I've written a few posts on the Umarex Walther CP99 Compact. It was even featured in my very first YouTube video with my Umarex Walther PPK Full Auto BB Pistol. I do sell the CP99 Compact in my web-store but not the regular version, rather the Recon version. With the Recon version you get a few extras: The Sight Rail, a Red Dot Scope and a Compensator extension which I feel is better value over the standard version.

One thing that I noticed about the Compensator extension is that it's not just an add on simply for looks, this Recon version of the CP99 Compact has a longer barrel inside the compensator which should give the Recon version of the CP99 Compact a bit higher FPS. I will test this theory down the road with my Chrony Chronograph.

First off, you may have noticed this Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle is not an airgun or a blank gun! So why am I reviewing it? This isn't going to be a review as much as it's going to be an overview.

I just really wanted to share this awesome little .22 caliber rimfire shooter with you because if you're like me then you may also appreciate the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle like I do. One reason I like airguns is because they are generally lower cost to purchase and lower cost to shoot then your average powder burner. My Henry .22 only set me back $269 and I have probably paid more for some of my airguns so this was not to bad on the pocket book. Another bonus is I can shoot this gun all day long because .22 caliber rimfire ammo is about 1/10th or less the cost of regular powder based ammo. I can buy a box of 500+ shells for under $20!

When purchasing a rimfire .22 caliber gun, you have to also consider what ammunition you are going to be using as not all rimfire .22 caliber guns will shoot all types of .22 caliber ammo. You can get .22 rimfire ammunition in "Long Rifle", "Long", "Short" and even "Buckshot". Keep in mind that not all .22 caliber guns will operate properly with all kinds of .22 caliber rimfire ammo. For instance, autoloaders generally require the "Long Rifle" ammunition to cycle properly. What I love about the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 is that it can shoot pretty much any .22 caliber rimfire ammunition you through at it except for the magnum loads which is a totally different gun altogether.

Another bonus to using the .22 caliber short ammo is that it is about as loud as a standard airgun, at least when using a rifle. So if you don't want to draw attention to yourself then pickup some shorts and plink away! Depending on what manufacturer of shorts you purchase they tend to shoot in the 700-1000 FPS using around a 20-30 grain bullet, so they are still perfectly good for small pest control. Just make sure to keep in mind what is beyond your target as a 20-30 grain bullet will penetrate objects and travel farther then a much lighter .22 caliber pellet even traveling at the same speed.

As this is just an overview I want ot cover some of the main points about the Henry Lever Action Rimfire .22 Caliber Rifle...

I dropped into my local Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters today just to have a look around and walked out with a Champion .22 Caliber Bullet Trap. I figured the time had come to stop using cardboard boxes as my backstops, sure I have lots of backyard and so safety is not an issue but I think this new Champion Bullet Trap will work well for me!

One really nice feature about the Champion Bullet Trap is that it's rated to shoot right up to .22 caliber rimfire bullets (no magnums), so I can use my Henry .22 rimfire Lever action rifle with it too.

I am hoping that it will trap BB's OK, if they tend to get a little lively in it I may have to through a little cardboard in behind my target paper. 

The only trouble I encountered was getting it home as I brought my Kawasaki KLX250SF motorcycle with me on this trip but fortunately I had installed a rack on the back that the Champion Bullet Trap fit nicely on to.

One thing that can really add functionality but also give your gun that customized look is a Fore-grip and or a Bipod. I've added two Fore-grips for you to choose from and a really nice barrel mounted quick release Bipod.

This post is for any of you lucky North American Baikal Makarov owners out there, or for anyone thinking of getting a Baikal Makarov MP-654k.

I ran out of room for all my air guns and blank guns in my gun locker a while ago and so I have been on the lookout for a safe way to keep my air and blank guns secured and out of reach.

I have two little kids and I do make a point to keep an unloaded air gun around for them to check out and get used to, (so it's not such a big deal down the road for them). I have started to at least make them aware of what guns are and not to handle guns unless an adult is around and says it's OK. I want them to know early on that guns can be very dangerous when used the wrong way. But thats' another article on it's own!

I have been considering another gun locker or safe but they can be very expensive and are usually limited in size, especially if you're looking for an inexpensive one. In Canada, air guns and non-prohibited blank guns don't technically legally need to be locked in a gun safe or gun cabinet but personally I still feel the need to keep my air and blank guns locked up to some degree. So I thought, what about some sort of a lockable storage or utility cabinet?

I finally came across what I think is an excellent solution and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg! I went with an upright utility cabinet from Black & Decker (SpaceAir Collection). Mine is 70 inches tall, 15 inches deep, and 27 inches wide. It's made out of sturdy plastic and most importantly it's lockable!

I went with a pretty large utility cabinet as I have lots of air and blank guns but if you have a small to medium air and blank gun collection, you could always get the half size shorter version of this type of unit.

My scope mounting hardware came in today and I got right to work adding my new Aim 3x9x40 Rubber Scope and Foregrip to it. I wasn't planning on putting on the Foregrip, it just kind of happened and it looks good, so it may just stay on the CX4?

I ordered a Picitinny/Weaver Deluxe Riser Mount because I wasn't sure if the scope would clear the built in sites and I was thinking I wanted to mount the 3x9x40 Scope toward the rear but as it happened my high rise ring mounts where already the perfect hight and the Picitinny/Weaver Deluxe Riser Mount I ordered wasn't required!

Guess I'll have to shelf the Riser Mount for another project, I'm sure one day it will come in handy.

I have been wanting to get a suitable scope for my Umarex CX4 Storm for a while but have been busy with the Holliday Season, today I made it out to Panther Paintball, a local paint ball store in my area to see what they had in stock. Sometimes I find paintball stores have a better air gun accessory selection then even many full fledged sporting goods stores that sell guns?

I was in luck because they had some good deals going on, one of which was a nice 3x9x40 Rubber Coated Scope made by AIM SPORT INC.

The only problem I had is that it did not have the right mounts for my CX4, it came with mounts for an M16 Carry Handle instead. So I added a Deluxe Riser Mount and some High Profile Picitinny/Weaver 30MM Rings - Problem solved!

I also have another rifle coming next week that I want to add a Foregrip and Red Dot Scope to, again Panther Paintbally had a 1x42 Red Dot Scope made by AIM SPORT INC. that was on sale and just what I was looking for.

Lastly, I found a Foregrip much like the one I have on my Steel Storm but without the Tactical Flashlight built in. I didn't really need the light on this new gun anyways.

Now I'm set for next week when I hope to get all the parts I need and of course my new rifle...

I just noticed that you can get Bulk Air-CO2 Adaptors on Amazon via a company called "Air Venturi". They have them for the Steel Storm, the Drozd and the Blackbird. The Blackbird one actually doubles as a stock mount for your CO2 or Bulk Air Tank.
