Type: Paintball Gun. Manufacturer:Umarex - T4E. Model:T4E HK VP9 Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 790 grams (1.7 pounds). Barrel: Smooth bore. Power Source: 1x12 gram CO2. Action: DAO Semi-Automatic with blowback action. Ammo Type: .43 Caliber Paintball / Rubber Ball / Pepper Ball. Ammo Capacity: 8 Rounds. FPS: 300.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol feels a lot like a double action trigger mainly because when you pull the trigger, the inner barrel travels backwards into the magazine placing a paintball round in the barrel which seals the barrel with the magazine so less CO2 is wasted. This does make the trigger a little bit longer and heavier than a single action trigger because of the added friction. The internal hammer/striker is engaged from the blowback action which does help lesson the overall triggers pull weight.
Accuracy: So far I have not had the opportunity to test the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol, so stay posted for my upcoming Field Test Shooting Video where I will see what kind of velocity and accuracy we can expect from the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol. For now you can watch my Field Test Shooting Video for the Umarex T4E S&W M&P9 M2.0 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol as it is very similar in design and should for the most part perform in a similar manner.
Build Quality: The build quality of the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is good overal, you will find metal parts are where you would expect them to be, in the slide, slide catch, barrel, magazine and most internal parts giving the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol a decent overall weight of almost 2 pounds with the magazine in which makes the Paintball version feel comparable to a real steel HK VP9 (710 grams - 25 ounces). The T4E HK VP9 does have a polymer frame but again this is normal with todays modern guns and helps keep the weight down. Fit and finish is also very good!
Realism: The Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is a fully licensed replica of the real steel HK VP9 via its Umarex Licensing. The Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is made specifically as a training tool for owners of similar real steel HK Handguns so for that reason it is made to replicate its powder burning counterpart very closely. You will find that the slide cycle distance is a bit shorter than it would be meaning that when the side catch is engaged the slide does not go as far back in the 9mm version. Field stripping the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol will requires some tools and pin removal.
Pros:
Accurate weight and solid feeling gun.
Full Metal slide that locks back on the last shot.
All metal heavy full size drop out magazine adds some additional weight to the gun.
Good for real steel H&K VP9 owners looking for a similar training weapon.
Everything works pretty much like the real gun so again great as a training tool.
Easy to see white dot sights front and back.
Working trigger safety
Fit and finish is very good.
Magazine spring release pops the magazine out just enough to grab it but not drop it on the floor.
.43 caliber barrel opening, adds to realism.
Warning instructions are a lot more discrete under the trigger guard and not super white in color.
Comes with additional grip parts to customize to various hand sizes.
Cons:
Magazine only holds 8 rounds, so you are going to need extra magazines for sure.
Blowback action is not full blowback, more like a typical half blowback BB gun.
Sights are non adjustable.
Comments:
The Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is mechanically very close to the Umarex Walther PPQ M2 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol and the Umarex T4E S&W M&P9 M2.0 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol in how it functions as a Paintball Pistol so I expect all of them to shoot very similarly and that’s not a bad thing since previous versions I have tested so far have performed rather well for me in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Shooting Range. If you are an HK fan then the Umarex T4E HK VP9 .43 Cal. Paintball Pistol is about as close as you are going to get in a Replica Paintball Pistol. Owning the paintball version will allow for a lot more opportunities to get some trigger time in and hone your shooting skill with a very similar gun to the one you my own, and at a fraction off the cot to 9mm ammo.
In this Replica Airguns Unboxing Video I take a look at 6 Airguns consisting of 2 Paintball Pistols, 3 Airsoft Rifles and one Pellet Rifle. This is not a full review in any way but is rather a preview of what i will be doing full Reviews for over the next several weeks.
This is not exclusive to Airguns since trends of Airguns are highly influenced by what type of Real Steel Pistols are popular to people. This is often based on what people see portrayed in movies and TV Series, and also promoted online. There is for sure an overlap in what is popular and it is hard to say what is influencing what? Is it the popularity of Pistols out in the real world that influences what we see being used in the movies and on TV? Or is it what we see in Movies and TV that influences our choices of pistols out in the real world? Perhaps it is a combination of both?
My list is based on my own personal experience and does not represent the entirety of types of Pistol designs available.
Last week I individually tested out the Barra Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 and the Krytac LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifles here in the Replica Airguns Indoor Sea Can Shooting Range to see how well they would perform. I was very surprised at how closely they performed considering the Barra Black Ops is around a quarter of the cost of the Krytac LVOA-C.
My testing in the Indoor Sea Can is a bit limited in terms of range as I can only set a target to about 30 feet away given the limitations of my 40 foot Sea Cam. I really wanted to take both of these AEG Airsfot Rifles and test them out at much longer ranges to see if the much lower cost Barra Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 could compete with the Krytac LVOA-C Airsoft Rifle at 50 feet and 100 feet respectively. So that’s exactly what I did! I did use a bit heavier Airsoft BB’s (.28 gram) for the longer range outdoors and much windier shooting conditions but I do have to say it was a bit windy on my testing day which I am sure played a roll.
I did place a few pre-test shots downrange at my 100 foot target to get an idea of where I needed to place my aim point and this did help me a bit to get in the ball park but by no way was a bang on in terms of sighting in. Because of this I did have to make some on-the-fly adjustments as I tested but was able to get rounds on paper at 100 feet even with the wind gusts.
In this second video I test out the more expensive of the two AEG Airsoft Rifles, the Krytac LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle to see how it compared to my previous Barra Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 test. I was a bit surprised at the results expecting the Krytac LVOA-C Airsoft Rifle to be the clearly superior option. As it turns out there was actually very little difference at least in term of accuracy out of the box. That said the Krytac LVOA-C had a much more responsive trigger with virtually no delay between pulling the trigger and actual BB’s being fired. This also makes full auto shooting a completely different experience as the Krytac LVOA-C rounds per minute is out of this world!

In this first video I test out the cheaper option Barra Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle on its own, my next video will be exclusively the Krytac LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle in which I will wrap up with my conclusion of both AEG Airsoft Rifles. I think you will be surprised at the results but you will have to wait a bit to find out!
In this Filed Test Shooting Video for the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle I test out the claimed velocity and then the general accuracy in both semi and full auto to find out if spending top dollar gets you top results. If you want more information on specifications and details along with more close up video then make sure to watch my Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle Table Top Review Video already uploaded.
Krytac claims the Warsport LVOA-C is able to shoot a velocity of around 390-410 fps using .20 gram Airsfot plastic BB’s and by God it does. I was able to get an average 6 shot result of 402 fps with the slowest shot hitting 400 fps and the fastest shot toping out at 404 fps. This is ideal for most Airsoft Game shooting situations, having enough power to shoot out at fairly far away targets without hopefully injuring anyone that may get shot closer in.
For my Accuracy Test of the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle I first shot 10 rounds into a fresh paper target placed 30 feet down range using a rested up front and sitting in the back shooting position. I. Was not able to use the rear stock as my battery configuration was too bulky and did not allow for this so not being able to shoulder the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG was not ideal but I got it done. My 10 shot semi auto grouping resulted in a solid 1 inch grouping, I did have one round come out just a tad but that was more than likely human factor rather than the gun. In terms of shot placement out of the box the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C was almost right on sight with a good amount of shots in the bullseye but leaning a bit to the left and a smidge low. You could easily adjust the sights to be dead on as they are fully adjustable. I then repeated this test but in Full Auto and basically emptied the 300 round magazine amazingly quickly and this time my grouping spread out an additional inch to 2 inches. Remember this was for 200+ total rounds!
So do you get what you pay for? Sure you do, I would say this AEG Airsoft Rifle has one of the fastest rates of fire I have tested to date, it is almost like shotgun a gatling gun! Additionally I really like the mid/high cap magazine design that does not have a standard spring tensioner you need to wind between groups of shots. Basically just use a speed loader to fill it up and shoot till it’s empty. Overall performance was really good as the testing showed. I would like to get this AEG Airsoft rifle outside and test it out at longer ranges to see how it stacks up against a lower costs AEG Airlift Rifles. Maybe that will be my next video? But for now I can for sure recommend the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle to anyone looking for a high end AEG AR styled Airsoft Rifle.
In this Field Test Shooting Review Video I try out the low cost BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle to see if you can actually get a decent performing AEG Airsoft Rifle for around $200 Canadian that comes with everything you need to get started including the battery, charger, cleaning rod and even a small bag of AIrsoft BB’s. As always I test the velocity and the accuracy so you can compare it to previous Field Test Videos I have made for similar AEG Airsoft guns, most being a lot more expensive. If you have not watched my Table Top Video Review then make sure to do so for specifications, details and more closeup video of the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle.
Starting with the velocity, I ended up shooting 11 rounds through my Chronograph because I was a little bit in disbelief at all the duplicate fps shots I was getting (basically this means they where mostly all the same fps at 373) I did end up getting an 11 shot average of 373 fps with the slowest hitting 370 fsp and the fastest at 374, and again pretty much all the rest where right on 373 fps. I was using .20 gram Airsoft BB’s for this test which explains the lower than 420 fps claimed by the manufacturer using .12 gram BB’s. 373 fps, so 737 fps is right on point and very usable in most Airsoft game situations.
So with that really great velocity result in the books, I then moved on to my accuracy test. As always I setup a fresh paper target 30 feet downrange and shot in both semi and full auto to see what kind of groupings I could get from the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle. I stayed with the .20 gram Airsoft BB’s and sat in a somewhat rested shooting position with a sandbag upfront and sitting on a stool in the back. My 10 shot semi-auto grouping was an impressive 1 inch, just a bit lower and to the right of the bullseye using the fiber optic non-adjustable sights. I would need to use the pop-up sights to adjust for windage and could have brought up the rounds a bit using hop-up, or one could put a red dot on the top rail for bang-on shot placement. In full Auto the grouping opened up to around 2 inches in right about the same location but this was easily over 100+ shots, so again an excellent result from the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle!
Every once in a while you come across an underdog type Airgun that on paper and based on low cost you are not expecting to see amazing results from. The BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle is one such AEG Airsoft Rifle that overachieved my expectations by a lot, and I would say performed as well as any AEG Airsoft Rifle out there at even much higher price points. All of my testing was performed using the included 8.4 volt battery which worked well but I did find the rate of fire was a bit slower than if I was using a higher volt 11.1 volt battery. My advice if you do end up picking up the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle and want a higher round per minute full auto, then at any time you can upgrade your battery and charger to a higher volt one. So what are you waiting for?
Type: Airsoft Rifle. Manufacturer: BARRA. Model: Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 Materials: Mostly plastic. Weight: 4.8 pounds (2.2 kilograms). Length: 29-32.5 inches (737-825.5mm) BarrelLength: 12 inches (305mm) inner 6.08mm non-rifled. Propulsion: AEG. Action: Semi & Full Auto SAO. AmmunitionType: 6mm Airsoft BB's. AmmunitionCapacity: Mid Cap 300 rounds. FPS: 420 with .12 gram Airsoft BB’s.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a SAO light and short trigger, typical of most AEG Airsoft guns having basically a trigger that is an electrical on/off switch. The trigger pressure I would say as about medium for this type of trigger and about a 1/4 inch in length. It has a curved metal trigger and works well in general.
Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle, or tried it out yet as it is this is the first time I have seen this AEG. BARRA claims around a 420 fps using fairly light .12 gram Airsoft BB’s but I generally test using standard .20 gram Airsoft BB’s to keep my Field Test Shooting Reviews consistent. I would expect the velocity to be in the mid 300’s using .20 gram BB’s but we will find out when I do my actual Field Test Shooting Video for it. The same goes for accuracy, we will have to wait till my shooting video to know how the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle performs on a paper target.
Build Quality: The BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle is pretty basic and made mostly out of plastic on the outside with the exception of some mechanical parts like the inner barrel, buffer tube, selector switch, trigger, magazine release, charging handle and a few other pins and screws. everything else is plastic including the magazine but the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle does use standard AR type magazines so if you have some in metal you can use them. The plastic seems to be made of decent quality and the fit and finish is good overall.
Realism: Even though the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle may not have much metal in the build, at least in terms of the receiver and forward grip, it does look the part of an AR, perhaps a bit lighter but not bad considering all the plastic on the outside. Almost all the mechanical parts work as expected except for the bolt release since it does not stay back when you pull the charging handle back for access to the hop-up. You will have to hold the charging handle back to adjust the hop-up but not a big deal.
Pros:
Very affordable on a tight budget.
Comes with charger and 8.4 volt Ni-MH battery.
Lots of mounting points for accessories.
Dual position sights, fiber optic when down, adjustable for windage when up.
6 position rear stock for different shoulder pull lengths.
Adjustable hop-up under dust cover.
Semi and full auto.
Finger groves on pistol grip for added comfort and they look cool.
Black Ops branding looks good.
Good looking AR-15 Replica.
Cons:
Mostly all Plastic build.
Need to hold back charging handle to access hop-up.
Sights only adjustable for windage.
Comments:
The BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle may not have a lot of metal going on but that will bring the price tag down a lot and on the plus side it does come with everything you need to get up and running including the battery, charger and even a small back of Airsoft BB’s that won’t last long ;) I also l like the dual position iron sights that when flat utilize fiber optics front and back and when in the popped up position give you the standard peep in the back which is adjustable for windage. If you want to add a red dot, optical sight or other accessories there are lots of mounting points on the forward grip for this. Another nice touch is you also do get a metal gearbox so internal mechanical longevity should be good. If you want to take the plunge and get started with Airsoft and see if it fits for you then the BARRA Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifle is a great way to test the waters and see how you like it.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle is a SAO light and short trigger, typical of most AEG Airsoft guns having basically a trigger that is an electrical on/off switch. The Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle however has what feels like a mechanical reset which you can feel as you release the trigger to let you know your trigger has been reset and is ready to reengage at anytime. This type of trigger is something you find on a mechanical trigger rather than an electronic trigger and is a nice touch that adds even more realism to this AEG Airsoft Rifles.
Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle, or even tried it out yet as it is a brand new AEG Airsoft gun for me. Krytac claims around a 390-410 fps velocity which is right where I personally would like to see it being as this is ideal for most shooting situations. Not too powerful for more closeup shooting conditions yet powerful enough to be able to shoot out to longer ranges when required. In terms of accuracy we will have to find out, but I full expect the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle to do a bang up job and get a nice tight grouping in both semi and full auto when I make my Field Test Shooting Video for it…
Build Quality: The Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle is a beast when it comes to build quality with top notch just about everything including the T6 machined Aluminum hard coat anodized Hand-guard, the Aircraft Grade Aluminum Receiver and the NAUTILUS V2 GEARBOX and Nautilus MOSFET system to name a few key points. Yes you are going to have to pay for this added quality and workmanship but that’s how it works!
Realism: The Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle is a one to one Replica of a real steal Warsport LVOA-C AR-15, made out of high quality metals with a superior finish. As expected the majority of the mechanical components work in the same manner as a real steel AR such as the charging handle, dust cover, selector switch, bolt release and as expected the trigger, magazine release and multi-position rear stock.
Pros:
Full metal build, Aircraft Grade Aluminum Receiver, T6 machined Aluminum hard coat anodized Hand-guards.
Flat electronic trigger with noticeable click reset.
FPS is right where you want it to be.
6 position adjustable rear stock.
Pop up removable metal iron sights, adjustable for windage and elevation.
Fully Licensed - Warsport LVOA-C.
Made/Distributed by KRISS (Actual real steel firearm manufacturer).
Ambidextrous selector switch and sling mount.
NAUTILUS V2 GEARBOX and Nautilus MOSFET.
Numbered Rotary Hop-up makes it easy to switch between Airsoft Ammo weights.
More than typically found battery compartment room.
Cons:
Rather expensive price tag.
Comes with orange flash hider only, can swap out.
This version is a bit long for my tastes.
Comments:
In a sea of a multitude of AR based AEG Airsoft Rifles, I feel the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C AEG Airsoft Rifle does stand out from many of them with its super high quality build, Warsport LVOA-C licensing, quality components throughout and its unique style and look. Mind you, it does come at a fairly hefty price tag so be prepared for a bit of sticker shock, once you get the sticker shock out of the way and bring one of these bad boys home and in your hands, all that useless cash you would have spent on Starbucks and $20 McDonalds meals will be forgotten and you can get on with enjoying a lifelong ownership of what could be the last AEG Airsoft rifle you will ever need or own? Well that is a bit of a stretch, let’s just say you’r going to love it!
In this Preview Unboxing Video I checkout the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C & Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 AEG Airsoft Rifles to see what they offer. Both have a different customer in mind the Krytac Warsport LVOA-C is geared towards the higher end higher priced shopper while the Black Ops M4 Viper MK5 is much more budget friendly and comes with everything you need to get started. I will be making followup Table Top and Field Test Video for both of these AEG Airsoft Rifles where I did into more details and also give them a good Field Test here in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Airgun Range.
Airguns are generally cheaper to buy and for sure cheaper to shoot. Airguns can cost as little as $50-100 to buy while real guns in similar models will cost many time more. Cost of ammo is so much less expensive than Real Gun ammo by a mile!
Difficulty to Obtain:
Airguns in most countries do not require any licensing or registration. Generally there are more available options in Airgun choices than Real Gun choices as restrictions often prohibit many Real Guns to be obtained.
Places to Shoot:
Unless you live in a super remote locations and your laws allow you to shoot Real Guns in those locations, then in most cases you can shoot an Airgun almost anywhere within reason. You can even shoot certain Airgun models in your basement. Airsoft is a great option for indoor shooting as the plastic ammo does not carry very much energy so with minimal effort you can make a backstop that will trap the ammo very well.
Trigger Time:
Because ammo is much less expensive and places you can shoot are easier to find, you can get a lot more Trigger Time under your belt which will also improve your shotgun with Real Guns and after all it’s just fun to shoot guns even if they are Airguns.
Safety:
I am not talking about safety in terms of protection. I am talking about safety as in if you do something stupid and your Gun goes off accidentally. If you accidentally fire your Airgun indoors, the bullet will not travel through floors or walls and potentially harm or kill someone on the other side. If you do manage to shoot yourself with an Airgun, the consequence are much less severe than shooting yourself with a Real Gun. That said, always treat an Airgun as if it was a Real Loaded Gun, as server injury and even death can occur even with an Airgun.
Ware Games and Training Situations:
There is no way you can use a standard Real Gun to shoot at people, unless extensively altered with special parts that make the Real Gun unusable to shoot live ammo. With Airguns you have the choice of using an Airsoft or Paintball gun that are both designed specifically for this purpose.
Pest Control:
If you have the need for pest control in an urban area where you do not want a stray bullet to travel too far or penetrate buildings if a shot where to go awry, then an Airgun designed for accuracy and power may be perfect for the job. Accuracy with target and hunting Airguns is on par if not better than many Real Guns and are have powerful enough to kill a pest humanely without having too much power for the job and having to worry as much about your background.
Prop Guns:
As mentioned already, Airguns can look a lot like Real Guns, so they are perfect to be used as a stand-in or Prop Gun when you need to simulate the look and function of a Real Gun. Again they are easier and cheaper to obtain and if something does go wrong, the consequences are much less severe.
Social Stigma:
Unfortunately Real Guns and perhaps any gun these days are looked upon with a social stigma as being the cause of the Crime rather than a tool used in a Crime. And so people blame Guns for these crimes rather than the people committing these crimes. If a person is motivated enough to do something bad, they are going to do it either way and will use whatever means is available to them to commit these Crimes. Including other means like: Knives, Blunt Objects, Poisons, Vehicles, Explosives… Sad but true! Airguns are not used in homicides or mass shootings as they are completely underpowered for a crime like this. They can however be used in crimes as a show of threat, as they do look a lot like real guns, generally people that use Airguns for real crimes, if challenged will give up immediately as they are completely outgunned. Don’t bring an Airgun to a Real Gun fight, you have better chance with a knife!
In this Comparison Video I show several models of Glock Replica Airguns distributed under the Umarex/Glock license. Umarex has brought to market several Glock Replica Airguns to date including BB, Pellet, Airsoft and even Paintball versions in a variety of models. I showcase only a few of these models in this video but it is a good selection to give most people an idea of what is available from our Replica Airguns website in terms of Glock Pistols.
In this Field Test Shooting Video I put the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles through their paces to find out what the actual Velocity is and how Accurate they both are in both semi and full auto. I use .20 gram Airsoft BB’s for all of the test and I also use an 11.1 volt battery in each Airsoft Rifle. Make sure to checkout my combined Table Top Video for the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles for more details and info.
Starting off with the velocity or fps for the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles I place 4-5 rounds through my Chronograph and average the shots out to see what the fps is. Arcturus claims around 380-400 fps but I actually got a bit hotter velocities from both guns with the AR06 averaging 401 fps and the NY03CB averaging 412 fps. Both where supper consistent with their fps, about 2-3fps between the highest and lowest shots.
For my Accuracy Test I shot both the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles in semi auto first using 10 rounds to find out what the groupings looked like at 30 feet away. I then switch both AEG Airsoft Guns over to full auto and dumped a spring load full form the high-cappa magazine into the paper target setup again at 30 feet down range to see if the groupings opened up much more. The Arcturus AR06 did place all 10 rounds right in about a 1 inch grouping just a tad low and ever so slightly to the left of the bullseye, while the Arcturus NY03CB again got close to the 1 inch grouping but had a few outliers that spread it out to closer to 2 inches, it may hav been me as human factor is for sure a possibility. The Arcturus NY03CB did shoot a little bit closer to the bullseye out of the box but both of these Arcturus AEG Airsoft Rifles have fully adjustable sights. When it came to full auto, both rifles groupings opened up a bit, but not much as the recoil on these AEG rifles is not really a factor.
As I mention in this video, there is a rather large price difference of around $200 extra for the Arcturus AR06 which does get you more metal and some upgrades internally but in the end they both performed about the same, so either choice would be good. I personally like the all metal and look of the Arcturus AR06 but if you want a similar performing AEG and save some money then grab the Arcturus NY03CB.
It took me a bit to get to this Field Test Reviews done for both the Arcturus AK05 AK AEG and Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifles but I finally made them! if you want more specifications and details along with closeup video of the Arcturus AK05 then make sure to checkout my Table Tope Review Video for it. In this video I will be testing out the Velocity and then move on to the Accuracy for this AEG Airsoft Rifle in both semi and full auto conducted in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Airgun Range.
First I placed 5 rounds through my Chronograph shooting .20 gram Airsoft BB’s and I found the Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle to be on the higher fps range and it was very consistent with the fastest shot hitting 401 fps and the slowest shot hitting 393. This average an impressive 398 fps which could be a bit hot for some Airsoft Game shooting situations, but perhaps ideal when shooting outdoors at longer ranges.
I then placed a fresh paper target up 30 feet down range and proceeded to shot 10 rounds into the target using a seated and rested shooting position. I followed this up with a spring full of BB’s in full auto in semi auto and full auto getting a bit tighter group in semi auto then I did in full auto but this is generally the case. I did have a bit of trouble with the magazine not loading Airsoft BB’s even though I did tighten the spring fully between testing. Perhaps the magazine needed some break in time or was even defective? Out of the box the Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle shot very close to the bullseye but just a tad to the left but not by much. The sights are adjustable for elevation if need be, or you can put a compact red dot sight on the rail for spot on accuracy.
I really did like the Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle as it performed very well for me in terms of both power and accuracy other then the magazine acting up. I would most likely add a compact red dot sight on the rail as the built in sights are limited in terms of windage adjustments. You can also see in this video that I had to take off the top dust receiver cover in order to place the battery in it, you will need a very specific and compact battery in order to have it installed and be able to close the top cover. Those two things aside the Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is a great choice if you are looking for a compact and more modernized AK type AEG Airsoft Rifle. Also make sure to watch my Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review already available to view on Vimeo!
It took me a bit to get to this Field Test Review for the Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle but here we are, if you want more specifications and details along with closeup video of the Arcturus AK06 then make sure to checkout my Table Tope Review Video for it. In this video I will be testing out the Velocity and accuracy in both semi and full auto here in the Replica Airguns Sea Can Indoor Airgun Range.
First off I placed 5 rounds through my Chronograph shooting .20 gram Airsoft BB’s and I found the Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle to be very consistent with the fastest shot hitting 370 fps and the slowest shot hitting 368, this average an impressive 369 fps which is perfect for most Airsoft Gam shooting situations.
I then placed a fresh paper target up 30 feet down range and proceeded to shot 10 rounds into the target using a seated and rested shooting position. I followed this up with a spring full of shots in full auto with semi auto and full auto getting pretty much the exact same results which I would say to be about a 1.5-2 inch grouping. Out of the box the Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle did shot a bit high making me aim about 6 inches lower to achieve hits in the bullseye. Perhaps hope could remedy this as the sights are too adjustable…
I really did like the Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle as it performed very well for me in terms of both power and accuracy. I was not a fan of the built in sights as the notch in the back was so low that it barely lined up allowed for it to be inline with the front post sight, I kind of had to guess where the notch was to make it work. I would for sure put a red dot on the rail as the built in sights are pretty much useless. you can also see in this video that I had to take off the top dust receiver cover in order to place my battery in it, you will need a very specific battery in order to have it installed and close the top cover. those two things aside the Arcturus AK06 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is a really great AK Staled AEG Airsoft Rifle in my books stay tuned for my Arcturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle Field Test Review coming soon!
Type:Airsoft Rifle. Manufacturer: Acturus. Model: AR06 & NY03CB. Materials: Mostly all Metal. Weight: 5.6/4.9 pounds (2.5/2.2 kilograms). Length: 27.4-30.7/31.7-35 inches (695-780/805-890mm) Barrel Length: 11/14.6 inch (280/370mm) inner 6.02mm tight bore non rifled. Propulsion: AEG (with Deans Connectors). Action: Semi & Full Auto SAO. Ammunition Type: 6mm Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: Hi Cap/Mid Cap - 550/135 FPS: 380-400fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles like other AEG Rifles is not mechanical as they are essentially electrical driven so basically the trigger is an on/off switch that is closest in feel to a single action only trigger since it is light and short. You will notice a slight delay between pressing the trigger and the actual round being fired since the trigger activates a motor which first pulls the air spring back. Once the spring is fully drawn back it releases and compresses the air which then propelled the 6mm Airsoft BB. The higher voltage battery you use like an 11.1 volt will shorten the delay as the motor will spin faster and pull back the spring quicker allowing for less noticeable delay and also a higher rate of full auto fire which in this rifle is very noticeable.
Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed either the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles or even tried them out yet. I hope to get to my Field Test Shooting Video for both of them later next week, until then we can assume they will shoot similar to most other AEG rifles with tighter bore barrels. I am expecting at least a 2 inch grouping at 30 feet down range in semi auto. In terms of velocity the test paper which they come with claims around 390+fps.
Build Quality: The Arcturus AR06 is a mostly metal with a full metal receiver while the NY03CB has a polymer or plastic receiver which from what I can tell only other components being plastic would be the pistol grips and rear stock. other metal parts on both AR type Airsoft Rifles would be the rail setup, the barrel, the charging handle, the buffer tube, the dust cover, the trigger, the selector switch, the magazine release and bolt release. Fit and finish for both guns is very good.
Realism: The Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifles are based on the AR platform with both versions looking the part of a real steel AR. They do come with the removable orange tips installed but they also come with black flash hiders so you can easily switch them out adding to the realism. The metal receiver on the AR06 does give it a bit more weight but even the NY03CB has a decent weight and solid feel to it. Most of the controls work just like a real steel AR including the charging handle, bolt release, selector switch and magazine release.
Pros:
Two versions to meat your budget, both great options.
Quality components throughout both versions. Only real difference is nylon fiber receiver vs metal receiver and slight upgrade motor on AR06 version from Long Type to Long Type 19k torque motor on AR06.
Have been quality control inspected including 5 round recorded fps test with .20 gram Airsoft BB’s.
Both have a functioning bolt catch.
Both come with Quick release two position fully adjustable pop-up sights.
Both come with additional black flash hiders.
Lots of rial mounting options in Picatinny and M-LOK.
6 position adjustable rear stocks.
Easy access to motor for any possible trouble shooting you may need to do.
Additional grip plate option.
Ambidextrous controls and ambidextrous sling mounting points (QD on AR06).
Two magazines come with AR06 (Mid Cap and High Cap).
Cons:
Limited battery options as area is small.
Kind of need a tool to remove rear stock for battery access. (Could change the rear stock)
Mystery accessory baffles me and not mentioned in the manual.
Comments:
Like the AK series of Acturus AEG Airpot Rifles, the Arcturus AR06 - NY03CB AEG are good value for the money with the AR06 offering a slightly higher premium over the lower cost NY03CB. But don’t let the lower price fool you into thinking you are getting a sub-standard product as both versions are built with many of the same components. I personally like the more compact look of the Arcturus AR06 AEG Airsoft Rifle but then again the price of the NY03CB AEG Airsoft Rifle is hard to ignore. Either way you can’t go too wrong so make your pick and enjoy owning one of them.
My Table Top Video of the Acturus AR06 - NY03CB AR AEG Airsoft Rifles:
Type: Paintball Shotgun. Manufacturer:Umarex - T4E. Model:Umarex T4E HDB. Materials: Metal & Polymer. Weight: 5.52 pounds (2.5 kg). Barrel: 18.5 inches (470.5mm) Metal smooth bore. Power Source: 1x12 gram CO2. Action: Semi Auto DOA with Internal Magazine. Ammo Type: .68 Caliber Paintball or Rubber Ball. Ammo Capacity: 16 Rounds. FPS: 220 claimed
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun is basically a Double Action Only Trigger as there is no blowback or way in which to preload a hammer or striker system. So basically your finger does all the work so the trigger pull is I would say about medium length and about medium pull. It does works just fine for fairly rapid follow up shooting. Each pull of the trigger also extends a rear breach-like tube that seals off the CO2 from the internal magazine or there would be a lot of CO2 leakage.
Accuracy: Normally I do not get the chance to perform the Field Test before making my Table Tope Video Review but with the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun, I did it the other way around so I do have performance metrics I can share with you, at least summarized. I suggest watching my Full Field Test Shooting Video Review for the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun for a the full breakdown. In summary, the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun shot a bit low on the target but had a decent grouping of I would say around 4-6 inches which is really good for a Paintball Gun. In terms of power my Chronograph results shooting 5 rounds produced an average of 176fps but the temperature was not super warm so in warmer conditions you can expect this to go up a bit, I would say 200fps is realistic.
Build Quality: The build quality of the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun is really good for the lower price of this unit compared to other higher priced T4E products, you will get a pretty much all plastic outer shell. That said there is still a fair amount of metal in this PaintBall Shotgun including the barrel, internal magazine, sights, trigger, sling mounts and some internal parts. All in all the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun has a good weight and feel to it with nice fit and finish.
Realism: The Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun as far as I know is not an exact replica of any specific Shotgun but it does look like what you would expect to see from a Pistol Grip Tactical Styled Shotgun. In terms of mechanical working parts everything does what it supposed to do and works as expected.
Accuracy was really good, probably my tightest grouping so far to date with a Paintball Gun shooting at 30 feet away.
Lots of mounting option for accessories like a tac light, laser or other sighting option with it’s top and side picatinny rail and M-LOK setup.
Quick CO2 pierce system so you can leave a CO2 in it ready to go any time with no worries about CO2 leaking out over time.
Simple to use Cross Bolt Safety.
Nice high capacity super easy to load 16 round magazine.
Ambidextrous sling mountain points.
Low cost for what you get compared to other Umarex/T4E products.
Build quality feels pretty good considering it is a much lower cost than other T4E rifles/shotguns.
Looks very intimidating.
Cons:
Mostly plastic external build.
Sights are not adjustable.
Will not get lots of shots per single CO2.
No rear stock so will not be as accurate using a non rested shooting posting.
Comments:
The Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun is a well built and decent performing Paintball Shotgun and for the price you do get a lot of gun for your money. In some ways it even outperforms the HDX in my books including lower price, ease to load, quicker follow shots being semi auto, more compact size and even accuracy was better with the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun. So if you’re on a budget, don’t feel like you are compromising at all here, you are getting a really good Paintball Shotgun solution!
In this Field Test Shooting Video I test out the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun to see what the actual fps is and what kind of accuracy we can get out of these .68 Caliber Rubber balls at 30 feet down range. I have not done a Table Top Video just yet for the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun so stay posted for that upcoming video so stay posted for that, in the meantime you can watch my Preview Videos where I do show it up and close and go over some main specifications.
Starting with the velocity portion of this video I used .68 caliber rubber balls which are not super heavy and not made out of a very hard rubber as you can squish them with your fingers fairly easily. I put 5 rounds through my chronograph after loading a pair of 12 gram CO2 cartriges into the CO2 chamber. My results averaged 176fps which may seem slower than expected but they did hit my target pretty hard pulling the paper in with them. Each round was fairly consistent ranging from 167 to 182 fps trailing off a bit after each shot which is expected.
Moving on to the accuracy portion for the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun, I proceeded to shoot around 10 rounds into my fresh paper target setup 30 feet down range. My target is basically an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper and my goal was ot get all my shots onto the paper which I easily managed. I was impressed with the grouping from the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun as it performed better than most Paintball guns using rubber balls. The shot placement was a bit lower than I was aiming but all the rounds where within I would say 4-5 inches of each other with no real outliers in the grouping.
All in all the Umarex T4E HDB .68 Caliber Paintball Shotgun performed better than I was expecting, I bit more fps would be nice but the rubber balls do hit the paper with a fair amount of energy, I would for sure not want to get hit by one at close range with light clothing on. The accuracy again was really good for a a paintball rifle and this being one of the lower cost Umarex T4E rifle/shotgun based products it performed as good if not better than much higher priced versions. If you’re looking for a fun Paintball Rifle that won’t break the bank and has a good feature set then pick one up for us!
In this Preview Review Video I take a look at 4 newer products now in our Replica Airguns Online Store. One is a 4.5mm Steel BB Revolver, two are 6mm Airsoft Pistols and one is a .68 caliber Paintball Shotgun.
The first item I take look at in this video is the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol, this product is pretty entry level with analyst all plastic build and is very light to hold. It does however shoot in both semi and full auto since it is an AEG Airsfto Pistol (not many of them out there). The fps is rather low at a claimed fps at just under 200, the Umarex HK30 AEG Airsoft Pistol also comes with two 16 round remove; plastic magazines. Who knows, maybe it will be fun?
Next I take a look at the ASG Dan Wesson 2.5 inch 4.5mm Steel BB Gold Revolver. This is a CO2 powered shell loading BB revolver very much like similar ones I have reviewed in the past but in Gold finish. Will the gold finishes make it perform better, well I guess we better find out!
I then take a look at a “Glock Like” CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol for KJWorks called the KP13. It has a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 along with 24 rounds of 6mm Airsoft BB’s. The KJWorks KP-13 has a metal slide, metal magazine and polymer frame with a velocity over 360fps using the included barrel extension.
Last but perhaps the most interesting for me is the Umarex T4E HDB which is a lower cost Paintball/Rubber Ball Shotgun which could possibly be used for home protection? The T4E HDB is a mostly plastic constructed rifle with decent weight to it and uses an internal spring fed 16 round magazine. You will find all kinds of mounting points for accessories and for a sling on the Umarex T4E HDB and again at much lower cost than similar T4E rifle based Paintball/Rubber ball Airguns.
Type:Airsoft Rifle. Manufacturer: Acturus. Model: AK05. Materials: Mostly all Metal. Weight: 8.2 pounds (3.7 kilograms). Length: 31.1 inches (790mm) Barrel Length: 11 inch (280mm) inner 6.02mm tight bore non rifled. Propulsion: AEG (with Deans Connectors). Action: Semi & Full Auto SAO. Ammunition Type: 6mm Airsoft BB's. Ammunition Capacity: Hi Cap/Mid Cap - 550/135 FPS: 380-400fps.
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle like other AEG Rifles is not mechanical as it is essentially electrical driven so basically it is an on/off switch that is closest in feel to a single action only trigger since it is light and short.
Accuracy: I have not Field Test Reviewed the Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle or even tried it out yet. I hope to get to my Field Test Shooting Video for the AK05 later next week, until then we can assume it will shoot similar to most other AEG rifles with tighter bore barrels. I am expecting at least a 2 inch grouping at 30 feet down range in semi auto. In terms of velocity the test paper work it comes with claims around 390+fps.
Build Quality: The Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is almost all metal in design with from what I can tell only the pistol grip being plastic. The receiver and top dust cover are both hardened steel with the receiver made out of stamped steel just like areal AK. The AK05 is nice and heavy for its size and the fit and finishes is very good all around. Internal parts are all of high quality too.
Realism: The Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is based on the AK platform with this version being a more compact and tactical model. Externally it looks the part for sure, holding it in your hands it feels the part too. As expected the insides are all Airsoft but you would need ot take the dust cover off or pull back the charging handle to figure this out. Again the Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is an almost all metal Airsoft Gun with an actual stamped steel receiver and steel dust cover, it’s hard to get much more realistic looking and feeling than that.
Pros:
Lots of mounting options: Picatinny rails, M-LOK, AK Side Rail.
Semi and full auto adjustable.
5 position adjustable rear stock.
Mostly metal construction and lots of actual steel including the receiver and dust cover.
Lots of weight to it at 8.2 pounds, feels awesome to hold.
Comes with two magazines, one Hi Cap and one Mid Cap.
Comes with a secondary all black squared off flash hider.
On the fly adjustable rear sight for elevation.
Quick change spring system.
Easy to get to and adjust rotary hop-up adjustment.
Should be good for longer range shooting with nice high claimed fps.
Cons:
Will need a very specific battery type, thin and long.
Rear sight only adjustable for windage and not elevation.
May even be a bit heavy for all day use.
Comments:
The Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle along with the other Acturus AK Airsoft Rifles is in my opinion one of the nicest AEG AK based Airsoft rifles you can get, at least in the mid price ranges. Being all metal with actual stamped steel parts really makes the AK05 feel realistic and of high quality. If you’re looking for something with a bit more heft than the Acturus AK06 that has a more useful rear stock at least in terms of adjustability and don’t mind giving up some of the compact features of the AK06 then perhaps the AK05 is more for you. IN my opinion the Acturus AK05 AK AEG Airsoft Rifle is a great combination of quality, size and features, hopefully my upcoming Field Test Shooting Review backs up the performance aspect and we can add that to the list.
