to go off before you are ready to shoot.
Accuracy: Very good, I was not so sure when first using the IZH-61 with my initial scope and pellet setup but my second open sight test with different pellets yielded a very tight 1 inch group from 30 feet out in a standing unrested position.

Build Quality: This is a no-nonsense gun made Russian style, it is built to be cost effective so there are parts that could be made with metal that are plastic but there isn't anything on this gun that feels cheap or poorly built. Baikal also doesn't cheap out on the plastic as not all plastic is the same. I actually dropped the IZH MP-61 right on the front hooded sight without any adverse effects, cheap plastic would have cracked and broken.
Realism: Since the Baikal IZH-61 is not a replica gun, I can not really compare it to any existing one rifle out there, but it does look very tactical in design, much more so then your standard spring piston air rifle.

Comments:
The Baikal IZH MP-61 is a really nice low cost yet full featured air riffle! You really get a lot of rifle for your money: You get an efficient side lever design with a 5 shot magazines for quick repeat shots, a very light weight and adjustable trigger, an adjustable stock, a rail mount for a scope and one of the more tactical looking air rifles available on the market. The Baikal MP-61 also takes the FPS right up to the limit without going over so no license or PAL is required to own this one in Canada. This air rifle is designed for target shooting but could also be used for small pest control if your marksmanship is good enough to hit the vital kill zones of your prey.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Anics Skif A-3000 in single action is fairly good and short, not light but far from heavy. When shooting in double action mode, it does get significantly heavier do to the 28 round rotary magazine friction. Overall it is fairly smooth in double action mode but once in a while you can hit a bit of a sticky spot in the rotation. With that said I was expecting it to be worse and found it usable for me.

Accuracy: I shot this air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position in single action mode and it performed well getting a very respectable 1.5 inch grouping pretty much right on the target. The sights can be adjusted for windage and elevation if your aim is not centered, I had to adjust mine up almost 4-5 inches from the factory settings. With my Chrony Chronograph testing using 7 grain lead pellets I got right up into the low 400fps (8 shot average of 417 fps) and would expect BB's to shoot a bit faster.

Build Quality: The Skiff A-3000 uses a metal slide and polymer frame, there are also lots of metal parts used in the gun like the barrel, slide catch, safety, hammer and sights. Even though it only has a claimed weight of about 1.6 pounds, it feels heavier in the hand. The mechanics seem solid and well designed.

Realism: The Anics Skif A-3000 looks a bit like a mix between a Glock and a Walther P series semi auto hand gun but it is very unique looking. The Skif A-3000 looks the part of a real gun for sure, but exactly which gun is hard to say!

Comments:

The Anics Skif A-3000 is a very cool gun, nothing looks or works exactly the same with its 28 round pellet loading rotary magazine and ultra modern looks. Sure it has a heavy double action trigger and it's always nice to have blowback but on the other hand the tradeoff is more power and a super high capacity magazine. Combine that with a fully adjustable rear sight, rifled barrel, single and double action trigger and the ability to shoot both pellets and BB's and you have a real winner here.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Walther CPSport is in the mid range with most of the effort at the beginning and middle stages, it does have a predictable release point making it easy to put pellets on target. The CPSport definitely has a lighter trigger then the Umarex Walther PPQ I reviewed earlier.

Accuracy: I shot this air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting an decent 2 inch grouping just to the left and a bit high on the target. The sights can be adjusted for windage if your aim is off to one side or the other. With Chrony Chronograph testing using 6.9 grain lead pellets I got pretty close to the factory claim of 360fps with an average 8 shot fps of 356.

Build Quality: This is an almost all external polymer air gun with a good deal of metal components on the inside giving the Walther CPSport a decent overall weight and heft. It's worth mentioning that the Walther CPSport has a full size drop out magazine for holding the CO2 cartridge that gives the air gun some additional weight and functionality. The fit and finish is very good on the CPSport and the plastic quality seems very durable.

Realism: The Umarex Walther CPSport is licensed by Walther and is loosely based around the Walther P99. The frame is very similar to the P99 but the slide is not nearly as accurate. If you want to step up to a closer replica of the Walther P99, then you may want to take a look at the Umarex CP99 Pellet pistol.

Pros:

• Very reasonable price for a well German made full featured airgun.

• Can shoot BB's with the Umarex rotary BB magazine.

• Rifled barrel.

• Easy to use white sights adjustable for windage.

• The plastic exterior may put off some customers looking for metal guns.

• The slide could have more detail work on it to make this gun a bit more believable.

• The small .177 caliber viewable barrel port is a bit of a giveaway in terms of realism but may help a bit with fps.

Comments:

The Umarex Walther CPSport Pellet air pistol is a great combination of quality vs price. Even though this gun uses a lot of plastic in the build it still performed flawlessly and looks the part, I did not have a single misfire out of all the 100 shots I took! All the mechanical parts of this gun work smoothly making for a very enjoyable and accurate gun to shoot, giving the shooter the confidence that this gun will work exactly a it is intended to do.

The Webley Alecto (AKA: Zoraki HP-01) may not fit in exactly as a "Replica" Airgun, although it does resemble a bloated Dessert Eagle! But it is an Airgun worthy of spending some time reviewing an this is now my third Vimeo Video review for the Webley Alecto. I really wanted to do a video of this gun just shooting because that's what it does best, put lead down range very accurately! So I setup three cameras to capture it all from just about every angle I could think of and I set up 30 feet away from my target and shot 5 rounds in a rested position using a Red Dot Scope. The results where not surprising - pretty close to a 1/2 inch grouping!

Recently I reviewed the Umarex Walther PPQ, a new airgun just released by Umarex. The PPQ kind of reminds me of the CPSPort in many ways, but the PPQ is a lower cost version of the CPSport. I think if you have a bit extra money to put into an airgun, go with the Umarex Walther CPSport CO2 Pellet Pistol as you get a much lighter and smoother trigger along with better build quality and a full size drop out CO2 magazine which is a very nice touch.

The Umarex MP5K PDW is another gun I reviewed a while back that I though could use a bit of an update video with some of the new gadgets I have to added to my videos these days... This time my Umarex MP5K PDW gets the office Replica Airguns Chronograph test, I take it through an accuracy test shooting 8 rounds at a target from 20 feet out in a free standing position. And to end things off and since the Umarex MP5K PDW has a blowback bolt or at least what appears to be a blowback bolt, I also take some slow motion high speed video of the blowback in action.

I also got to play around with my DRIFT HD170 Point of View Action Camera and use it to take some really cool first person style video of teh Umarex MP5 in action. Overall I was impressed with the H&K MP5K BB gun overall, it shot very accurately when shooting slow and in rapid fire and it also got right up to the 400 FPS factory claim.

OK to start things off, this is a review of the Daisy Red Ryder Lever action BB Rifle but the Vimeo Video also compares the Red Ryder to the very similar Crosman Marlin Cowboy Lever Action BB Riffle, If you have not checked my Marlin Cowboy review out, you can see it here.

So for the most part I am going to focus on the Red Ryder in this text version but I will refer to the Marlin Cowboy when comparing the two BB air rifles.

Barrel: Smooth bore.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull is pretty good, not super light but predictable. (the trigger area is much larger then the Crosman Marlin Cowboy which may be more suitable for adults with thick fingers)

Accuracy: When I originally tested my Marline Cowboy I thought it performed well but the Daisy Red Ryder definitely has the advantage in the accuracy department, at least in my testing. I got about a 1.5 inch 8 shot group from a free standing position 20 feet away from the target.

Build Quality: This is a pretty much all metal and wood gun with a build quality almost exactly like the Crosman Marlin Cowboy. Daisy has even made some improvements like upgrading the lever to metal from plastic, most likely to compete with Crosman on this feature. The only plastic I found was the trigger, safety and front sight assembly.

Realism: Even though this BB gun is styled after the classic lever action Cowboy Rifle, it's not a close replica to any that I know of. You have to keep in mind the purpose of this gun - meant primarily for younger first time shooters. There are some nice touches like the leather tassels and the Red Ryder name burned into the stock .

• Inexpensive introduction to the sport of Airgun shooting.

• Made out of Mostly Metal and Wood - Now including the Lever.

• Large capacity internal barrel magazine (650 rounds).

• Adjustable rear sight for height.

• Excellent accuracy and consistency.

• The original maker of this style of BB rifle - great track record!

Comments:

I think this is a wonderful little BB rifle and even though it's intended for the young entry level shooter it can make a great back yard plinker that anyone can join in and enjoy - adults included! I plan to be shooting either the Red Ryder or my Marline Cowboy side by side with my little guy when he is old enough to shoot one of these fine lever action BB rifles. When it comes to picking between the Daisy Red Ryder or the Crosman Marlin Cowboy Lever Action BB Rifles it comes down to a few points: Both have almost the exact same build quality so it may come down to which look you like best? The Daisy was more accurate while the Crosman had a bit more power. The Red Ryder had the lighter but longer lever action pull while the Marlin Cowboy had a heavier shorter lever pull.

If you can't decide just buy them both because they are dirt cheap to buy and tons of fun to shoot, so when your friends come over you can always pass them one so they won't feel left out!

First off, you may have noticed this Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle is not an airgun or a blank gun! So why am I reviewing it? This isn't going to be a review as much as it's going to be an overview.

I just really wanted to share this awesome little .22 caliber rimfire shooter with you because if you're like me then you may also appreciate the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle like I do. One reason I like airguns is because they are generally lower cost to purchase and lower cost to shoot then your average powder burner. My Henry .22 only set me back $269 and I have probably paid more for some of my airguns so this was not to bad on the pocket book. Another bonus is I can shoot this gun all day long because .22 caliber rimfire ammo is about 1/10th or less the cost of regular powder based ammo. I can buy a box of 500+ shells for under $20!

When purchasing a rimfire .22 caliber gun, you have to also consider what ammunition you are going to be using as not all rimfire .22 caliber guns will shoot all types of .22 caliber ammo. You can get .22 rimfire ammunition in "Long Rifle", "Long", "Short" and even "Buckshot". Keep in mind that not all .22 caliber guns will operate properly with all kinds of .22 caliber rimfire ammo. For instance, autoloaders generally require the "Long Rifle" ammunition to cycle properly. What I love about the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 is that it can shoot pretty much any .22 caliber rimfire ammunition you through at it except for the magnum loads which is a totally different gun altogether.

Another bonus to using the .22 caliber short ammo is that it is about as loud as a standard airgun, at least when using a rifle. So if you don't want to draw attention to yourself then pickup some shorts and plink away! Depending on what manufacturer of shorts you purchase they tend to shoot in the 700-1000 FPS using around a 20-30 grain bullet, so they are still perfectly good for small pest control. Just make sure to keep in mind what is beyond your target as a 20-30 grain bullet will penetrate objects and travel farther then a much lighter .22 caliber pellet even traveling at the same speed.

As this is just an overview I want ot cover some of the main points about the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle...

In my recent acquisition of guns from my friend, I also procured a customized Crosman 2240 .22 caliber CO2 bolt action air pistol. It came customized with a new RJ Machine bolt, longer barrel and wood grips.

All I need to add is a nice Red Dot or low powered pistol scope and this classic CO2 air pistol will make a really nice target shooter.

I purchased a bunch of "near new" air guns from a friend of mine last week who was't using them anymore and thought I could put them to better use. I was happy to oblige!

I already have the Crosman Quest 800 Break Barrel .22 caliber rifle for my pest control but you can always use one with more power! The break barrel Benjamin Sheridan Super Streak in .22 caliber is rated at up to 1000 fps and it is a real beast of an air gun to say the least. It came with a nice 4-16-40mm scope and I added an NCStar bi-pod to it to help distribute some of the weight.

I sighted it in at about 50 feet and was able to get about a nice 1 inch grouping with it from a rested position. I am looking forward to using this gun when my fruit trees start producing.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Walther CP88 is extremely nice in both single and double action mode with the single action having the lightest pull making it really easy to shoot on target with accuracy.

Accuracy: I shot this air gun at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed very well getting about a two inch grouping close to the center of the target and staying in the two inch sweet spot even with 3 magazines or 24 rounds shot, I shot just a little bit high and to the right. The good news is the sights can be adjusted for windage if you are shooting a tad bit to the left or right. My Chrony testing with an eight shot averaged result was 360 fps using 6.9 grain RWS pellets.

Build Quality: This is an almost all metal air gun with great fit and finish and a nice dense 2.25 pound weight to it. It's made in Germany, so you know it's made right? The only plastic parts to speak of are the grips which are a hard matte black plastic which matches the rest of the airgun nicely. All the mechanical parts operation are as smooth as butter.

Realism: The Umarex Walther CP88 is a licensed replica of the real Walther P88 semi auto pistol. It looks very close to the real steel with the exception of the break in the slide where the rotary magazine is accessible and the extra "C" in the name.

• Almost all metal construction - good weight and very solid feeling gun - 2.25 pounds!

• German made!

• Comes in a nice hard-shell case.

• Very nice looking gun with in the Matte black - Blued finish.

• Very good accuracy, decent FPS for a pellet shooing pistol and good usage of CO2 (12 magazines).

I have to say I pretty much like everything about this airgun; Its size, its looks, it's German build and quality and the way it shoots. The Umarex Walther CP88 air pistol is one of those airguns I think everyone should save up for just to have the pleasure to own and shoot. It may not have blowback or a full size drop out magazine like some of the other newer styled flashier air pistols but I can tell you it is a real joy to shoot. This is the last airgun addition for today! I just added a new pellet pistol that is a bit hard to get here in North America! The entire Anics line is not too common. The Anics Skif A-3000 CO2 pellet pistol is styled after the Walther P22 semi auto pistol. Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Valtro Airgun 92 has a medium weight in single action mode making it easy to place your shots on target. Double action shooting is also possible but does have a much heavier trigger pull, I found it on the heavy side but still had no problems shooting rapid fire in double action mode.

Accuracy: I shot the Airgun 92 at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well after I figured the gun out and tried a few pellet variations. In the end I was able to get the Airgun 92 to shoot about a 1.5 to 2 inch grouping just to the left of the center mass on the target. The sights are non-adjustable, but for me there wasn't really a need to adjust them since I was well on target. My Chrony testing with a six shot averaged result was 330 fps.

Build Quality: The Valtro Airgun 92 is another air pistol that utilizes Polymer in many of the parts of the air gun. Valtro did not cheap out and put plastic where it could effect the performance. The barrel, trigger, hammer, CO2 screw tab, Magazine ejector and the majority of the working parts are all metal with the exception of teh external shell being made form polymer plastic, and even then the polymer is nice and thick and meant to last.

Realism: The Valtro Airgun 92 is a close copy of the Beretta 92FS styled semi auto pistol which is one of my favorite old school pistol designs. You will not find any Beretta branding on the Airgun 92 as it is not a licensed replica but from a few feet away it would be hard to tell them apart.

• The double action trigger is a bit tough but still usable.
• May have more plastic in teh build then some people like.
• Could have just a bit more power but still a great plinker.

I definitely recommend the Valtro Airgun 92, especially if you are a Beretta fan! This pellet shooter is a mid-range priced gun that has a lot going for it: Italian built, high capacity pellet magazine, unique CO2 system with never ending shots, double and single action, rifled barrel, hard shell case, and overall great looks and performance. If you're looking for an air pistol with a bit more accuracy over a BB shooter (especially at longer ranges), then take a look at the Valtro Airgun 92 for your next air pistol purchase.
