Replica Airguns Deals - EKOL ASI and Airgun 92

I thought I would start making quick YouTube Videos for the deals I have going on, so my YouTube fans don't get left out on some of the deals to be had over here on the Replica Airguns Website and Store.

This is the first so hopefully everyone likes the idea! This one mentions the crazy blank shooting EKOL ASI Machine Gun deal going on right now and also the pellet shooting Valtro Airgun 92 with Shoot2 System temporary price cut.

Crosman C41 CO2 BB Pistol Review - Walther P38 Replica

Type: BB Air Pistol.
Manufacturer: Crosman.
Model: C41.
Materials: Metal & plasctic.
Weight: 2 pounds.
Barrel: 5.19 inches, metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x1 (12 gram).
Action: Semi auto double action only.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm steel BB's.
Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.
FPS: 495.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman C42 is surprisingly good for a double action only airgun, it is a tad bit long but the extra length seems to smooth out the trigger pull giving the C41 a light yet predictable trigger pull.
Accuracy: This BB shooter out of the box did not do very well! It did get better over time and I was able to get closer to a 2 inch grouping from 20 feet out in a free standing position. My Crosman C41 had a noticeable amount of oil on the magazine when I got it and if this oil came from the internal parts of the gun, the oil could most certainly effect accuracy and feet per second ratings. I also noticed that the FPS seemed to increase over time which is contradictory to how CO2 generally performs. (Usually FPS lowers as the CO2 gets used up and the gun cools down)

Build Quality: This is a relatively inexpensive air gun to purchase, in most cases an airgun in this price range will be mostly made out of plastic but the C41 is the other way around and is almost all metal! It isn't an overly complicated gun with a lot of moving parts other than the slide and trigger so to speak, but that means there is less to go wrong. This gun is very rugged with the exception of the handle which seems a bit loose but I doubt will cause any problems down the road.
Realism: Although the Crosman C41 is not advertised as a Walther P38 Replica nor is it licensed in any way, it does very closely resemble the Walther P38 semi auto 9mm pistol used in the Second World War. There are some slight differences but overall it is a close copy to the German Walther P38.
Available in the: Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Low price for an all metal gun.
  • Very solid feeling gun.
  • Nice all metal drop out magazine.
  • Nice combination of FPS and accuracy.
  • Excellent CO2 efficiency - over 150 shots per CO2!
  • Not too many World War Two Replicas - nice version of the German Walther P38.
  • CO2 and CO2 tab are nicely hidden.
  • Nice smooth trigger pull for a double action only gun.

Cons:

  • Not a lot of working parts (left side safety and hammer molded into gun).
  • Grips are fairly lose, they don't really snap into open or closed position all that well.
  • FPS did't get that close to the factory claim of 495 FPS - but was increasing over time.
  • Handle may be a bit thick for smaller hands?

Comments:
The Crosman C41 has an excellent combination of FPS, Accuracy and CO2 efficiency with an amazing 150 plus shots per CO2. It is also one of the few older styled replicas available, closly replicating the German made Walther P38 9mm semi auto pistol used in the Second World War making it a great addition to any airgun collection. The Crosman C41 is a very good overall airgun for the money giving you pretty much an all metal airgun that should give you years of enjoyment.

Umarex EBOS CO2 BB Machine Gun - Gone Tactical

My recently acquired (Thanks UmarexUSA) Umaerx EBOS CO2 BB Machine Gun was just screaming for some add-ons and to be honest the first thing that I noticed was the open sights really needed upgrading. Luckily the rear sight is removable allowing you to mount just about any type of Red Dot Scope or sighting system you want, just make sure it is high enough to see up and over the front BB hopper.

I decided to go with an EOTech Styled Red-Green Dot Tactical Scope and I have to tell you this guns looks awesome with it installed!

I finished off the look with an unobtrusive Tactical Rail Mount Flashlight. All in all I think I spent about as much if not more on accessories for this gun as it is worth to buy :)

Umarex EBOS CO2 BB Machine Gun Arrives

Look what arrived in the mail today :)

This one was provided to me by UmarexUSA for Review along with my Umarex Walther SG9000 BB Shotgun that I just reviewed and also the very nice Umarex S&W M&P 45 Pellet and BB  Pistol that I have yet to review.

I hope to review the EBOS sometime next week. Basically the Umarex EBOS is a CO2 powered 1-4-8 shot burst machine gun that uses an electrically powered trigger system in conjunction with an 88 gram CO2 Power-source to hurl BB's at just over 500 FPS downrange. Should be fun!

Umarex Walther SG9000 CO2 BB Shotgun Review

Type: CO2 BB Shotgun.
Manufacturer: UmarexUSA.
Model: Walther SG9000.
Materials: Plastic (polymer) and some metal construction.
Weight: 2.35 pounds.
Barrel: 11.5 inches, metal non-rifled.
Propulsion: CO2 x 1 (88 gram).
Action: Semi auto, double action only.
Ammunition Type: 4.5mm BB's
Ammunition Capacity: 40 shot internal spring fed magazine.
FPS: 480 (single shot) - 250 (three shot burst).
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Walther SG 9000 is in the mid range and is a bit long but once you get used to it you can fire off shots very quickly with little resistance. There really aren't any sticky spots in the trigger pull to speak of.

Accuracy: I shot this CO2 BB Shotgun at a target from the hip 20 feet away using my NcSTAR laser sight I installed on it in a free standing position, and it performed excellent getting a 1.5 inch grouping fairly centered on target. I also performed my accuracy test from 30 feet out in a semi-rested position using my 6x32 NcSTAR Scope and again I got a 1.5 inch grouping proving that a BB gun can show decent accuracy even from further out when setup properly. With my Chrony Chronograph testing I scored much higher then the factory claimed feet per second of 480fps in single shot mode and 250fps in three shot burst mode. I ended up getting an average 8 shot fps in single shot mode of 504fps and 309fps in three shot burst mode!
Build Quality: This is an almost all external polymer air gun with some metal components on the inside giving the Walther SG9000 a bit of a light to medium overall weight but once you add the large 88 gram CO2 cartridge and some accessories this gun can quickly gain a pound or two. All four accessory rails are metal along with the trigger. The fit and finish is very good on the SG9000 and the plastic quality seems very durable.

Realism: The Umarex Walther SG9000 is licensed by Walther but other then a similarity in the pistol grip it doesn't closely look like any specific Walther product or any specific Tactical shotgun for that matter. It does have a very tactical look and with a few accessories added you will have yourself a very persuasive looking shotgun on your hands.
Supplied by UmarexUSA - Can be purchased from: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive versatile BB shotgun.
  • Nothing else really like it out there.
  • Multiple shooting modes - singe and three shot burst.
  • Uses 88 Gram CO2 so less stopping to change CO2.
  • Very good FPS readings - above factory claims.
  • Very accurate for a BB gun from close up and further out.
  • Lots of rail locations for all kinds of accessories and different customizable looks.
  • High capacity 40 round internal magazine.
  • Totally fun!

Cons:

  • The plastic exterior may put off some people looking for a heavier more metal gun.
  • 88 Gram CO2 can be a bit pricy, not as cost effective as 12 gram CO2.
  • Trigger pull is kind of long.
  • You will need to purchase some sort of a sighting system for it as all you have is a rail on top.

Comments:
The Umarex Walther SG9000 is a really fun and very inexpensive CO2 BB shotgun. With its multiple shooting modes you have the option of power and accuracy in single shot mode or to simply blow stuff away in three shot burst mode. The Walther SG9000 is also very customizable allowing you to really make this Tactical BB shotgun your own by decking it out with just about any combination of add ons and accessories you like! I found this gun the most fun to shoot in three shot burst mode using my laser sight and literally knocking down everything I pointed at!

Crosman C41 and PRO77 CO2 BB Air Pistol Preview

Crosman Corporation sent me two CO2 BB guns for review and like my recently received Umarex Air guns I thought I would make a quick Preview Video before I go into detail with them and make the full Review videos.

The two guns given to me by Crosman for review are the Crosman C41 Walther P38 BB Gun Replica and the Crosman PRO77 Blowback CO2 BB Pistol. I also quickly show you another Crosman pistol - the Crosman 1377 American Classic that I recently purchased from myself  "The Replica Airguns Store".

A few highlights worth mentioning about each air gun:

  • The Crosman C41 is an all metal gun weighing in at close to 3 pounds!
  • The Crosman C41 has a high fps of 495fps and should also do very well in the accuracy department.
  • The PRO77 is a metal and polymer airgun with heavy blowback operation.
  • The PRO77 is a single action only gun with a working hammer.
  • The Crosman 1377 American Classic is a .177 caliber pellet pistol capable of up to 499fps
  • The Crosman 1377 is extremely accurate and can be modified a number of different ways with parts readily available for this very fine target air pistol.

Take a quick look at these three Crosman products in my YouTube video:

Umarex Walther SG9000 and S&W M&P 45 CO2 Airgun Preview

Before I get into my full reviews of the Umarex Walther SG 9000 BB Shotgun and Umarex S&W M&P 45 Air Pistol, I thought I would do a quick Preview so you could get a quick look at both of these fine Umarex products.

A few highlights worth mentioning about each air gun:

  • The Walther SG9000 shoots in both single shot and a 3 shot burst that fires all 3 rounds at exactly the same time, in the same manner that an actual shotgun would simultaneously fire all the buck shot.
  • The Walther SG9000 is capable of 480 fps and uses an 88gram CO2 cartridge so you can refill the 40 rounds spring fed magazine a multitude of times before needing to replace your CO2.
  • The Walther SG9000 does not come with any actual sights so you will need to add either a Red Dot Scope or Laser on to one of the many provided Picatinny rails located on the shotgun.
  • The S&W M&P 45 can shoot in both double action and also single action by pulling the rear portion of the slide back to cock the internal hammer allowing for a very light single action trigger.
  • The Smith & Wesson M&P 45 has a very nice solid weight to it, I was actually surprised at how hefty it was considering it has a mainly all plastic outer shell, my best guess would be close to 2 pounds. I think it's time to invest in a scale!
  • The S&W M&P 45 also has a recessed barrel giving the muzzle the large caliber look of a real 45 auto adding to the realism of this replica gun.

Take a quick look at these two Umarex products in my YouTube video:

Cross Border Airgun Trip Almost Lands Me in Jail

OK, right off the bat the title for this post is a bit dramatic but if it gets me a few extra hits why not!

So I went south across the boarder to pickup a few air guns supplied to me for review by UmarexUSA. Umarex is not comfortable sending airguns to me directly in Canada so I have Umarex send it to a place close to the boarder in Blaine that ships and receives items.

Todays trip I was bringing back a couple air guns - the Umarex SG9000 BB Shotgun and the Umarex S&W M&P 45. Both of which shoot under 500 fps and have an energy value of less then 5.7 Joules which classifies them as Un-Controlled Firearms in Canada. And what does this mean? The short of it is that in Canada we are not allowed "Replica guns" and so there are some Police and Border Guards that believe any airgun that looks like a real gun is a "replica gun" and so it is illegal to own or import into Canada.

It is kind of complicated but we have provision in our Canadian Firearms Act that addresses this issue but as I found out today, not all Border Guards are aware of this. Now I do not want to bad-mouth our Canadian Border Guards, for the most part they are very fair and they are just doing their job to the best of their ability.

Here is a link to the entire Memorandum that addresses this issue if you want to read it all (reference: CBSA Memorandum D19-13-2  pages 8-16)

Here are the parts that are important to my story!

Replica Firearm:

  • A device that resembles a real firearm but cannot fire a projectile, or its projectile cannot cause serious bodily harm.  Replica firearms are prohibited devices (most AEG's and GBB pistols).  Prohibited devices are not the same things as prohibited firearms.

Firearm:

  • A barrelled device firing a projectile able to cause serious bodily harm. For CBSA's purpose, all firearms are separated into either controlled firearms, or un-controlled firearms.

Controlled:

  • A firearm with muzzle velocity above 500 FPS AND muzzle energy above 5.7 Joules.  Serial number, registration, Firearm Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) are required to import / purchase and possess any controlled firearms

Un-Controlled:

  • A firearm with muzzle velocity below 500 FPS OR muzzle energy below 5.7 Joules.  There is no serial number, registration, license or permit required to import / purchase / own such un-controlled firearms

Exception:

  • The following goods generally do not meet the definition of prohibited weapon, and thus do not fall under tariff item 9898.00.00. Their misuse may nonetheless be punishable under other laws:
  • (a) an air gun or BB/pellet gun that resembles a real make and model of a firearm may not be a replica firearm if it is an “uncontrolled” firearm (see “Uncontrolled” firearms).

Sorry to make you read that but it is imperative to the rest of my story so that you understand that a Metal BB or Pellet gun that shoots under 500 fps with an energy level below 5.7 Joules is in fact an Un-Controlled Firearm or a barrelled device firing a projectile able to cause serious bodily harm and can in fact resemble a real make or model of firearm.

Unfortunately I did not print off Memorandom D19-13-2 (Note to self... Print it off before heading across the boarder to pickup Air guns!). Now last time I had no problems at all bringing my Umarex PPQ across the border, I guess my Border Guard that time was on the up and up?

Well this time I got sent right into the main building for "Question and Answer Time".

They took a look at the air guns and came back and said, "I can't let you keep these airguns because they are Replica guns."

So I said, "They are not Replicas, they are Un-Contorlled Firearms making them in fact not a Replica but an actual Firearm.

So they said, "Our documentation says that any airgun that looks like a Firearm, is a Replica and we do not classify airguns as Firearms".

So I said, "So all the places in Canada selling Replica Airguns are doing so illegally and if so, how are they getting all these guns past you guys?"

We went back and forth on this for about a half an hour and I was not disrespectful to the Border Guard and he also took the time to hear me out. After he realized that I was more then just your average uninformed tourist returning from vacation with an airgun keepsake, he went into the back and returned to tell me he had good news. "You can keep your air guns" he said! He had spoken with another Border Guard who knew more about the Airgun - Replica laws and was set straight on the confusing matter.

Yes it was a bit stressful at the time but I still have all my faith in our Border Guards, they where not in any way rude to me, but keep in mind I was not disrespectful to them either. It kind of makes you wonder how many fully legal airguns get confiscated at the border and more then likely destroyed?

So anyways - the good news is I have two more Umarex products that I will be reviewing very soon. So make sure to checkout the Umarex SG9000 BB Shotgun and the Umarex S&W M&P 45 when I do their upcoming reviews.

Crosman 1377 American Classic .177 Pellet Pistol added to the Collection

I received my Crosman American Classic .177 Multi-pump Bolt Action Pellet Pistol a few days ago and had a bit of time to shoot yesterday. I was extremely impressed with this very inexpensive classic single shot bolt action target pistol. Even using the stock open sights, I shot a group about 1 inch in diameter from a 30 foot out free standing unrested position!

I still prefere my Webley Alecto but then again it is about 5 times more expensive and so it should be a better gun :)

I will be following this up with a full review some time down the road...

Here are some specifications for the Crosman 13177 American Classic:

  • .177 pellet
  • 495 FPS
  • Length: 13.63"
  • Weight: 2 pounds
  • Underlever pump action
  • Single shot - Bolt
  • Rifled barrel

Baikal IZH MP-61 Side Lever Spring Piston Air Rifle Review

Type: Pellet air rifle.
Manufacturer: Baikal.
Model: IZH MP-61.
Materials: Metal & plastic.
Weight: 4.3 pounds.
Barrel: 18.5 inches, metal-rifled.
Propulsion: Spring piston.
Action: Repeater.
Ammunition Type: .177 caliber pellets.
Ammunition Capacity: 5 rounds.
FPS: 490.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the IZH MP-61 is a nice light 1.4 pounds and the release stage is also adjustable, you actually need to be careful of accidental shots as the trigger is light enough to go off before you are ready to shoot.
Accuracy: Very good, I was not so sure when first using the IZH-61 with my initial scope and pellet setup but my second open sight test with different pellets yielded a very tight 1 inch group from 30 feet out in a standing unrested position.

Build Quality: This is a no-nonsense gun made Russian style, it is built to be cost effective so there are parts that could be made with metal that are plastic but there isn't anything on this gun that feels cheap or poorly built. Baikal also doesn't cheap out on the plastic as not all plastic is the same. I actually dropped the IZH MP-61 right on the front hooded sight without any adverse effects, cheap plastic would have cracked and broken.
Realism: Since the Baikal IZH-61 is not a replica gun, I can not really compare it to any existing one rifle out there, but it does look very tactical in design, much more so then your standard spring piston air rifle.
Purchased this rifle from: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Inexpensive spring piston rifle.
  • Very unique looking air rifle.
  • Side pull lever design.
  • 5 round magazine/clip.
  • Right on the money with FPS.
  • Adjustable Stock.
  • Adjustable Trigger.
  • 11mm dovetail rail mount for scopes.
  • Very light weigh and easy to cock.
  • Made in Russia

Cons:

  • Plastic stock seems to mark up easy - kind of part of the utilitarian look.
  • Mechanics takes a bit of getting use to.
  • Scope rail mount is a bit short.

Comments:
The Baikal IZH MP-61 is a really nice low cost yet full featured air riffle! You really get a lot of rifle for your money: You get an efficient side lever design with a 5 shot magazines for quick repeat shots, a very light weight and adjustable trigger, an adjustable stock, a rail mount for a scope and one of the more tactical looking air rifles available on the market. The Baikal MP-61 also takes the FPS right up to the limit without going over so no license or PAL is required to own this one in Canada. This air rifle is designed for target shooting but could also be used for small pest control if your marksmanship is good enough to hit the vital kill zones of your prey.

Crosman PRO77 Arrives for Review

The other airgun so graciously provided to me by Crosman Corporation was the Crosman PRO77 Blowback 4.5mm CO2 BB pistol. The PRO77 is a true blowback operated semi auto pistol, the slide cocks the exposed hammer with each shot taken and it has a very short trigger pull that does not need to be fully reset with each shot so it should be a really quick shooter!

The PRO77 reminds me an awful lot of my Walther CP99 Compact which sets the bar high, both have metal slide and polymer frames, both are about the same size with very similar specifications. I am looking forward to giving this a try and doing a full review on it. Like the Crosman C41 I just received from Crosman Corporation, you can also pick one up today in our Replica Airguns Store.

Specifications of the Crosman PRO77:

  • 4.5mm Steel BB's
  • 17 round magazine
  • 12 gram CO2
  • Single action only trigger
  • 4.1 inch steel barrel
  • 350 fps
  • 1.3 pounds
  • Fixed sights
  • Blowback operation
  • Metal slide and polymer frame

Anics Skiff A-3000 CO2 Pellet and BB Pistol Review

Type: Pellet & BB air pistol.

Manufacturer:Anics.

Model:Skif A-3000.

Materials: Plastic (polymer) and metal construction.

Weight: 1.6 pounds.

Barrel: 5 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, single & double action.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber Pellets & 4.5mm Steel BB's

Ammunition Capacity: 28 shot magazine.

FPS: 400-500.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Anics Skif A-3000 in single action is fairly good and short, not light but far from heavy. When shooting in double action mode, it does get significantly heavier do to the 28 round rotary magazine friction. Overall it is fairly smooth in double action mode but once in a while you can hit a bit of a sticky spot in the rotation. With that said I was expecting it to be worse and found it usable for me.

Accuracy: I shot this air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position in single action mode and it performed well getting a very respectable 1.5 inch grouping pretty much right on the target. The sights can be adjusted for windage and elevation if your aim is not centered, I had to adjust mine up almost 4-5 inches from the factory settings. With my Chrony Chronograph testing using 7 grain lead pellets I got right up into the low 400fps (8 shot average of 417 fps) and would expect BB's to shoot a bit faster.

Build Quality: The Skiff A-3000 uses a metal slide and polymer frame, there are also lots of metal parts used in the gun like the barrel, slide catch, safety, hammer and sights. Even though it only has a claimed weight of about 1.6 pounds, it feels heavier in the hand. The mechanics seem solid and well designed.

Realism: The Anics Skif A-3000 looks a bit like a mix between a Glock and a Walther P series semi auto hand gun but it is very unique looking. The Skif A-3000 looks the part of a real gun for sure, but exactly which gun is hard to say!

Purchased from: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Good overall construction with gun like parts and assembly.
  • Very solid feeling gun with an ultra modern look.
  • Rifled barrel.
  • Good accuracy and very good power.
  • High capacity 28 round magazine.
  • Can shoot both pellets and BB's.
  • Double and single action trigger.
  • Very unique gun, not a lot around here in North America.
  • Fully adjustable rear sight for windage and elevation.

Cons:

  • Heavy trigger pull in double action mode, but still usable.
  • Red barrel on this one, not necessary in North American market.
  • Rear sight had to be adjured way up on my Skif A-3000.

Comments:

The Anics Skif A-3000 is a very cool gun, nothing looks or works exactly the same with its 28 round pellet loading rotary magazine and ultra modern looks. Sure it has a heavy double action trigger and it's always nice to have blowback but on the other hand the tradeoff is more power and a super high capacity magazine. Combine that with a fully adjustable rear sight, rifled barrel, single and double action trigger and the ability to shoot both pellets and BB's and you have a real winner here.

And not only does this video mark my 100th video uploaded, but I also reached several other milestones pretty much at about the same time:

  • 2,000,000 Video Views
  • 50,000 Channel Views
  • 2500 Subscribers.

Before I get into the contest giveaway I just wanted to recap where this all began and where I am now...

About four years ago I uploaded my "Worlds Smallest Full Auto BB Gun" YouTube video just for fun and when I checked back a few months later it had what I thought was crazy amount of views (Something like 20,000 or so). Now it's getting close to 400,000 hits! skip ahead a few more years to just over a year ago and I got to thinking, why not upload a few more airgun videos since people seem to like them and I like making and talking about airguns.

After several videos I figured I might as well start a "website - blog" and place my YouTube videos on it along with some written reviews and articles, that's when ReplicaAirguns.com was born. Skip ahead to around February of this year and kind of by accident I started selling a few hard to get air guns and blank guns to kind of test the waters and I found that there was a definite market for them here in North America and that my viewers where also shoppers :)

Jump ahead to present day and and as you can see in my Replica Airguns Store, I have a nice selection of mostly replica Air and Blank Guns along with some accessories for my shopping viewers to choose from. And all of this is keeping me so busy that this is all I do now, make videos, work on my website and web-store and of course I spend a great deal of time answering questions from my YouTube viewers and Website visitors and customers.

OK, so let's get back to the contest! I am giving away a Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 4.5mm BB pistol to one of my lucky Subscribers, so how does one go about entering this contest - Giveaway for a chance to win?

  • You have to be a Subscriber of my YouTube Channel.

  • You need to tell a minimum of 3 of your friends about my YouTube Channel or the ReplicaAirguns.com website.
  • You need to be an adult or have your parent or guardian accept the giveaway gift on your behalf.
  • If you are not located in North America, you will be given a PayPal payment in the amount of the North America value of the Tanfoglio Witness 1911.

Umarex Walther CPSport CO2 Pellet & BB Pistol Review

Type: Pellet air pistol.

Manufacturer: UmarexUSA.

Model: Walther CPSport.

Materials: Plastic (polymer) and metal construction.

Weight: 1.3 pounds.

Barrel: 3.3 inches, metal rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, double action only.

Ammunition Type: .177 caliber Pellets

Ammunition Capacity: 8 shot rotary magazine.

FPS: 360.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Walther CPSport is in the mid range with most of the effort at the beginning and middle stages, it does have a predictable release point making it easy to put pellets on target. The CPSport definitely has a lighter trigger then the Umarex Walther PPQ I reviewed earlier.

Accuracy: I shot this air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting an decent 2 inch grouping just to the left and a bit high on the target. The sights can be adjusted for windage if your aim is off to one side or the other. With Chrony Chronograph testing using 6.9 grain lead pellets I got pretty close to the factory claim of 360fps with an average 8 shot fps of 356.

Build Quality: This is an almost all external polymer air gun with a good deal of metal components on the inside giving the Walther CPSport a decent overall weight and heft. It's worth mentioning that the Walther CPSport has a full size drop out magazine for holding the CO2 cartridge that gives the air gun some additional weight and functionality. The fit and finish is very good on the CPSport and the plastic quality seems very durable.

Realism: The Umarex Walther CPSport is licensed by Walther and is loosely based around the Walther P99. The frame is very similar to the P99 but the slide is not nearly as accurate. If you want to step up to a closer replica of the Walther P99, then you may want to take a look at the Umarex CP99 Pellet pistol.

Purchased this gun in: The Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Very reasonable price for a well German made full featured airgun.

  • Can shoot BB's with the Umarex rotary BB magazine.

  • Rifled barrel.

  • Easy to use white sights adjustable for windage.

  • Slide catch and safety and magazine are fully functional.

  • Nice full size drop out CO2 magazine.

  • Good combination of power, accuracy and CO2 efficiency (I got about 100 shots from a CO2)!

  • Even though there is a lot of plastic on the outside, there is a lot of metal on the inside giving this airgun some decent weight and heft.

  • An excellent option for the Umarex CP99 customer on a budget.

Cons:

  • The plastic exterior may put off some customers looking for metal guns.

  • The slide could have more detail work on it to make this gun a bit more believable.

  • The small .177 caliber viewable barrel port is a bit of a giveaway in terms of realism but may help a bit with fps.

Comments:

The Umarex Walther CPSport Pellet air pistol is a great combination of quality vs price. Even though this gun uses a lot of plastic in the build it still performed flawlessly and looks the part, I did not have a single misfire out of all the 100 shots I took! All the mechanical parts of this gun work smoothly making for a very enjoyable and accurate gun to shoot, giving the shooter the confidence that this gun will work exactly a it is intended to do.

Umarex Walther CP99 Compact Recon BB Pistol Review

Type: BB air pistol.

Manufacturer: Umarex.

Model: CP99 Compact Recon Version.

Materials: Metal slide, polymer frame.

Weight: 1.8 pounds.

Barrel: 5 inches, non-rifled.

Propulsion: CO2 x 1.

Action: Semi auto, blowback, single action only.

Ammunition Type: Steel BBs 4.5mm.

Ammunition Capacity: 18 rounds.

FPS: Up to 400.

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex CP99 Compact Recon is amazing, it is short and light making it one of the best action shooters I own. You can fire this gun accurately and fast all day long.

Accuracy: Great! The addition of the Green Dot Scope and slightly longer barrel on the CP99 Compact Recon version work amazingly well, this is one of the most consistent BB shooter I own getting under 2 inch groups at will from 20 feet out.

Build Quality: Excellent, this BB gun is made in Japan and uses metal where it is really needed like in the slide, slide release, safety, trigger, magazine release, magazine and most of the mechanical parts. It's well made, well finished and feels great in the hand.

Realism: This Replica BB gun has many of the same characteristics of the actual 9mm P99 Compact with the exception of having a longer handle and much different safety mechanism. Umarex has even changed the design a bit with the newer CP99 Compacts and made the ejection port cut out adding to the realism of this BB shooter.

Available at: the Replica Airguns Store.

Pros:

  • Decent reproduction of the original Walther P99 Compact 9mm.

  • Would make an excellent training gun as it has a similar size, weight, and feel to the actual Walther P99 Compact 9mm handgun.

  • Blowback action is very firm adding to the realism of shooting this weapon.

  • Really good FPS, accuracy and CO2 efficiency for a blowback BB air gun.

  • The Recon version has a longer barrel adding a few more FPS to this already great air pistol.

  • Amazing light and fast trigger pull making it a blast to shoot.

  • Addition of the Sight Rail, Compensator and Green Dot scope really add to the esthetics and performance of this BB pistol.

Cons:

  • The Sight Rail, Compensator and most of the Green Dot scope are plastic but this does not seem to effect the performance in any way.

  • Safety lever seems out of place and takes away from the realism of this replica.

  • Switch on the Green Dot Scope is silver making it stand out from the rest of the all black air gun.

Comments:

I already loved the CP99 Compact non-Recon version so I had very high expectations for this BB gun to be at least as good if not better and I was not disappointed! I was actual surprised at the improvements that the longer barrel and Green Dot Scope made not only in a much higher Feet Per Second rating (about 75 fps), but also the much improved accuracy in what was already a decent shooter. For the additional $40, you get the Sight Rail which allows you to add multiple accessories if required. You get the Green Dot Scope that noticeably improved the accuracy, and you also get the compensator which hides the extra long barrel for more FPS.

Rubber Grips and Rail added to the Tanfoglio Witness 1911

I can't help but share some of the photos my happy viewers and customers send me and it seem like the hot item right now is the Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 CO2 BB Pistol yet again.

These latest photos are brought to you by Mil3 who added rubber grips and an accessory rail to his Tanfoglio Witness 1911. He said the rubber grips only needed some slight carving out on the back side to make them fit.
