Crosman PRO77 Arrives for Review

The other airgun so graciously provided to me by Crosman Corporation was the Crosman PRO77 Blowback 4.5mm CO2 BB pistol. The PRO77 is a true blowback operated semi auto pistol, the slide cocks the exposed hammer with each shot taken and it has a very short trigger pull that does not need to be fully reset with each shot so it should be a really quick shooter!

The PRO77 reminds me an awful lot of my Walther CP99 Compact which sets the bar high, both have metal slide and polymer frames, both are about the same size with very similar specifications. I am looking forward to giving this a try and doing a full review on it. Like the Crosman C41 I just received from Crosman Corporation, you can also pick one up today in our Replica Airguns Store.

Specifications of the Crosman PRO77:

  • 4.5mm Steel BB's
  • 17 round magazine
  • 12 gram CO2
  • Single action only trigger
  • 4.1 inch steel barrel
  • 350 fps
  • 1.3 pounds
  • Fixed sights
  • Blowback operation
  • Metal slide and polymer frame

100th Video Contest Giveaway!

100 YouTube Videos! Can you believe it? About a year ago I started actively making videos for my YouTube Channel and here we are today with my 100th YouTube video.

And not only does this video mark my 100th video uploaded, but I also reached several other milestones pretty much at about the same time:

  • 2,000,000 Video Views
  • 50,000 Channel Views
  • 2500 Subscribers.

Before I get into the contest giveaway I just wanted to recap where this all began and where I am now...

About four years ago I uploaded my "Worlds Smallest Full Auto BB Gun" YouTube video just for fun and when I checked back a few months later it had what I thought was crazy amount of views (Something like 20,000 or so). Now it's getting close to 400,000 hits! skip ahead a few more years to just over a year ago and I got to thinking, why not upload a few more airgun videos since people seem to like them and I like making and talking about airguns.

After several videos I figured I might as well start a "website - blog" and place my YouTube videos on it along with some written reviews and articles, that's when ReplicaAirguns.com was born. Skip ahead to around February of this year and kind of by accident I started selling a few hard to get air guns and blank guns to kind of test the waters and I found that there was a definite market for them here in North America and that my viewers where also shoppers :)

Jump ahead to present day and and as you can see in my Replica Airguns Store, I have a nice selection of mostly replica Air and Blank Guns along with some accessories for my shopping viewers to choose from. And all of this is keeping me so busy that this is all I do now, make videos, work on my website and web-store and of course I spend a great deal of time answering questions from my YouTube viewers and Website visitors and customers.

OK, so let's get back to the contest! I am giving away a Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 4.5mm BB pistol to one of my lucky Subscribers, so how does one go about entering this contest - Giveaway for a chance to win?

  • You have to be a Subscriber of my YouTube Channel.
  • You need to Favorite my 100th Video Contest - Giveaway video and send me a comment in my 100th Video stating as much.
  • You need to tell a minimum of 3 of your friends about my YouTube Channel or the ReplicaAirguns.com website.
  • You need to be an adult or have your parent or guardian accept the giveaway gift on your behalf.
  • If you are not located in North America, you will be given a PayPal payment in the amount of the North America value of the Tanfoglio Witness 1911.
  • Contest deadline is July 31st at midnight!

And that's it! Here's to the next 100 YouTube videos...

Umarex Walther CP99 Compact Recon BB Pistol Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Manufacturer: Umarex.

Model: CP99 Compact Recon Version.

Materials: Metal slide, polymer frame.

Weight: 1.8 pounds.

Barrel: 5 inches, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, blowback, single action only.

Ammunition Type: Steel BBs 4.5mm.

Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.

FPS: Up to 400.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex CP99 Compact Recon is amazing, it is short and light making it one of the best action shooters I own. You can fire this gun accurately and fast all day long.

Accuracy: Great! The addition of the Green Dot Scope and slightly longer barrel on the CP99 Compact Recon version work amazingly well, this is one of the most consistent BB shooter I own getting under 2 inch groups at will from 20 feet out.

Build Quality: Excellent, this BB gun is made in Japan and uses metal where it is really needed like in the slide, slide release, safety, trigger, magazine release, magazine and most of the mechanical parts. It's well made, well finished and feels great in the hand.

Realism: This Replica BB gun has many of the same characteristics of the actual 9mm P99 Compact with the exception of having a longer handle and much different safety mechanism. Umarex has even changed the design a bit with the newer CP99 Compacts and made the ejection port cut out adding to the realism of this BB shooter.

Available at: the Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Decent reproduction of the original Walther P99 Compact 9mm.

  • Would make an excellent training gun as it has a similar size, weight, and feel to the actual Walther P99 Compact 9mm handgun.

  • Blowback action is very firm adding to the realism of shooting this weapon.

  • Really good FPS, accuracy and CO2 efficiency for a blowback BB air gun.

  • The Recon version has a longer barrel adding a few more FPS to this already great air pistol.

  • Amazing light and fast trigger pull making it a blast to shoot.

  • Addition of the Sight Rail, Compensator and Green Dot scope really add to the esthetics and performance of this BB pistol.

Cons:

  • The Sight Rail, Compensator and most of the Green Dot scope are plastic but this does not seem to effect the performance in any way.

  • Safety lever seems out of place and takes away from the realism of this replica.

  • Switch on the Green Dot Scope is silver making it stand out from the rest of the all black air gun.

Comments:

I already loved the CP99 Compact non-Recon version so I had very high expectations for this BB gun to be at least as good if not better and I was not disappointed! I was actual surprised at the improvements that the longer barrel and Green Dot Scope made not only in a much higher Feet Per Second rating (about 75 fps), but also the much improved accuracy in what was already a decent shooter. For the additional $40, you get the Sight Rail which allows you to add multiple accessories if required. You get the Green Dot Scope that noticeably improved the accuracy, and you also get the compensator which hides the extra long barrel for more FPS.

Rubber Grips and Rail added to the Tanfoglio Witness 1911

I can't help but share some of the photos my happy viewers and customers send me and it seem like the hot item right now is the Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 BB Pistol yet again.

These latest photos are brought to you by Mil3 who added rubber grips and an accessory rail to his Tanfoglio Witness 1911. He said the rubber grips only needed some slight carving out on the back side to make them fit.

Cybergun - KWC Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 BB Gun Field Strip

By popular demand I have made a Vimeo Video of my Cybergun - KWC Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 BB Gun being Field Stripped! This 1911 A1 Replica pistol is truly awesome and unbelievably realistic.

In this video you get to see the Tanfoglio Witness 1911 with the slide removed and some additional removal of the barrel components of this detailed air gun. As far as filed strip-ability, the Tanfoglio Witness is pretty easy to do but it never hurst to watch a video of it being done first.

Tanfoglio Witness 1911 with Wood Grips

I've had a few questions about replacing the gips on the Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 BB pistol and if it is possible to use standard 1911 wood grips? The answer is yes if you don't mind spending about 15-20 minutes removing just a bit of the wood material in a few spots on the 1911 Wood Grips

Here are the instruction thanks to one of my Customers and viewers Michel:

First of all the holes are in the right place thank god for that! A dremel is the ideal tool youll need, and the whole mod.

  1. Mark out the material you want to remove.
  2. Remove the material on bottom part of each grip with a dremel using a cicular sandpaper bit.
  3. Repeat on other grip .On the top of the grip on the mag release side you might have to remove material to clear pin.

After on the other side of the mag release button make sure there is enough clearance for when you depress the button.

Here are a few pictures of the mod. Have fun:

Cybergun Sig Sauer X-Five P226 Sight Rail CO2 BB Pistol

An extremely popular BB Air pistol with many of my YouTube viewers and Replica Airgun Store purchasers has been the Cybergun Sig Sauer X-Five P226. The interesting thing about this very realistic Blowback BB shooter is that it comes in two versions, the Standard version and the fully loaded Sight Rail version that includes a Sight Rail, Compensator and a fully adjustable Rear Sight. If all you got for the extra $10 was the fully adjustable rear sight it would be worth it alone, but you also get the Metal Compensator and Metal Sight Rail for mounting a targeting scope.

I recently added the Sight Rail version of this very fine Cybergun Sig Sauer P226 Replica and plan to at least do a condensed review on it to show off some of its extra bits and pieces.

And again, I have some photos for you so you can get a nice close look at this amazingly realistic BB Replica.

Umarex Walther CP99 Compact Recon CO2 BB Pistol

I've written a few posts on the Umarex Walther CP99 Compact. It was even featured in my very first YouTube video with my Umarex Walther PPK Full Auto BB Pistol. I do sell the CP99 Compact in my web-store but not the regular version, rather the Recon version. With the Recon version you get a few extras: The Sight Rail, a Red Dot Scope and a Compensator extension which I feel is better value over the standard version.

One thing that I noticed about the Compensator extension is that it's not just an add on simply for looks, this Recon version of the CP99 Compact has a longer barrel inside the compensator which should give the Recon version of the CP99 Compact a bit higher FPS. I will test this theory down the road with my Chrony Chronograph.

Enjoy the picture for now...

Type: BB air pistol.

Model:Tanfoglio Witness 1911.

Materials: 99% all metal build.

Weight: 2 pounds.

Barrel: 4.38 inchesBrass, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x1.

Action: Semi auto blowback, single action.

Ammunition Type: Steel BB's 4.5mm.

Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.

FPS: 320.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull is what you would expect from a real 1911 automatic pistol, with single action. It is very light and short.

Accuracy: Surprisingly good! I got just under a two inch grouping from 20 feet away shooting 8 shots on a target in a free standing position, and I was only using one hand this time!

Build Quality: Excellent, with almost all metal construction, good weight and craftsmanship.

Realism: This is as close as you can come to the look, weight, feel, and action of the real 1911 in virtually every way! I'm not sure what more you could ask for? If you do want more then you are going to have to go out and pick your self up up a real 45 auto 1911!

Purchased From: -The Replica Airguns Canada Store
-The Replica Airguns US Store

Pros:

  • Extremely realistic airgun replica of an original Colt 1911 A1 styled 45 auto.

  • All metal construction - Good weight and solid feeling gun.

  • Would make an excellent training gun as it functions just like the real steel 1911 45 handgun.

  • Blowback action is very firm adding to the realism of shooting this weapon.

  • Field strips just like the real 1911 45 auto.

  • True 1911 Single action trigger, excellent pull, very smooth and light.

  • Good accuracy, not too bad amount off shots for this style of gun about 3 good magazines

  • Working grip safety.

Cons:

  • It goes through CO2 very fast.

  • A bit hard to load up BB's.

  • No adjustable sights.

  • Finish may be hard to color match because it's not really black but rather a brownish black.

Comments:

I was very impressed with this Cybergun product, it looks great, function just like the real steel in practically every way possible for an airgun replica. I got decent accuracy and very close to the claimed factory FPS and even a full 3 magazines worth of shots from one CO2, which is pretty good for a blowback airgun with this kind of kick to it. If you like the Classic Colt 1911 A1 style of pistol and if you are into airguns or are looking for a gun you can use when getting to the range is just not an option? Then the Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 is exactly what you need.

Crosman - Kimar CK92 CO2 Beretta Style Pellet Pistol

We have another very interesting Pre-sale item out of Italy again, but this time from Kimar. A while back in 2000-2001, Kimar and Crosman teamed up to make a really nice Beretta 92FS Styled Replica Airgun called the CK92. It basically used a bunch of Crosman internal parts but the bulk of the gun was manufactured in the Kimar (Armi Chiappa) factory.

This gun was not produced after 2001 and so has only been available as a used gun to airgun collectors, that is until now. Somehow a limited amount of these guns where rediscovered (perhaps a time machine was involved?) and we have gotten our hands on some arriving in mid July. Since these CK92's have been sitting around for a while they have all been re-tested and inspected and are ready for sale.

This is an amazing opportunity for any Airgun collector looking to get a brand new Crosman - Kimar CK92. And we even have a few arriving with the Chrome finish - even more rare!

But don't let me stop you if you're not an avid airgun collector, we are pricing these all metal pellet shooting Beretta 92FS replicas to sell fast at our pre-sale pricing of only $119 and $129 respectively. Keep in mind this price will go up $20 once they arrive in our warehouse, if we have any left that is...

Here are some specifications to keep you drooling till they come in:

  • .177 cal. Pellets
  • 8 Round magazine
  • CO2 Powered
  • 394 fps
  • 2.6 Pounds
  • 8.4 Inches long
  • Single and double action
  • Fully adjustable rear sight
  • All metal design
  • Made in Italy
  • Beretta 92FS Replica
  • Available in Black and Chrome
  • A real collectors item!

Umarex MP5K PDW CO2 BB Gun Chronograph - Shooting & Slow-mo

The Umarex MP5K PDW is another gun I reviewed a while back that I though could use a bit of an update video with some of the new gadgets I have to added to my videos these days... This time my Umarex MP5K PDW gets the office Replica Airguns Chronograph test, I take it through an accuracy test shooting 8 rounds at a target from 20 feet out in a free standing position. And to end things off and since the Umarex MP5K PDW has a blowback bolt or at least what appears to be a blowback bolt, I also take some slow motion high speed video of the blowback in action.

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

I also got to play around with my DRIFT HD170 Point of View Action Camera and use it to take some really cool first person style video of teh Umarex MP5 in action. Overall I was impressed with the H&K MP5K BB gun overall, it shot very accurately when shooting slow and in rapid fire and it also got right up to the 400 FPS factory claim.

Enjoy my Vimeo Video of the Umarex MP5K PDW CO2 BB Gun getting Chronographed, Shooting on a Target and captured in Slow Motion...

Umarex Steel Storm CO2 BB Machine Gun Chronograph & Shooting Test

I've already made a couple of video reviews on the Steel Storm, one Table Top Review and one Field Test. These where done a while back when I first started things off and since then I've added a lot more gadgets and information to my reviews, so I wanted to revisit the Steel Storm and do a Chronograph test and Target shooting test for the Umarex Steel Storm Machine gun.

<!-- google_ad_client = "ca-pub-9036472715040282"; /* Replica Airguns Content */ google_ad_slot = "1487049688"; google_ad_width = 468; google_ad_height = 15; //-->

I was not surprised to see the Steel Storm perform very well in my testing, this is a wonderfully fun and inexpensive BB machine gun with decent power, accuracy, blow back action and full auto burst ability. What more do you need?

Make sure to watch this one, I even added some more interesting camera angles with my new DRIFT HD170 Action Camera.

Enjoy my Vimeo Video of the Umarex Steel Storm CO2 BB Machine Gun getting Chronographed and taking on a target...

Tanfoglio Witness 1911 Update Photos

One of my customers "Pierre" who lives close to our warehouse already received his Tanfoglio Witness 1911, and he kindly took some photos and sent me some quick observations.

As you can see here, the magazine is a full size drop out magazine that holds the CO2 and 4.5mm Steel BB's.

Pierre described the color as being a "Dark Fume Grey" and he also mentioned that the Grip safety (sometimes referred to as the Back-strap safety) is also functional.

You can see in this photo that the slide can lock fully back on the Tanfoglio Witness 1911.

You can see in this photo, the cut out slide and KWC markings. Many Cybergun products are rebrands of the KWC line.

Well if you haven't picked yourself up one yet and your a 1911 fan, (who isn't?) don't miss out on this one!

Umarex Walther PPK/S CO2 BB Gun Chronograph - Shooting & Slow-mo

Another filed test video in the series. This one is of the Umarex Walther PPK/S CO2 4.5mm BB pistol, I show you both my regular unmodified all black PPK/S and shoot it through my Chrony Chronograph with an averaged reading of 282 FPS, not bad considering the manufacturers claim is 295.

I also shoot 8 rounds with my stock Umarex PPK/S at a target to see what kind of accuracy I get, and just for fun I shoot a 15 round magazine into the same target with my modified fully-auto sliver slided PPK/S.

To finish things up, I slowdown the action just a bit using my high speed Casio camera to capture the blowback action of both my stock and modified Umarex Walther PPK's.

Enjoy my YouTube Video of my Umarex Walther PPK/S CO2 BB pistols getting Chronographed, shooting at a target and slowed down a bit with my High Speed Camera.

The Social Side of Replica Airguns: YouTube - Facebook - Twitter

I have obviously been exploring the YouTube side of the whole social networking thing and if anything, my YouTube Channel really started things off for me. I had one Full Auto PPK Video I made a several years ago and it slowly accumulated a ton of views so I thought, why not make some more videos and see how they do... jump ahead a little less then a year later and here we are!

I guess you could say that YouTube is what drives Replica Airguns, without it I don't think there would be a Replica Airguns Website? Guns & Videos are an obvious fit and so it all makes sense to me but what about Facebook and Twitter? I have been putting them off for a while as I just didn't feel I needed the distraction but I have recently caved into the social pressures and started up Facebook and Twitter accounts. So please "like" me "Follow" me, and "Subscribe" me, if you don't I will be a social outcast...

Umarex SA177 CO2 BB Chronograph Shooting & Slow-mo

Another popular CO2 Blowback BB pistol is the Umarex SA177. It looks very much like a Glock but without the Glock licensing. I also reviewed this Umarex product a while back before I had my Chrony Chronograph and so as with many of my guns I put this well priced CO2 BB replica to the Chrony test to find out its real world feet per second rating.

The Umarex SA177 had a claimed FPS of 400 and when I shot an 8 shot test through my Chrony Chronograph I got a 392 FPS average reading! Very close to the manufacturers stated FPS, and my testing was not on the warmest of days so this CO2 air gun may even do better on a warm summer day.

I also took another 8 shots on a target from 20 feet back in a free standing position to see what kind of results I would get with the Umarex SA177 and it did surprisingly well, the first 7 shots got a nice tight 1.5 inch group but the last shot got away on me just a bit.

Near the end of the YouTube video I bring out my Casio High Speed camera and shot my Umarex SA177 in action at 210 frames per second, you can really see the blowback of the slide and realistic recoil effect a blowback gun offers.

Enjoy my Vimeo Video of the Umarex SA177 CO2 BB gun getting Chronographed, shooting at a target and slowed down a bit with my High Speed Camera.

Umarex HPP CO2 BB Chronograph Shooting & Slow-mo

I reviewed this nice little compact Blowback CO2 BB pistol a while back , but I didn't have my Chrony Chronograph or my Casio High Speed Camera, so with all this new technology I thought it was time to revisit my Umarex HPP and see what it could do.

I shot 8 rounds through the Chrony and got an average of 385 FPS which is not too far off the manufacturers claimed 410 FPS. Keep in mind the weather could be a lot warmer!

I also put 8 more rounds into a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position and got a bit of a scattered grouping but I think it was partially my fault because I was a bit surprised at how smooth and light the trigger was. I didn't remember it being so nice and I just wanted to keep pulling it with not too much aiming going on :)

Lastly I shot 10 rounds while capturing the blowback action with my high speed video camera at 210 frames per second, so you can really see the heavy blowback of this snappy airgun.

Enjoy my YouTube Video of the Umarex HPP CO2 BB gun getting Chronographed, shooting at a target and slowed down a bit with my High Speed Camera.
