Chiappa New Rhino Airgun at Show 2020 Las Vegas

chiappa-firearms-vector-logo.png

This isn’t a SHOT Show 2020 Interview but most certainly worth reporting on. While walking around SHOT Show I ventured into the Chiappa Booth as I own a .22 caliber 1911 styled pistol from them and they do have some interesting products to take a look at.

Then I saw a red tip on one of their Chiappa Rhino Revolvers which caught my eye since I was not aware that Chiappa was making an Airgun version of their Rhino. Well as it turns out they are hoping to be shipping both an Airsoft version and Steel BB version around spring time and from what I can tell there will be two finishes, a kind of Gold Satin finish and also a Back finish version. As is with a lot of revolvers these days they will be shell loading which will help them look the part of a real steel Chiappa Rhino Revolver.

Looking forward to getting my hands on one when they come out in Spring this year!

Air Venturi SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview

air-venturi.png

In this SHOT Show Las Vegas 2020 Interview Video Scott takes us through a range of new products from Air Venturi.

Scott and I talk about the Air Venturi TR5 and how it came about to fill the hole the Baikal MP-61 left behind. We also talk a look at some new Air Rifles, a pumper called the Butterfly with a super cool linkage based system that makes pumping a lot easier. A PCP side lever cocking Air Rifle that I’m not even sure has a name yet but will be available in .177 .22 and .25 caliber pellet for around $299 US.

The only Air Venturi replica we looked at is a new Springfield Armory under lever Spring Piston Air rifle modeled after the M1A. Last up Scott went showed us how the Bada Bang targeting system is shaping up and looks to be almost ready for production.

Umarex SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview

This year at SHOT Show 2020 Mark from Umarex had a nice variety of new product to go over with us. Mark first went over the new CO2 Blowback Pellet firing Glock 17 which has a similar magazine and loading system as the Umarex SA10 Pellet Pistol.

We then took a look at another Glock replica, the Glock 18C Full Auto GBB Airsoft pistol with extended magazine, this one is sure to be a lot of fun with its selectable full auto feature and high capacity magazine. Perfect for hammering targets downrange or used as a very capable backup Airsoft pistol in the field.

Probably one of my favorites at the Umarex Booth this year was the Umarex Thompson M1A1 Legends Series CO2 Blowback Machine Gun. And yes it’s full auto capable along with blowback operation and a full size drop metal magazine that holds the CO2 and Steel BB’s. A nice addition to the Legends series of Pistols and Rifles.

Something really different this year for Umarex are the AirJavelin and AirSaber, two arrow firing rifles, the AirJavelin is CO2 powered and more tactical looking but still has more than enough power to shoot medium sized game, great for pest control while the bigger and (480 fps 178 foot pound) more powerful AirSaber is PCP powered and can be used for larger game like deer and wild bore. And it even looks like we will be selling these Arrow firing rifles in our Canada Replica Airguns Store with no PAL firearms license required!

Velocity Outdoor SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview

As always Crosman delivered again this year with some new Airgun products to show us. In this Velocity Outdoors SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview we take a look at three main standouts for me. The Crosman Full Auto R1 AR CO2 BB Rifle, the Crosman Full Auto P1 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol and something a lot different, the Havoc Prime Spring Powered Foam Dart Blaster.

The Crosman Full Auto R1 AR CO2 BB Rifle is a hybrid of the DPMS SBR and the PDW form past years with a focus on bringing the Crosman name to their own more true to form AR style rifle. You still get interchangeable but stocks and pistol grips if you want to swap them out for a different AR type. The Crosman Full Auto R1 AR CO2 BB Rifle has a longer accessory rail with a more traditional muzzle break. The R1 also comes standard with a red dot sight.

Velocity Outdoors also introduced the Crosman Full Auto P1 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol with select fire semi and full auto modes. The Crosman Full Auto P1 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is essentially a KWC Taurus with the addition of a really nice laser sight.

One little treat that I think will be popular as a fun indroor shooter is the Havoc Prime Spring Powered Foam Dart Blaster. Unlike traditional Nerf guns the Havoc Prime Spring Powered Foam Dart Blaster actually shoots upwards to 130 feet per second and is super accurate with its rifled barrel. The ammo even looks like a 9mm round but not so deadly :) A Big thanks to Phillip from Velocity Outdoor for allowing us they interview him again this year!

Sig Sauer SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview

This year Sig Sauer was showcasing their Airsoft Pistols with a new line called the Proforce series geared towards high end training. Sig has also included new Reflex Red Dot Sights that can be ordered already on the gun or as an add on accessory. The Proforce Pistol line includes both the M17 and M18 series Sig Sauer pistols.

Last year at SHOT Show 2019 Sig had introduced their Virtus .22 Caliber PCP Semi Auto Rifle but it was not ready at that time. Well now the Sig Sauer Virtus is ready to ship and yours truly will be getting one of these bad boys for review! Since the .22 caliber PCP Sig Sauer Virtus shoots around 700 fps with a 12 foot pound energy level you will need a PAL firearms license if you live in Canada but the Sig Sauer Virtus is a considered a “long gun” so no registration will be required in Canada.

Watch my Sig Sauer SHOT Show 2020 Las Vegas Interview for more info and cool stuff presented by Stephanie from Sig Sauer.

KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: BB air pistol.
Manufacturer: KWC.
Model: KWC M40 NBB.
Materials: Mostly plastic with some metal.
Weight: 1.14 pounds (515 grams).
Barrel: 3.5 inches, metal smooth bore.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto, double action only.
Ammunition Type: Steel BB's 4.5mm.
Ammunition Capacity: 19 rounds.
FPS: 387 fps/ 118 m/s.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol is a bit in the heavy side in terms of a typical Double Action Only BB shooter, The pull is consistent and predictable but this will not be the fastest action shooter out there and the heavy trigger may tire your finger when shooting quickly. Accuracy may also be compromised a bit since the trigger will effect a smooth pull.

Accuracy: So far I have not performed my Field Test Shooting Video for the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol so I have no real idea on how accurate it will be? I figure the just under 400 fps claimed velocity should be realistic since it is a non-blowback airgun. We will find out later on when I am able to test out the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol in the replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Shooting Range.

Build Quality: The KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol is for the most part an all plastic build other than the full metal magazine and some internal parts like the inner barrel and a few others. With the all metal magazine in the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol it feels pretty good in terms of weight but as soon as you take the hefty metal magazine out it feels virtually weightless. That said you will not be shooting the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol without the magazine in it. Fit and finish look and feel pretty good.

Realism: The KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol in terms of size and looks is a very good replace of a real steel S&W M&P40 without the licensing of course. Again the weight is a lit bit on the shy side and since the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol is non-blowback it is lacking many of the working parts like a slide that slide, a functioning takedown lever or slide catch release. The full size drop out metal magazine and recessed barrel do help make the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol more believable and I also like that KWC worked the safety into the right hadn't slide catch release to keep it well hidden.

Pros:

  • Fairly accurate visually of the S&W M&P40.

  • Nice discreet safety location built into the slide catch release.

  • Barrel is recessed.

  • Full size dropout metal magazine that holds BB's and CO2.

  • White dot sights front and back.

  • Rail for add on accessories.

  • Even though mostly plastic, with the metal magazine in it feels reasonably heavy.

  • No ugly warning instructions.

  • Comes with a speed loader and BB’s to get you started.

Cons:

  • No Blowback action or working slide.

  • Somewhat heavy DAO Trigger.

  • Mostly plastic build so a bit on the light side compared to the metal slide versions.

Comments:

If you’re looking for a lower cost BB shooting Replica of the S&W M&P40 and don’t need blowback action, perhaps your more interested in a little bit more power and shots per CO2, well then the KWC M40 CO2 NBB BB Pistol may juts check all the boxes for you. The good news is we have a lot of options now if you’re in the market for a S&W M&P40 Replica Airgun. You can get the lower cost NBB version I am revising here, perhaps you want to spend a little bit more and get the KWC Metal Slide Blowback version which also comes in an Airsoft equivalent? And if yo want all the markings then get the Umarex distributed version complete with S&W licensing.

Umarex Legends Cowboy Rifle Versus Daisy Red Ryder BB Rifle Shooting Comparison

I have not officially done a Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle other than my quick outside shooting test where I simply shot a bunch of rounds at some pop cans just to see how the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle would work for me and it did perform well during that test.

Jumping ahead to a little while later when I went to make my Official Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle. I found it was not performing well at all, shooting well under the 410 claimed fps closer to 200 fps which was a surprise since it seemed to do a lot better for me on my previous test. I even changed out the CO2 but still did not get any better results. I racked this up to maybe being a defective gun and so I went about getting my hands on another Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle.

Guess what? Same thing with rifle number two. Very poor fps, again almost half of the claimed rated velocity. So at this point I decided I was goring to make the Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle and let the results speak for themselves… I also thought it would be fun to compare it to the Classic 1938 Daisy Red Ryder BB Gun since I figured they would both get similar fps and accuracy and be rather comparable at the end of the day.

I do have to say that the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle did make me eat my words and I am happy it did since I really like the Umarex Legends CO2 BB Lever Action Cowboy Rifle and wanted it to do well!

Usually I state all there results for My Field Test Shooting Videos here in the written article but I kind of feel it is best if you just watch this one from start to finishes since the video result s did turn out to really surprise me in the end.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Field Test Review

Make sure to watch my Table Top Review Video if you want more info on the details and specifications for the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol! in this Field Test Shooting video I test out the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol inside the Replica Airguns indoor Sea Can Airgun Range to see how well it performs in terms of Velocity and Accuracy. The temperature was 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) so not too hot or too cold on this test day. I was also using a brand new CO2 along with 5.1 grain RWS zinc coated steel BB’s.

For the first test to find out what the actual velocity is for the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol, I placed 5 rounds through my Chronograph back to back and I was able to get an average of 456 fps with the fastest shoot hitting 460 fps and the slowest shot in the string hitting 451 fps. All within 9 fps of each other so very consistent.

Next I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to do my best to obtain a 10 shot grouping using a seated and rested shooting position. Most of the shots form the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol where all under 1.5 inches apart, just a little bit high and slightly to the left. I did get a flyer that went a little bit lower than the rest lengthening out the 10 shot grouping to about 2 inches in diameter. I am pretty sure I would be able to get a 1 inch grouping with the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol after some practice.

Overall the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol performed well for me shooting consistently without any issues. The Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol is fairly basic in design but does have the added much suppressor that allows for a longer inner barrel giving it a little more fps. You also have the removable sight rail fi you want to add some optical sights or perhaps a laser or tactical light or maybe all of them? Pickup the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol in a variety of colors over at the Replica Airguns Online Canada and US Stores!

Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit Field Test Review

Make sure to watch my Table Top Review Video if you want more info on the details and specifications for the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit! in this Field Test Shooting video I test out the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit inside the Replica Airguns indoor Sea Can Airgun Range to see how well it performs in terms of Velocity and accuracy. The temperature was 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit) so not too hot or too cold on this test day. I was also using a brand new CO2 along with 5.1 grain RWS zinc coated steel BB’s.

For the first test to find out what the actual velocity is for the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit I placed 5 rounds through my Chronograph back to back and I was able to get an average of 396 fps with the fastest shoot hitting 404 fps and the slowest shot in the string hitting 389 fps. Interestingly enough the fastest shot was the last shot in my 5 shot string so CO2 cooling did not effect the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit too much.

Next I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet down range and proceeded to do my best to obtain a 10 shot grouping using a seated and rested shooting position. I may have only loaded 9 rounds this time but I was still able to get a good idea on how well the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit performs in the accuracy department. Most of the shots where all under 2 inches and well center on the target with at least 3 or 4 rounds in the bullseye. I did get a flyer that went rather high but we will assume there may have been a bad BB in the bunch shine I did not feel I pulled that shot at all and since the other rods all placed well together well will go with the smaller grouping of under 2 inches.

Overall the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit performed well for me shooting consistently without any issues. The Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit is a very basic airgun with your standard double action trigger that will be on the longer side, that said it felt pretty good and was not overly heavy with a fairly predictable pull and release making it easy enough to find your target. Action shooting will be OK too since the trigger is not super heavy for a double action only trigger. Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol Airgun Kit Table Top Review

Type: Non-blowback CO2 BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Crosman.
Model: P10 Wildcat / Phantom.
Materials: Plastic & metal.
Weight: 1.1 pounds (500 grams).
Barrel: Smooth bore barrel.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 20 round drop out plastic magazine.
FPS: Claimed 480.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol is typical of a Double Action Only Trigger and so you will expect it to be a longer medium to heavy pull. I’d say it’s more of a medium pull, it’s not going to be the fastest action shooter because of this but it will get the job done emptying the 20 round stick magazine quick enough. Like many of these lower cost basic CO2 BB pistols the barrel acts like the hammer in that it does protrude out of the barrel opening when you pull the trigger and snap back upon release.

Accuracy & Power: At this point I have not shot the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol so I can only quote what Crosman claims on their packaging in terms of velocity which is a peppy 480fps. We will have to see if this figure is close to the mark when I get to the Field Test Shooting Review for the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol, along with test results for accuracy at 30 feet downrange.

Build Quality: The Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol is mostly all plastic with some metal internal parts where they need to be for strength and durability issues. The Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol is basically two plastic halves put together with screws on the right side. This may not be the prettiest way to build a CO2 Airgun but it does work and keeps things simple, simple means there are a lot less things to go wrong which means you will have an airgun that is reliable for a long time.

Realism: The Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol is not a replica of any specific real steel pistol in production but in my opinion it kind of looks like a hybrid of a Beretta and Sig merged together. Obviously the Blue and Pink versions are made to show they are not real steel guns but you can get the P10 in the all black Phantom version which will look more like a real gun. There are few moving parts on the Crosman P10 line of Airguns, just the trigger, safety and magazine release. All other parts are moulded into the plastic with no working slide or even hammer. The CO2 tab is well hidden by the grips but the barrel is not reassessed at all.

Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Blue and pink color scheme may ease some parents when buying a first BB gun.

  • High FPS rating.

  • Non-blowback will get more shots per CO2.

  • Comes with a generic nylon holster you can use with other airguns too .

  • CO2 tab is nicely hidden inside the grip.

  • Double action trigger pull is long but not too firm.

  • Should work with other similar styled magazines commonly found on lower cost BB pistols.

  • Assembled in the US.

Cons:

  • All plastic gun for the most part with just a few internal metal parts.

  • Not many working parts pretty much all moulded gun.

  • Grips fairly loose, don't really snap into place, could fall off easily.

Comments:

I’m not really a big fan of all plastic non-blowback airguns as I have made aware in many of my other videos. That said there is a place for Airguns like the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol for those looking to buy an Airgun not so much as a close replace but simply just to shoot at targets and have fun with. The Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol will do just that very dependably while offering lots of shots per CO2 with a high fps, it should also get reasonable accuracy while doing so. Being able to get it in a variety of colors means you can personalize the Crosman P10 Wildcat CO2 BB Pistol a bit more and the blue and pink versions may be the deciding factor for some parents sitting not the fence on whether or not to allow their young adult or teenager to buy their first CO2 BB Pistol.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Table Top Review

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Left Side.jpg

Type: Non-blowback CO2 BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Daisy.
Model: Powerline 5170.
Materials: Metal & plastic.
Weight: 1.8 pounds.
Barrel: Smooth bore goes entire length of much compensator.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto non-blowback, double action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 21 round drop out plastic magazine.
FPS: Claimed 520.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Right Side.jpg

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol is that of a Double Action only Trigger and so you will expect it to be on the long side. That said it is smooth all the way through the pull and no overly heavy. It also has a rather satisfying feeling that I can only explain as a feeling that you are working well put together internal metal parts.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Compensator Close.jpg

Accuracy & Power: At this point I have not shot the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol so I can only quote what Daisy is saying in terms of velocity which is rather optimistic 520fps. This sounds high but we will have to see when I get to the Field Test Shooting Review for the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol.

Build Quality: The Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol seems to be decently made for a mostly plastic airgun. Like I said the metal trigger feels solid and it also has a metal safety which is nice, other than that all other external parts are plastic but it does feel like there are a lot of metal internal parts based on the weight. I would have liked to see more metal in the magazine as it does feel to be the cheapest part of the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Back Close.jpg

Realism: The Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol is basically a replica of a 1911 in most ways. It does have a shorter slide than a standard 1911 but the compensator adds a lot of length back to the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol. The working safety is out of place for a 1911 since it is located where the slide catch would be and does not even look like a 1911 slide catch. The location where the real 1911 safety would be has a moulded in non-working safety. Not to be overly picky but the trigger on a 1911 is also totally different since it would be a very short single action only trigger. The only working parts on the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol are the trigger, safety and magazine release.

Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Grip Close.jpg

Pros:

  • Fairly low cost with what looks to be decent fps and hopefully good accuracy.

  • Has an added compensator that extends the barrel internally.

  • Double action trigger is very smooth and satisfying feel to it.

  • Comes with sight rail for addition of top, bottom and side Weaver accessories.

  • Safety actually looks like part of the gun even though not a 1911 style lever.

  • CO2 tab is well hidden by magazine but plate.

  • Weight and feel of gun are pretty good considering so much plastic.

  • Pretty decent replica of a Colt 1911.

  • Made in Japan.

Cons:

  • Will need an optical sight of some sort or will have to take off sight rail to use built in sights.

  • Drop out magazine is all plastic.

  • Not many working parts.

Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol Mag CLose.jpg

Comments:

I’m not really a big fan of all plastic non-blowback airguns but I am willing to give the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol a chance since it does have some things going for it like high fps which I know is important to many of you. The Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol also has a really nice double action trigger which should make shooting it easy and fun. The sight rail also gives the Daisy Powerline 5170 CO2 BB Pistol a lot of versatility when it comes to making the Daisy Powerline 5170 your own by adding on pretty much any accessory you can imagine.

Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver Field Test Review

Another Field Test Shooting Video Review coming for the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Airgun Shooting Range! In todays Shooting Review I test out the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver using both 4.5mm 5/1 grain Steel BB’s and .177 Caliber 6.9 grain Lead Pellets to see how well they perform in velocity and accuracy. As always I use a brand new CO2 for my velocity testing and for reference the temperature during my testing in the Sea Can was 23 degrees Celsius or 73 degrees Fahrenheit. For my accuracy portion of the shooting test I use a rested and seated shooting position shot 30 feet away from my fresh paper targets.

Starting off with the velocity or power potion of my Field Test Shooting Video for the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver. I first used the 4.5mm Steel BB shells and shot 3 rounds through my Chronograph averaging 369 fps. I then loaded up the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver with pellet shells and again placed three .177 caliber lead pellets through my Chrony and got a very similar result with an average of 361 fps. Keep in mind the lead pellets where 6.9 grain versus the steel BB’s at only 5.1 grain, so the lead pellets will be carrying more raw energy at the point of impact even though they where going just a tad bit slower than the steel BB’s.

In terms of accuracy both rounds performed about the same shooting at my paper target 30 feet away. Since the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver has a 6 round cylinder I shot 6 sounds for each test, 6 steel BB’s and then 6 lead pellets. I also changed the targets for each type of ammo between reloading. I found the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver shot fairly close to the bullseye, l but with both the Steel BB’s and lead pellets I got one outlier that spread out my groupings significantly, the other 5 rounds where all close being about 2 inches apart? Perhaps it was a bad or misshaped round, or maybe even me ;) I did notice the lead pellets seemed to have a really nice 4 round group out of the 6 that all fell within the bullseye. Hard to really say if BB’s or pellets performed better than the other one at least in my testing.

Overall the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver shot well for me, the trigger is nice and short and light making placing your shots easy, of course since it is a single action only trigger you kind of need to reset yourself between every shot which can effect groupings just a bit. Since the barrel is not rifled with no danger of damaging the rifling, you can really shoot what ever ammo type you feel like shooting or have on hand and since Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolvers get about the same speed and accuracy then it really doesn’t matter that much at the end of the day!

Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver Table Top Review

Type: BB/Pellet air revolver.
Manufacturer/Distributor: Bear River.
Model: Schofield No. 3
Materials: Mostly metal with plastic grips.
Weight: 2.4 pounds. (1089 grams)
Barrel: 7 inch (178mm) smooth bore barrel.
Propulsion: 12 gram CO2.
Action: Revolver, single action only.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's and .177 Cal. Pellets.
Ammunition Capacity: 6 rounds.
FPS: 445fps.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the single action only Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver is what you would expect from a pistol of this design. Like the Colt Single Action Army the trigger pull is very short, light and crips, perfect for taking your time and getting a precise shot on target. You will of course have to cock the hammer manually before each shot ao no real action shooting.

Accuracy: I have not tested the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Airgun Range but plan to get to it shortly. I will test out both 4.5mm Steel BB’s and some .177 caliber lead Pellets and see how the different ammo types effect both power and accuracy. Keep in mind the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver has a smooth bore barrel but I am pretty sure pellets will still perform well at 30 feet away.

Build Quality: The Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver is built a lot like the Webley MK VI .455 CO2 Shell Loading Revolver line, perhaps even made in the same factory in Taiwan? The Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver is pretty much an all metal construction other than the plastic grips and any internal seals. The fit and finish is excellent with a great overall weight in the hand. The pistol grips is a lot like what you have with the Colt Single Action Army pistol but the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver is a lot more front end heavy because of its beefy barrel.

Realism: In terms of replicating a real steel Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver for sure looks and feels that part. The reassessed barrel and well hidden CO2 screw don’t give anything away that the Airgun version is not the real deal. But as with all of these shell loading Airgun Revolvers, the shells are actually closer to a .380 Caliber in diameter rather than a 45 which is what the real steel Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver would be designed for.

Available in the: Replica Airguns Store

Pros:

  • If you are like a bulky revolver with good weight to it then the Bear River Schofield No. 3 is it.

  • Can shoot Steel BB’s or Pellets since it comers with both shell types.

  • Recessed barrel.

  • Well concealed CO2.

  • Shell loading design that loads from the back so no need to remove shells if you wish not to.

  • Single Action Only hammer and trigger action feel good, nice and light with short take-up and release.

  • Fairly discreet safety location right behind the hammer so easy to get at.

  • Super easy to load, pellet shells can even be reloaded with shells in the gun if you are using the pellet shells.

  • Really like the Nickel Finish on this gun.

  • Can get simulated Ivory grips for it if you prefer that look.

Cons:

  • Sights are not adjustable.

  • Warning instructions on side of the frame.

  • Barrel is not rifled for pellet use?

  • Only a Single Action Only Hammer and Trigger but true to the style of the gun.

Comments:

Yet another classic shell loading CO2 BB Revolver, and again the more the merrier in my option! I like that you get 12 shells with our kit version, 6 removable shells for 4.5mm Steel BB’s and 6 removable shells for .177 caliber Pellets. The Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver is for sure a hefty revolver but the pistol grip is not super large so even people with smaller hands should not have a problem shooting the Schofield No. 3 CO2 BB-Pellet Revolver. The real problem is deciding which Shell Loading Airgun Revolver to buy now since we have so many to choose from… Classic or modern, nickel or black, or perhaps weathered?

TR5 Pellet Rifle - Schofield No. 3 BB-Pellet Revolver - RG-88 Chrome Blank Pistol Unboxing Preview Video

Here we have three very different products I Unbox and Preview for everyone. A Spring Piston multi-shot .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle, a single action BB/Pellet revolver that’s not a Colt! And a really nice looking Semi Auto Blank Pistol in a Chrome finish.

Let’s start with the Air Venturi TR5 Spring Piston 5-shot .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle. I think this is a really well thought out Air Rifle. It’s “almost a Bullpup” in design but it does actually load in front of the trigger just a bit, that said most of the spring piston is behind the trigger setup making it really compact yet with a longer than normal barrel compared to regular Break Barrel Spring Piston Air Rifles. The Air Venturi TR5 Spring Piston 5-shot .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle also has a side lever cocking mechanism along with a 5 round auto indexing magazine which makes it much quicker to cock and reload for fast follow-up shots, again compared to a standard Break Barrel Air Rifle, not to mention no barrel droop! The Air Venturi TR5 Spring Piston 5-shot .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle has a claimed fps of up to 500 so we are getting the max amount of velocity possible for our Canadian laws without making it a regulated firearm and requiring a PAL license. And by the way the Air Venturi TR5 Spring Piston 5-shot .177 Caliber Pellet Rifle does come in both a Lime Green and all Black version just in case you are not a fan of the Lime Green finish I show in this video.

Moving onto the Schofield No. 3 BB/Pellet 6 Shot Revolver Replica, if you like single action revolvers then take a look at the Schofield No. 3 BB/Pellet 6 Shot Revolver Replica. It’s a lot more bulky than a Colt Single Action Revolver and also has that top Break design that makes reloading quick and easy. The version we are selling inner Replica Airgun Online Store is the kit version that comes with 6 BB shells and 6 pellet shells so you can take your pick on ammo types. The barrel is not rifled so Steel BB’s will not hurt the Airgun and since pellets are skirted they do not need a rifled barrel to fly straight and true. You can expect around 445 fps for the Schofield No. 3 BB/Pellet 6 Shot Revolver Replica.

Last up is one of my favorite Blank firing Semi Auto Pistols which I have already full reviews in the all Black version so checkout those Video Reviews for more info on the ROHM RG-88 line of Front Firing 9mm Blank Pistols. All I really wanted to show you guys with the ROHM RG-88 9mm PAK Blank Pistol in Polished Chrome is how awesome it looked with the Polished Chrome finish and that we do have more choices now than we use to have in terms of what finish you can get your ROHM RG-88 in. Personally I like the Polished Chrome finish the best but you can also get it in all Black and Matte Chrome, so you decide which one you like the best.

Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Field Test Review

If you have not already checked out my Table Top Video then make sure to do so for more details and specifications and also some nice close up video of the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. In this video we see how well the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol performs in the Replica Airguns Indoor See Can Airgun Shooting Range. I test out the velocity and accuracy and also talk a little bit about how the gun performed overall for me. You can also checkout my Table Top and Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Glock 17 3rd Gen as it is mechanically very similar to the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol.

Starting off with my velocity power test using my  Caldwell Ballistic Precision Chronograph, I was able to get really close to the factory claimed fps of 360 with an average of 347 fps. Shooting conditions where decent in the See Can compared to outside temperatures in late October but still not that warm at only 16 Degrees Celsius (60 Degrees Fahrenheit), a lot warmer than outside but still not as warm as your typical summer day. In warmer conditions I am sure I would have hit the claimed 360 or even high fps with the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol.

Next for my Field Testing , I placed 10 shots into a paper target with my Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol from 30 feet down range using my standard seated and rested shooting position (Seated in the back and rested on a sand bag up front). I was able to get right around a 2 inch 10 shot group, not bad at all! The Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol did shoot a little bit high and to the left which for some reason is common with most CO2 action airguns and I know it’s not entirely me since others have commented the their airguns shoot a bit to the left in most cases. Elevation was pretty close at 30 feet but just a tad high.

The Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is very similar to their Umarex Glock 17 3rd Gen in terms of their mechanical build and function since both use the same magazines and have that semi blowback action but I can say the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol not only looks better in my opinion but the slide is improved as it seems to have a less metallic sound and the slide wiggle is very minimal. The Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol also did not lack in the performance department getting really close to the the claimed 360 FPS while shooting about the same 10 round grouping of 2 inches which is about what I expect for an action BB shooter. Now we have a bunch of Umarex Glocks to chooses from, checkout our Replica Airguns Canada and US Online Stores for Glock airguns and find one that’s right for you!

Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Table Top Review

Type: Blowback CO2 BB Pistol.
Manufacturer: Distributed by Umarex.
Model: Glock 19X.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 1.5 pounds (662 grams).
Barrel: Smooth bore 3.36 inch barrel (85.3mm).
Propulsion: CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi auto blowback, double action only trigger.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 18 round drop out full size metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 360.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is what I would call a double action trigger mainly because there is an indexing of the BB from the magazine into the breach area every time you pull the trigger which means the take up is longer thanks a standard Glock take up and there is a little bit of friction from the mechanical mechanism that indexes the BB making the trigger feel more like a double action only trigger.

Accuracy: At this point I have not shot the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol so I can only quote what Umarex is saying in terms of FP2 which is 360. That said I have already done a full Table Top and Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol which is essentially the same mechanical gun but with a slightly longer slide and barrel. In my Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol I was able to get a 5 shot average fps of 363 in a bit cooler shooting conditions along with 2 inch 10 shot grouping from a 30 foot shooting distance.

Build Quality: The Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol seems to be really well made. Fit and finish are nice and slide wiggle is minimal. There is a bit of a clanky sound when the slide cycles but not as bad as the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I also think the Coyote finish is the nicest looking with its black on tan two tone look.

Realism: The Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol absolutely looks the part of a Glock 19X, sitting on the table and even holding it in your hand you are going to think it's the real deal until of course you drop the magazine and see that it is a CO2 mag. Mostly everything operates like a real Glock 17 but the slide is not a full blowback meaning it only goes back about 3/4 as much as a real Glock 17 slide would. One other noticeable difference is the ability to quickly field strip the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, you will need to remove a pin since the take down tabs are non functioning and moulded into the frame.
Available From: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Nice weight and feel to it, build quality seems good.

  • Really nice looking replica of the real steel Glock 19X, love the Coyote color.

  • Fully Glock licensed.

  • Easy to see white dot sights front and back.

  • Recessed barrel for added realism.

  • Accessory rail for adding a laser or tactical light.

  • Full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and 18 4.5mm steel BB’s.

  • Safety built into the serial number plate area keeps it well hidden.

  • Warning instruction are nice and discreet under trigger guard

  • Not bad feeling double action only trigger as the blowback pre-cocks the internal hammer/strike.

  • 360 fps is decent for a blowback BB gun.

Cons:

  • Does have blowback action but not full blowback.

  • Slide sound is a bit clanky but not as bad as the 17 Gen 3 Blowback.

  • Sight are non-adjustable which is common with low cost action shooters like this one.

  • Would have liked to have seen more pristine packaging from Glock over the plastic clamshell

Comments:

It’s great to see Umarex expanding their live of Glock licensed Airguns and the addition of the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is welcome! Some of you are not going to like the semi blowback action but it does mean you get higher fps and more shots per CO2 while still getting that simulated recoil form the blowback action. I honestly thing the Umarex Glock 19X CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is one of the most attractive Glock Airguns with it’s Coyote Tan frame and slide with black highlights, I also like the compact size for its shortened frame and slide over the Umarex Glock 17 Gen 3 CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. So many to choose for now but I guess that a good thing or perhaps just get them all!

What’s going on next week?

I will be away competing in a Body Building Fitness Contest so there will not be any more videos that week.

You may have noticed I have been withering away this past couple of months. This is in preparation for a Fitness Contest I am going into. For a show like this you need to be super lean to be competitive.

I have been competing since 2015 mainly in Men’s Physique and have qualified myself over the years to compete at the National level in Amateur Body Building.

The competition I am going to is the GNC / ALLMAX Canadian National Pro Qualifier in Toronto. If I do really well I can possibly get an IFBB Pro Card. Getting an IFBB Pro Card means I would now be able to compete in Pro Body Building competitions.

In order to win the Pro Card I would need to win my hight class and then win the overalls against the other winners in their hight class.

To date I have come close to winning the IFFB Pro Card but just missed it on two occasions. I am hoping to get the IFBB Pro Card this times around but I know the competition will be very competitive.

Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol Field Test Review

In this Field Test Shooting Video I focus on Umarex’s latest CO2 Blowback BB Airgun, the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. We have been waiting a while for this one to ship and now that it’s here I really want to get to shooting it and finding out if it performed as good as it looked and felt.

I loaded up my Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol with a brand new 12 gram Sig Sauer CO2 cartridges along with some 4.5mm RWS 5.1 grain Zinc coated BB’s and began the Chronograph portion of my Indoor Field Test Shooting Video. The temperature was not overly warm sitting right around 19 degrees Celsius or 66 degrees Fahrenheit. Umarex claims roughly around 300 fps from the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol but I was able to get just a bit high with my 5 shots through the Chronograph averaging 310 fps.

I then put up a paper target 30 feet down range, reloaded my full size drop out metal magazine with 10 more steel BB’s and proceeded to carefully place the 10 shots into the target using a rested and seated shooting position. I was able to get around a 3.5 inch grouping but I feel I could have done better since several rounds actually shot one on top of the other. The Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol did shot just a little bit low and to the left but not a lot.

I really like the trigger on the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol, it’s short and light, perfect for shot placement and also action shooting. The blowback action is nice and crisp giving the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol just enough blowback recoil effect. I didn't have any issues with the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol which makes for the best testing and out of all the Umarex Glocks to date the Umarex Glock 17 4th Gen CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is by far my favorite version! If you already have and Umarex Glock, that’s OK get this one too, you won’t be disappointed.
