Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Carbine. Manufacturer: G&G Model: SMC-9 Materials: Metal/Aluminum & Polymer. Weight: 4.7 pounds (2125 grams). Length: 410/620mm folded/unfolded length Hop-up: Yes - 120 click adjustment. Propulsion: Green gas or propane. Action: Semi & Full AutoBlowback, single action only. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 50 rounds. FPS: 366-375 fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine is typical single action only with a soft short take-up and light release point. I would not call this a crips trigger since it does have a rather spongy feel to it but this is only noticeable when you are easing the trigger slowly. In reality you will be engaging the trigger quickly when shooting it on the field and won’t notice any of the creep or take-up. I would consider it to be a decent trigger pull over all.
Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine but as with most of my Full auto Airguns I find it hard not resist going outside and blasting off at least one magazine in full auto. Of course this was the case with the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine and I can tell you I went through all 50 rounds in not time and the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine rounds went exactly where I pointed the gun short and long range so I expect my Field Test Shooting video to produce good results.
Build Quality: The G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine feels amazing in the hand with a lot of metal going on in the upper Carbine conversion kit portion, the front rail assembly is CNC Aluminum and the Pop-up iron sights are actually metal. The rear fold out stock is plastic but it is sold and just like the rest of the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine very well made with great fit and finish. Of course the lower polymer frame is from the G&G GTP9 and just like all of the G&G pistols is very well made.
Realism: The G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine genuinely feels like a real steel firearm when holding it in the hand. Shooting it feels much the same but obviously with a lot less recoil than a powder burner. Just like a real steel 9mm Carbine the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine mechanically works virtually the same with working slide catch release, charging handles, magazine release, and duel safeties, all ambidextrous by the way. As expected you can fully field strip the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine.
Lots of metal parts giving the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine really good weigth and feel.
Fold out stock sits nice and tight using magnets when not in use.
Integrated QD sling swivel.
Comes with two different sized Back-straps to accommodate small and larger hands.
Super high capacity extended 50 round magazine that holds a ton of gas for consistent power and lots of shots per fill.
Converts the standard GTP9 semi auto pistol into a full auto Carbine.
Almost everything is ambidextrous.
CNC 20mm / MLOK Rail for lots of accessories options.
Actual metal pop-up fully adjustable sights.
Easy to adjust hop-up without disassembly.
Dual safety system, cross bolt on frame and trigger safety.
Cons:
Fold out stock is not adjustable which makes the sights are a bit tight.
Does not come with the pistol slide if you want to covert it back to the GTP9.
Comments:
I am a big fan of the full line of G&G Airsoft guns and so far their GBB pistol lineup has been a treat to review, adding their new G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine to the lineup for me is the perfect mix between their GBB Pistol lineup and their mostly AEG Rifle lineup. I am hoping to see if I can acquire the drum magazine and eventually see how that works with the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine, for now the 50 round extended magazine will have to do. Really looking forward to testing out the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine so stay posted for those results shortly!
My YouTube Table Top Review of the G&G SMC-9 GBB Airsoft Carbine:
In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the G&G Piranha MK I & TR GBB Airsoft Pistols in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range to see what the real world performance is for these very similar Airsoft Pistols. I first place 5 rounds through my Chronograph for each Airsoft Gun using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s with fully gassed up magazines to find out what the actual fps velocity is. I then shoot 10 rounds from a seated and rested shooting position into fresh paper targets setup 30 feet down range to see just what we can expect in terms of accuracy from the G&G Piranha series.
Starting with my Chronograph test, a placed 5 rounds through my Chronograph with both the G&G Piranha MK I and G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistols. Technically they should have performed nearly identical but not all guns are setup exactly the same out of the box and so the G&G Piranha MK I GBB Airsoft Pistol did shoot a bit hotter than the G&G Piranha & TR GBB Airsoft Pistol averaging 290 fps versus 257 fps. As a quick test I placed the magazine from the MK I into the TR and the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol did shoot much hotter and very close to the G&G Piranha MK resultsI. I would assume the valves in these magazines where perhaps not letting out the same amount of Gas hence the difference in velocity. The velocity was well under the claimed 370+but I was using slightly heavier BB’s and it was a little cold in the Sea Can on this testing day, not quite room temperature. Around 19 degrees Celsius or 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
Moving onto the accuracy testing for the G&G Piranha MK I & TR GBB Airsoft Pistols, they performed pretty well shooting 10 round 2 inch groupings with both Airsoft Pistols shooting on the money vertically while the G&G Piranha MK I shot a bit to the left and the G&G Piranha TR shooting well centered all around.
All in both of the G&G Piranha MK I & TR GBB Airsoft Pistols performed good for me, I would have liked to have seen the fps higher since both guns where well under the claimed 370+ fps but for close quarter shooting you should have no problem with either of them and again maybe your magazine will shoot a bit hotter than mine did. The partial blowback action is snappy and quick with just enough recoil action to give that realistic shooting experience. The triggers on the G&G Piranha MK I & TR GBB Airsoft Pistols are really nice allowing for quick tight followup shots and again if you like the look and feel of a Glock but perhaps want something a bit more unique then you will want to consider one of the G&G Piranha series Airsoft Pistols know doubt.
In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range to see what the real world performance is for this Beretta 92 styled G&G Airsoft Pistol. I first place 5 rounds through my Chronograph using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s with a fully gassed up magazine to find out what the actual FPS is. I then shoot 10 rounds from a seated and rested shooting position into a fresh paper target setup 30 feet down range to see just what we can expect in terms of accuracy from the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol.
Starting with my Chronograph test, the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol averaged 275 FPS with the fastest shot recorded at 278 FPS and the slowest being 274 FPS, so very consistent in terms of sustained FPS doing my testing. The velocity was well under the claimed 366 but I was using slightly heavier BB’s and it was a little cold in the Sea Can on this testing day, not quite room temperature. Around 19 degrees Celsius or 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
Moving onto the accuracy testing for the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol, it performed pretty decent shooting about a 10 round 1.5 inch grouping if I removed one flyer that pulled a bit to the left. The grouping was a little bit low but well centered left and right so even though the sights are none adjustable I should be able to pull up the shot placement a bit using the hop-up adjustment.
All in all the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol performed well for me, I would have liked to see the FPS just a bit higher but for close quarter shooting you should have no problem with it. The blowback action is nice and firm and the typical Beretta single and double action trigger is true to form allowing for a round in the pipe with the hammer safely decocted but ready to go with a quick release of the safety and a double action pull of the first round. The G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol may be a bit bulky and heavy for some smaller handed shooter so keep that in mind.
Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: G&G Model: Piranha TR Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 1.5 pounds (670 grams). Length: 7.8 inches total Barrel: 4.01 inches,Metal non-rifled smooth bore. Propulsion: Green gas or propane. Action: Blowback, single action only. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 25rounds. FPS: 370+ fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol is typical single action only with a easy short take up (some of which is the trigger safety engaging), followed by a crisp predictable light release. The quick slide cycle allows for quick semi auto shooting with the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol making it a great fast action shooter with quick target acquisition between shots.
Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol but I expect it to perform similar to most G&G Blowback Gas Operated Airsoft Pistols and shoot consistently in the mid 300 fps with a 10 round grouping around 1-2 inches. Stay posted for my Field Test Shooting Video where I hope to confirm these predictions in the Sea Can indoor Airgun Shooting Range.
Build Quality: Like most off theG&G Airsoft guns, the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol build quality is really nice. Fit and finish are excellent with virtually zero slide wiggle, you can also get the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol in a two tone stainless slide and chrome finish barrel that looks really sharp. It also has an updated Ceramic Whirl Cylinder Valve technology from G&G that should significantly help with freezing in colder or fast shooting situations along with a new Hop-up system you can easily adjust using a special tool without taking the Airsoft gun apart.
Realism: The G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol as far as I can determines not an exact replica of any specific real steel gun in production but it does share looks, size and feel to that of the Glock but perhaps with an even more modernized look to it. You will find realistic function to the G&G Piranha MK I GBB Airsoft Pistoling terms of it’s operation with its full blowback action, working slide catch release, magazine release trigger safety and takedown lever allowing for it to be easily and quickly field stripped.
Good balance of metal and plastic for a balanced and light feel.
Partial slide Blowback operation should allow for even better gas performance and snappy operation.
Ceramic Whirl Cylinder Valve should expect to get decent amount of shots per green gas fill.
White dot sights front and back.
Nice two tone slide.
Has a working trigger safety.
Smaller spit grip perfect for people smaller hands.
Comes with hard shell case.
New Hop-up system for quick and easy fine adjustments with no need to field strip the gun.
Dual 20mm top and bottom Rails for accessories.
Comes in all black and two tone black and sliver.
Comes with high quality speed loader
Threaded barrel tip for add on mock suppressor.
Cons:
Sights are non adjustable.
Not an actual replica of any specific gun I know of but does share some Glock attributes.
No actual frame safety other than the trigger safeties, (not always a bad thing).
Comments:
Overall I really like the new G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol, it has a really modern look to it yet has a familiar feel. The G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol is fairly light weight with that quick and snappy partial slide allowing for very quick follow up shots. Combine all of that with the new Gas saving Ceramic Whirl Cylinder Valve I expect the G&G Piranha TR GBB Airsoft Pistol to perform really well when in action. I like that you have the option of the more subdued all black version or if you like your guns to be a little bit more flashy you can also get it in the two tone with black and stainless version. The TR version over MK 1 does allow for optics on top which personally would not be my choice for this gun but it’s nice that you have this option.

My Table Top Review Video of the G&G Piranha MK I GBB Airsoft Pistol:
Type: Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: G&G Model: GPM92 GP2 Materials: Metal slide & frame, real wood grips. Weight: 2.3 pounds (1040 grams). Length: 8.9 inches total Barrel: 4.6 inches,Metal non-rifled smooth bore. Propulsion: Green gas or propane. Action: Blowback, single and double action. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 28rounds. FPS: 366+ fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol is very good in both single and double action. Double action is a bit longer but not that much heavier when shooting in single action. Single action shooting is short, light and crisp as you would expect when shooting a real steel Beretta 92 style pistol.
Accuracy: I have not done my actual Field Test Shooting video review for the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol but it should perform similar to my earlier review of the G&G GPM92 GBB Airsoft Pistol where it performed fairly well shooting in the mid 300 fps with a nice under 1 inch 10 round shot placement for 30 feet down range.
Build Quality: Like pretty much all G&G Airsoft guns, the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol build quality is right inline. Fit and finish where excellent and a lot of attention to detail was seen all over this Replica Airsoft Pistol. It also has an updated Ceramic Whirl Cylinder Valve technology from G&G that should significantly help with freezing in colder or fast shooting situations along with a new Hop-up system you can easily adjust without taking the Airsoft gun apart.
Realism: The G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol is an excellent replica of the real steel Beretta Mod. 92FS, the safety even acts as a working de-cocker. You'll also find 5, 10, and 15 numbered markings on the backside of the magazine that would normally indicate how many bullets are in the magazine, a nice touch for sure! Everything works pretty much the same as it would on a real Beretta M9 including the ability to fully field strip the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol. I like the addition of th real wood grips that are a bit thicker than the plastic ones but if you ahed decent sized hands this shoudl not be a problem for you.
Ceramic Whirl Cylinder Valve should expect to get decent amount of shots per green gas fill.
White dot sights front and back.
Nice real wood grips.
Comes with hard shell case.
New Hop-up system for quick and easy fine adjustments with no need to field strip the gun.
20mm Rail for accessories.
comes in three different color schemes. Black, Silver, Gold.
Comes with high quality speed loader
Safety also works as a de-cocker.
Threaded removable barrel tip for add on mock suppressor.
Cons:
Sights are non adjustable.
Wood grips make the grips a bit thicker than plastic grips.
Price does go up especially if yo want the silver or gold version.
Comments:
I would have to say the new G&G GPM92 GP2 is one of the nicest Beretta Model 92FS Airsoft Pistols you are going to find out there, even a step up over the previous GPM92 model. There is a ton of attention to detail for sure, You also get the hard shell case with included high quality speed loader and G&G's updated Ceramic Valve and Revolutionary Whirl Cylinder Valve that help with freeze-up issues. It’s also nice that you no longer are required to filed strip the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol in order to adjust hop-up and the real wood grips just really finish off this quality product from G&G.
My Table Top Review of the G&G GPM92 GP2 GBB Airsoft Pistol:
In this Preview Unboxing Video I take a look at five Gas Blowback Airsoft Pistols. Three of them are from G&G and two are from ICS. All offer full blowback operation and are green gas or propane powered with full size metal drop out magazines.
I am super excite to showcase three awesome rifles in this Update Preview Unboxing Video. Two of which are Airsoft and one is a Steel BB shooter, all of which are semi and full auto selectable. In this video I do a bit of an unboxing and preview of each Rifle not going into too much detail as I want to leave most of the information for my Table Top and Filed Test Videos. The main purpose of this video is to let everyone know we have these Rifles in our Canada Replica Airguns Store now for sale.
I may as well talk about them in the order they appear in my video so lets start with the ICS CXP APE AEG Airsoft Rifle. The ICS CXP APE AEG Airsoft Rifle is a mostly metal Electric Airsoft Rifle with realistic electronic blowback operation along with a CNC machined aluminum upper and lower receiver. It comes with a hi-cap 300 round magazine and a Ver 2 Full Metal ICS Split Type Gearbox. The ICS CXP APE AEG Airsoft Rifle weighs in at just under 3kg.
Next I showcase the G&G SMC9 GBB Airsoft Carbine, a unique product that converts the G&G GTP9 pistol into a a semi and full auto Carbine and includes a 50 round extended magazine, there is an even higher capacity drum magazine made for this product! You will find a fold out stock along with a CNC Machined MLOK Rail for additional mounting options.
Last but perhaps one that I have been the most eagerly anticipating is the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback BB Rifle a twin CO2 Blowback 4.5mm Semi and Full auto AK style BB Rifle, finally a decent AK BB Rifle! The Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback BB Rifle has a claimed fps of 430 and shoots 1400 rounds per minute in full auto, very similar to the Crosman DPMS series of AR styled CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifles. The Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback BB Rifle comes with a 25 round magazine and swing out rear adjustable stock.
In this Field Test Shooting Video I shoot the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol in my indoor Sea Can Airgun Shooting Range to see what the real world velocity is and also how well it will group shooting 10 rounds at a paper target 30 feet down range. I was using .25 gram Airsoft BB’s for my testing along with Propane Gas. The temperature inside the sea can was around 26 degrees Celsius (79 degrees Fahrenheit).
Because the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol coms with both a shorter internal barrel and a screw on extended barrel designed to be hidden inside a mock suppressor I thought it would make sense to test both the short and long barrels to see what the fps difference would be. With the short internal barrel I shot 4 rounds and average 255 fps. I then added the longer barrel extension again shooting 4 rounds but this time I averaged 363 fps so a good 100+ fps faster with the longer barrel attachment added to the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol.
For my accuracy portion of the testing I left the extended barrel on the gun but was a bit disappointed in my 10 shot grouping. The Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol did not get the tightest of groupings coming in at around 5 inches. It also shot a little bit to the right but vertically was fairly well centered. Perhaps changing up the barrels and lengths might make a difference?
I did really like the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol, it has a really light trigger that is a bit hard to find the release point, the blowback action is crisp but not overly heavy. I’m pretty sure the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is a VFC product so the quality is bang on. Other than the grouping being a little bit spread out I really liked everything about the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol.
Type: GBB Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Cybergun Model:FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical. Materials: Metal and polymer construction. Weight: 1.8 Pound (820 grams). Barrel Length: 4.8 inch (12.2 cm). Total Length: 8.9 Inches (22.6 cm). Propulsion: Green gas or propane Action: Single and double action. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB’s. Ammunition Capacity: 25 round magazine. Max FPS: 380 fps.
Trigger Pull: The Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol has a single and double action trigger setup. Both feel pretty good with a surprisingly light double action trigger pull, the blowback action will cock the hammer between shots allowing for the vast majority of your shots being single action which you will find are short and very light. There is a little bit of take-up followed by a crisp light release.
Accuracy: So far I have not made my Field Test Shooting Video for the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol. Keep posted for my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video for the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Threaded Barrel GBB Airsoft Pistol, until then I can not really comment on the shooting results.
Build Quality: The build quality of the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol feels really good, it has a nice weight to it and feels really solid in the hand. The materials used look good and have an excellent finish to them. There is just a bit of a slide wiggle but not excessive. You will find metal parts where you would expect them to be like in the slide, barrel components, magazine, slide catch release, take-down leaver, hammer and lots of internal parts.
Realism: In terms of realism the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is pretty much the spitting image of the real steel version with all the markings and licensing in all the right places. Mechanically everything works about the same including full field strip-ability with full ambidextrous controls.
Pros:
Build quality feels really good.
Full length blowback action.
Accurate licensed TFN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical replica.
Trigger pull is nice in both single and double action.
Picatinny rail for adding accessories like a tac light or laser.
Double stack full size drop out metal magazine holds the gas and 25 Airsoft BB’s
Comes with additional back-strap in smaller size for smaller hands.
White dot high rise front and back sights suitable for compensators.
Fully ambidextrous controls.
Easily Filed Strippable.
Tip is easy to remove for addition of a mock compensator.
Adjustable Bax Hop-up
Cons:
Sights are not adjustable.
Just a little bit of slide wiggle.
Comments: The Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is a really great looking gun. The quality is on par with KWA and KJ Works in my opinion. I’m not sure who actually makes it as Cybergun is the license holder and distributer but I feel like the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is a step up from the standard KWC gun often used as the base. I look forward to testing out the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol in the Sea Can indoor Airgun Shooting range to see how it performs. I’ll be testing with the short barrel and with the barrel extension installed to see what the fps difference is between the two.
My Vimeo Table Top Review for the Cybergun FN Herstal FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol:
In this Table Top Preview video I take a look at two Blowback Airsoft Pistols one Distributed by Cybergun and the otters Distributed by ASG. Both are very similar in that they have threaded barrels which makes them much suppressor ready the big difference being that the ASG CZ P-09 is CO2 powered while the FN Herstal FNX-45 is Green Gas or Propane powered. IN this video I talk about the specifications and details and also show both Airsoft Pistols up nice and close.
Type: Pump Action Shotgun. Manufacturer: Jag Precision Model:Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun. Materials: Mostly aluminum metal construction. Weight: 4 Pounds (1.8 kg). Barrel Length: 11 inches Total Length: 31 inches. Propulsion: Green gas or propane Action: Pump action 3/6 rounds burst. Ammunition Type: 6mm Airsoft BB’s Ammunition Capacity: 28-30 rounds per shell. Max FPS: 350-400 fps.
Trigger Pull: Since the Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun Green Gas Airsoft Shotgun is a pump action shotgun you will need to work the pump action to load rounds into the barrel and cock the internal firing mechanism. The tigger is then engaged as a single action only trigger. The trigger pull is short and light. You can also hold the trigger down and pump the action for quick repetition shooting.
Comes pretty much fully loaded, nothing really to add on unless you want to customize it.
Tons of shots per gas fill with expected good fps.
Fully adjustable and removable pop-up iron sights.
AR compatible pistol grip and but stock.
Multiple mounting points for a sling.
Side saddle holds 6 rounds, 2 more just in case can be placed in the magazine tube.
3 or 6 round burst selectable.
The SPX2 comes in tan or black, lots of other options available.
Well priced for what you get compared to other gas Airsoft shotguns
Cons:
Does come with an orange tip but I am sure it can be removed.
Pump tube will show wear marks over time.
Will not be as accurate as an Airsoft rifle.
Comments: The Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun Green Gas Airsoft Shotgun is a really cool product. So far I have not come across a Green Gas Pump Action Airsoft Shotgun so this was a real treat for me. The build quality and the realism of the Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun Green Gas Airsoft Shotgun is what I really like. It feels like a real shotgun and even performs much like one. Having the ability to shoot either 3 or 6 round bursts is also nice. If you want more shots per shell load then you can use the 3 round option, likewise if you select 6 round burst for more ammo down range with each shot. I like that the Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun Green Gas Airsoft Shotgun comes pretty much all tricked out so you really don’t need to spend additional money on a bunch of accessories which adds a lot of value to this purchase.
My Table Top Review for the Jag Arms SPX2 Scattergun Green Gas Airsoft Shotgun:
This year at SHOT Show 2020 Mark from Umarex had a nice variety of new product to go over with us. Mark first went over the new CO2 Blowback Pellet firing Glock 17 which has a similar magazine and loading system as the Umarex SA10 Pellet Pistol.
We then took a look at another Glock replica, the Glock 18C Full Auto GBB Airsoft pistol with extended magazine, this one is sure to be a lot of fun with its selectable full auto feature and high capacity magazine. Perfect for hammering targets downrange or used as a very capable backup Airsoft pistol in the field.
Probably one of my favorites at the Umarex Booth this year was the Umarex Thompson M1A1 Legends Series CO2 Blowback Machine Gun. And yes it’s full auto capable along with blowback operation and a full size drop metal magazine that holds the CO2 and Steel BB’s. A nice addition to the Legends series of Pistols and Rifles.
Something really different this year for Umarex are the AirJavelin and AirSaber, two arrow firing rifles, the AirJavelin is CO2 powered and more tactical looking but still has more than enough power to shoot medium sized game, great for pest control while the bigger and (480 fps 178 foot pound) more powerful AirSaber is PCP powered and can be used for larger game like deer and wild bore. And it even looks like we will be selling these Arrow firing rifles in our Canada Replica Airguns Store with no PAL firearms license required!
This year Sig Sauer was showcasing their Airsoft Pistols with a new line called the Proforce series geared towards high end training. Sig has also included new Reflex Red Dot Sights that can be ordered already on the gun or as an add on accessory. The Proforce Pistol line includes both the M17 and M18 series Sig Sauer pistols.
Last year at SHOT Show 2019 Sig had introduced their Virtus .22 Caliber PCP Semi Auto Rifle but it was not ready at that time. Well now the Sig Sauer Virtus is ready to ship and yours truly will be getting one of these bad boys for review! Since the .22 caliber PCP Sig Sauer Virtus shoots around 700 fps with a 12 foot pound energy level you will need a PAL firearms license if you live in Canada but the Sig Sauer Virtus is a considered a “long gun” so no registration will be required in Canada.

We had a lot of great new Airguns that I reviewed this year at Replica Airguns. Some of them really stood out to me and so I made a video showing my Favorite Replica Airgun Picks of 2019. Of course there where many other Airguns that could has just as easily made this video but I had to draw the line somewhere and pick the ones that in my opinion where the best of 2019. Make sure to watch my Vimeo video where I go into some more details on why I liked each Airgun.
Below is a list of the top Replica Airgun Picks of 2019:
Type: GBB AIrsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Made by Tokyo Marui. Model:Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R. Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components. Weight: 1.85 pounds (839 grams). Barrel: 4.4 inches (112mm) metal non-rifled. Propulsion: Green gas. Action: Semi auto blowback, single action only trigger. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 31 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 365.
Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol is extremely nice, there is virtually zero take-up with a light and easy release. You can really hammer out quick shots with this Airsoft pistol. Other than the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911, one of the best 1911 triggers I have tested so far.
Build Quality: TheTokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol on the outside it is mostly all plastic (Slide and portion of the frame). That said the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group, magazine and many more internal parts.
Realism: The Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol is built on the Colt 45 1911 design but is obviously a more modernized and tacticle version of the classic 1911. The only factor that separates the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol from that of a traditional 1911 in design is the lack of a barrel bushing which kind of makes field stripping and access to the Airsoft guns intervals a little bit easier. You still get that 1911 feel and awesome Single Action Only Trigger with your thumb safety and slide catch release in all the familiar places. Of course the Grip safety works as you would expect on a 1911.
Pros:
Light and crips flat faced SAO trigger feels great.
Fit and finish is excellent, next to zero slide wiggle.
Very cool looking tactical modernized 1911.
Direct Optic Ready removable rear sight to accommodate for included red dot mounting plates.
Optional under-rail plate included.
Full size high capacity 31 round double stack metal magazine.
Ambidextrous thumb safeties.
Working grip safety as you would expect on a 1911 based gun.
Most mechanical parts work just like a real steel 1911 and can be easily field stripped to access the hop-up.
Super fast blowback action, great for quick action shooting.
Decent 1.85 pounds weight considering much of the Airsoft gun is plastic.
Cons:
Mostly all plastic build.
Does not have the barrel bushing found on traditional 1911’s.
No white dots on rear sight.
Comments:
So far I have reviewed three of the Tokyo Marui Airsoft pistols and all three have impressed me. Even with a mostly plastic build at least externally in the slide and frames, these Airsoft Pistols still feel and shoot great even if they are a little on the light side. That may be a plus for some people who want a nice light weight side arm that is not weighing them down on the field. The plastic slides really cycle fast and are super snappy, when combined with short and light tirggers you can pop off rounds amazingly fast and on target. For the price I really think any of the Tokyo Marui Airsoft Guns would be a great choice. I do however have a soft spot for 1911’s and so for me the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol would be my choice out of the three I have reviewed so far.
Type: GBB Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Made by Tokyo Marui. Model:FNX-45 Tactical. Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components. Weight: 1.8 pounds (830 grams). Barrel: 4.4 inches metal non-rifled. Propulsion: Green gas. Action: Semi auto blowback, singled double action trigger. Ammunition Type: 6mm plastic Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: 29 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 366.
Trigger Pull: The single action trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is light and smooth with just a bit of take-up and a crisp release. You can also shoot in double action, as expected the trigger pull in double action will be longer and heavier but it’s still pretty smooth and not at all heavy.
Build Quality: TheTokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol even though on the outside it’s all plastic (Slide and frame), the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group and many more internal parts.
Realism: The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is virtually an exact replica of a Real Steel FNX-45 Tactical, looking at photos online of the powder burning version it is nearly impossible to tell them apart. You will find FN licensing in all the right places but keep in mind Tokyo Marui does not actually hold an FN license so yours will come with black stickers over the FN markings. Easy enough to take off :) In terms of functionality the Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol operated pretty much exactly like the real steel version including the ability to field strip it for easy Hop-up adjustments.
Pros:
Ultra realistic Replica of the FNX-45 with authentic markings.
Removable slide cover allows mounting of red dot sight.
16mm CW threaded barrel is mock suppressor-ready.
Multiple grip backstraps for a custom fit to your hand size.
Overall quality, fit and finish is excellent.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Full size full metal magazine.
Ambidextrous safety, slide catch and magazine release.
Can easily put a mock suppressor on it.
Comes with additional internal barrel lengths for a mock suppressor or no meat tenderizer setup.
All mechanical parts work just like a steel FNX-45.
Super fast blowback action, great for action shooting.
Cons:
Mostly all plastic build.
Not actually licensed by Tokyo Marui.
Comments:
I am really liking the Tokyo Marui product line and welcome it to our Canada Replica Airguns Store. The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is one the nicest quality Airsoft guns I have reviewed so far, it really is a work of art. The only thing that would be nice is a metal slide but I can live without it since everything else about the gun is nearly perfect! The Tokyo Marui FNX-45 Tactical GBB Airsoft Pistol is really built for everyone, left hand or right handed, large or small hands, the full set of ambidextrous controls and interchangeable back-straps will take care of you.
Type: GBB Airsoft Pistol. Manufacturer: Made by Tokyo Marui. Model:Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911. Materials: Mostly polymer with metal components. Weight: 1.8 pounds (816 grams). Ammunition Capacity: 28 round drop out full size metal magazine. FPS: Claimed 366.
Trigger Pull: The single action only trigger pull on the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is extremely nice, there is virtually zero take-up with a light and easy release. You can really hammer out quick shots with this Airsoft pistol. One of the best 1911 triggers I have tested so far.
Build Quality: TheTokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol even though on the outside it’s all plastic (Slide and frame), the quality is fantastic, fit and finish is top notch everywhere and you will find metal parts where they need to be as in the inner and outer barrel, trigger, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group and many more internal parts.
Realism: The Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol is built on the Colt 45 1911 design but as you can see it comes in a compact version with a very tactical and aggressive look. You can tone it down a bit by removing the “Meat Tenderize” from the front basically turning it into a straight forward Tactical 1911 Compact version.
Pros:
Custom Detonics style slide and outer barrel.
Meat tenderizer-like Strike Face muzzle gives gun aggressive appearance.
20mm underside rail for laser or flashlight attachment.
Squared-off SAO trigger guard with short-stroke trigger pull.
Fit and finish is excellent.

Super fast blowback action, great for action shooting.
Cons:
Mostly all plastic build.
Can not field strip easily and get to the hop-up adjustment with the Meat tenderizer on it.
Comments:
This is my first real experience with a Tokyo Marui product and I have to say I am very impressed with their build quality and design. Even though the slide and frame are plastic, there is enough metal going on in this Airsoft pistol to give it decent enough weight and feel. I really like what Tokyo Marui did with the styling of the Tokyo Marui Strike Warrior .45 1911 GBB Airsoft Pistol with the Meat tenderizer-like Strike Face muzzle, squared-off trigger guard and overall tactical look and feel. A great addition to the Replica Airguns Canada Online Store!
I though I would feature the fact that we recently added some of the Tokyo Marui product line to our Canada Replica Airguns Store. Tokyo Marui is said to be one of the best Airsoft products on the market and they have been around for a while so they have had time to get it right! As Tokyo Marui is a Japanese based company they are restricted to only being able to use plastic frames and slides but even with this limitation the Tokyo Marui products that I have personally looked at are extremely well made.
